They have a monopoly on background casting and suspend and or terminate permanently without a review or giving "employee" a chance to explain their side of the story. So if say someone from crew or casting is having a bad day or has a personal issue with you outside of work that is all it takes for you to lose your job.

Union can't help because the system is broken and powerless. Union has no contract and therefore no bargaining power with casting agencies even though they are the ones who decide who works or does not. Highly unprofessional company that runs like a criminal lawless organization.

Their review system is only called as such to comply with labor laws but its is a farce and does not change or affect their decision which is always one sided and controlled by a committee....which is actually one person by the name of Melissa Leisure in LA office. [email protected]

This company needs to be investigated and be brought up on charges for illegal business practices as well as brought to a class action lawsuit for all the unfairly discharged peoples lost wages.

Central Casting retaliates, blacklists and is vicious overall.

We’d like this illegal action to stop. There are many actors who’ve worked very hard, are professional, yet others in the workplace have told stories that do not warrant being unemployed.

Most who are working are concerned about using their name or other’s names with the fear of also being blacklisted or retaliated against which is why we need to broadcast Central Casting’s illegal behavior.

Central Casting does not check to see if situations against the actors they hire are true, though the actors have had an impeccable work history across the board. Instead, they ruin whatever work possibilities may come the actor’s way.

There have been instances of Central Casting making mistakes, ie, claiming to call talent or inform talent of their start time when in fact they never called, but barred the talent from all future work from them or other Casting Directors.

Another instance involves production assistants abusing actors on set by yelling at them or violating union rules, then reporting that actor(s) for noncompliance though the actor(s) have always been professional while working.

There are also examples of Melissa Leisure, Central Casting Los Angeles, claiming to call talent just to speak, but in fact it’s to blacklist. These examples are posted on ripoff.com-search Central Casting.

Central Casting’s parent company is TPG Financial which also owns Entertainment Partners, the most used payroll company in the industry, Pop Casting and Casting Networks-the most used site for obtaining and posting work. Clearly a monopoly. If you are blacklisted by Central Casting, Casting Networks has been known to not submit you for work though you’ve paid them to do so. They refuse to talk to you, but will send an email stating there’s no issue and to continue to submit for work, all for their monthly fee which seems to keep escalating.

Please help us stop the injustices by exposing this illegal behavior.

Thank you.

Melisa was terminated

Central casting LA is sucks taking blacklist decision by only 1 person Melisa she is a God and supervisor in one the same face. She doesn't really over pushes herself to explain the termination reason and this is not right. Gossip shit is a priority by taking the last decision who's going to live who's going to die. She doesn't care and don't like people. Sure, she has a personal and mental problem. Five stars to Melisa!
