Well aware of these congenital deformities, Melissa Riley continued to breed my puppy's parents. I understand that currently Amish puppy mills are part of her sloppy puppy breeding techniques. PLEASE DON'T CONSIDER PURCHASING A PUPPY FROM THEM. Do your research and talk to other bulldog owners and breeders. Your puppy will be healthier, and more importantly the BREED as a whole will be as well,
My fiance and i were in search of an english bulldog breeder and came across castle rock bulldogs and thought they would be a good breeder. We put a deposit down for a female pup in a litter that was going to be born roughly 3 weeks from the day we put a deposit down. When it came around the time that we were told the litter would be born we called to see how the puppy was doing.
Melissa had told us that the litter had died and that we could choose from another litter. Melissa and robert the owners never contacted us about the litter dying and it took us numerous emails and phone calls to get in contact with the owners. We finally picked a new female puppy from another litter we liked, at the time the puppy was roughly 2 weeks old and were told at 8 weeks she would be shipped to us.
The day finally came for our new female puppy to be shipped and we were so excited. The puppy came and we took her out of the cage and discovered, that she was not a she, infect they had sent the wrong puppy and that it was a male. I immediately contacted robert about this and he was shocked that it happened and gave us the option to keep him for the weekend and do a swap out on monday.
We immedialty felt bad for the puppy to have to get used to us then ship him off again. We asked robert that if we were to choose to keep the male could we get a refund of some sort, robert agreed. We decided to keep him and robert gave us an option of $400 refund which we agreed to. Robert was given my paypal information on sunday and come tuesday we did not receive any of the money. I contacted melissa and she said that she thought robert sent it and robert thought melissa sent it. Talk about getting your business in check unbelievable.
Also his paper work was never sent to us so i emailed melissa again asking when we would get it, she emailed me back with stop harassing her or we can give the dog back with a full refund. All i wanted was the puppies paper work to have and to give to our vet. It was not until i told her that i would go to the bureau of better business or contact a lawyer that she explained to contact her husband and he would handle the paperwork. This entire process as been one giant headache. These people are rude, unethical and only care about making money.
I just went to Castle Rock Bulldogs to see if people are still buying puppies from these unscrupulous, disgusting brokers. Remember if you buy from a broker you might just as well buy from a pet store. They both get their dogs from PUPPY MILLERS, PUPPY AUCTION or Joe Blow on Rural Rd, Ohio, ETC. I was appalled. First if you read the info on the puppies you will find that if they (CRB)are the breeder of the puppy they tell you the name of the mother & sometimes the father. If they BROKER the puppy (someone else bred it) about all they tell you is HOW MUCH $$$$ they are selling it for. While they spent time putting all kinds of cute stuff on these often sick puppies to lure you into giving them your hard earned money, look closely at the pictures, those poor puppies nails are so long they are curling back like talons. I purchased one of these unhealthy puppies from them thinking it was bred by CRB, only to find out it was bred by a known PUPPYMILL AUCTIONER, David Yoder, Rural Rd, Millersburg, Ohio, heart of OHIO'S PUPPYMILLS. That poor puppy had, ear mites, coccidia and a #6 heart murmur. Took them to court and won, but they are such shysters that they don't keep any money in their accounts because there are soooooooo many people suing them. This is not the kind of puppy breeder you want to deal with. It will only bring you a sick puppy, heartbreak and loss of money. Please make sure no matter which breeder you use, visit the home, make sure you can see at the very least the mother, be given info on the dad and most of all be sure the name CRB is the transferring party on the AKC papers, if it is any other name!!! Then CRB did NOT breed that puppy and you have no clue about it's parents, health or socialization. Do not put a deposit on these puppies till you get that info. Once you give them a deposit they will sell you any thing no matter how sick the puppy is and you WILL NOT RECOVER ONE DIME!!!
