Caribbean Cruise Line Reviews

I paid for a trip to include staying at the marriot in Ft lauderdale and staying at the Grand Lucayan in the bahamas. I transferred this trip to my niece for a wedding present and now they have assigned her to stay at the island seas resort in the bahamas and the Ramanda in Ft lauderdale.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. They will STEAL your money! Be forewarned. I spent $800 with them and they changed their plans that you pay for without sending letters and basically make it impossible for you to take the trip. Quick synopsis... I bought the trip which included a flight, a car, stay in Florida, and trip to the Bahamas. When I went to book the trip they said the flight was no longer included. I didn't get made I said, okay will let me get an extension because I didn't have $800 for 2 tickets plus $300 for passports. So I think it was $80 for the extension. This year I was not able to go so I called to pay for the extension.

When I called the lady said they no longer offed the extension so I would have to pay for an up grade for $149. Well it's Christmas time I didn't have the money. I called back 4 weeks later a man said it would be $299 AND I had to use it by July 2018! That's 6 months away! The last lady said $149 and I have another year! So I hung up and decided to call and speak to a manger. I had to tell the lady what I wanted before I could speak to him and she said it would be $396 but I could use it in a year! WTF! I talked to the manger and explained to him that I had received no type of letter explaining the changes in your policy, and I have never gotten mad or asked to speak to a manager one time. I said to him can you please help me out with this. Long story short he said no, I would have to pay the $396. He did not even try and deny not sending any type of notification on their policy changes. So I am out $800! They will not even give any type of refunds!

Breach of or modification of my contract with Grand Bahama Cruises / Holiday Cruise lines, P.O. Box, 24885, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33307800 237 3603. The original contract was two parts, part one was an option to go to Disney and or Ft. Lauderdale; I opted for Ft. Lauderdale August 8 thru the 15th. When I arrived there I was directed to the visitors center that’s when I was hit with you have to attend an orientation at some dump called “Vacation Villages.” I was a tour date and time of Aug. 9, at 2 P.M. So in spite of how I was feeling, I went and when I got there they said that the young lady that scheduled me made a mistake and I would have to come back another day, I said no way, I had met my obligation as per your request and I have made other plans while I was in Florida. I spoke with the greeters at the front desk, who put me on the phone with the manager, Ian at 954 389, who stated he would take care of the matter. (He obviously gave me the run around).

When I got back to N.Y., I called Holiday Cruise Lines (who initially sold me the contract) at 1 800 237 3503 for their assistance and they stated that according to their records I had refused to go on the tour and that was nothing they could do unless I went back down for the a tour another time. I reached out once again to Ian and once again he gave me the run around. For the record I have and I am forwarding to all of the paper work from the when I visited the “Dump,” RE: Vacation Village and my hand written notes.

As to part two of the package, the cruise for December 9 thru December 16, 2017, it was for a round trip cruise on the Grand Celebration to the Bahamas staying at the Grand Lucayan Beach an all Inclusive Resort and Spa. (Which I am very familiar with and I specifically booked the trip for that reason). Not only did they want me to see the Time Share, they switched the hotel to the Wingham. They also recently informed that the cruise ship will not be available until the middle of January due to the previous hurricanes in the area. And if I could agree to a future date then they could accommodate me on a ferry to the Bahamas. The bottom line and the real issue was my having to go see a Time Share in order to get my cruise tickets, and note that this was never ever indicated to verbally or in writing when I purchased the original package, had this been the case I would have never purchased the package.

There should be a law against companies like this. I did not get everything I paid for. To begin, I received an offer for a Vacation discount for 2 days in a resort hotel in a city of my choice plus a 2 day cruise to the Bahamas for up to 4 people for $469. When I called the 800 number I spoke to an agent that told me they were a new travel agency. This promotion was to spread the agency name. NOT once did they say it was a TIMESHARE promotion. I was instructed to go to the Welcome Center at the Ramada Inn in Ft. Lauderdale to get my cruise tickets on the Grand Celebration. Luckly I live in Florida so it was just a 3 hour drive.

When we arrived, we were not impressed with the condition of the outside of the hotel. The windows looked like the would fall out with a strong wind and the parking lot was ill kept. The Welcome Center was set up in the conference room of the hotel. After standing in line for about an hour, we were finally checked in and told we had an 8:30 appointment to tour a Vacation Resort (which I was suppose to be staying 2 days). We were given a room in the 3rd rate hotel. To give it a 2 star rating was being generous. Compelled to check for bed bugs we found black hair between the sheets. There was mildew around the corners of the window over the air conditioner and rusty stains in the bathroom sink. I was so disgusted, it only took 5 minuets looking around the room to decide to move to a different hotel. We moved to a better hotel at additional cost to us.

The next morning we went to the Vacation Village to collect my cruise tickets only to be told we had to take the "TOUR" We were told the tour was only about 2 hours. I told the salesman up front "I only wanted my tickets which were paid for" We were ushered into a room with about twenty other suckers, shown pictures of the idea of a Vacation Package from the RCI ambassador. Then taken to another room for more sales pitch repeating the same information we had just heard from the ambassador. That was general info. Now we were getting a personalized offer which was $28000. I said NOT INTERESTED. The salesman then showed us two of the accomodations offered and also of the neighborhood shopping area, then back to the room again. I said "Just give me my tickets and let me go." He said the manager has to sign the voucher, so I said to take it to the manager and have him sign it. The manager finally came over and gave us a lower offer of $13000. Then $9000 I said NOT Interested! He kept looking at me with a puzzled look and kept asking me why I was not interested. I said they were holding my cruise tickets hostage and that I had already paid the ransom price with my time wasted and my money. Finally, after 5 hours of high pressure sales we were given the signed voucher, but before we could get out the door, the offer was lowered to $4000 and that the Welcome Center back at the Ramada Inn had my tickets. So another 30 min back accross town to get tickets which we didn't need. Our names were already preregistered.

So my 2 days in a resort hotel was shot to H--L. The Grand Celebration was not too bad if you don't mind the old ship. Previously the Carnival Celebration (1987-2008) Then sold. To get to the dining room you have to go up to go down. The ship was ok until they fired up the engines at 2:30 AM. It can be very frightening racket and vibrations pretty bad. Sounded like they ran aground and was scaping on the bottom. The service was fair but you are automatically charged $12 dollars per person per day plus fuel surcharge and other insedentals. The Stellar Prime dining servers were not bad. Menu could be improved. Left side is complimentary but if you want better, you have to order from the Right side but you pay additional. Steak and Lobster was like $27. Anything other than water, you pay extra. The Main loung was rather small and the entertainment was less than desired. When you get into Freeport, Port Lacaya, DON'T GO ON SUNDAYS. Unless you are just wanting off the ship to walk around, all the shopping is closed, and a round trip taxi to Port Lacaya will cost $10 per person. They don't tell you everything is closed until after they have your money. If you want to zip through customs with the Simple Disemparkation, make sure all parties in your group has passports. Otherwise you have to wait in line with the ones that has only birthcertificates. Which takes like about 1-2 hours to get through customs.

Received phone call stating I was chosen for cruise, Free, just had to pay $118.00 for two for taxes . Went through the whole sales pitch The Caribbean cruise line? They went to tell me that I would have ten days between Florida and 4 nights on the Grand LUCAYAN ISLAND AND TWO TO FOUR NIGHTS IN FLORIDA. I talked to many salesman over like the 45 min phone call, as they fed me their pitch. I told them I had been on cruise before but wanted to take my girlfreind and possibly get married on island , so they stated we will give you a discount for wedding present? They kept trying to sale me the cruise , I finally said yes , but asked the rep four times if I had to do a time share he said no, I gave them my information, and startEd making my payments, I had eighteen months to use my vacation.

I planned my vacation two months early, which was 2-16-2016. The cruise line sent me my itenirary, and was I ever upset when I received it and seen that I had to do a timeshare after being told four times that I didn't have to do one! I immediately called the reservations line and complained and asked for a refund , stated I could get one but only would be half of what I paid? I told the lady I believe her name was Queen? That it was a bunch of bs and lots more , say I was p.o. All she said was she could talk to her supervisor and see what they can do. Maybe 10 min. Later they called back said they would upgrade my room at motel? So , I calmed down.

Well it's the day of the trip, flew to Fort Lauderdale , the reservations called me two weeks prior said they had to change my rental to budget, because Alamo didn't take debit cards, and went over itinerary , I said fine, well we arrived in florida and went to budget waited in the long lines for over an hour, got to counter no rental at budget? My blood is boiling know! Asked what I was suppose to do? Went outside tried to call reservations and well well, by no surprise couldn't get ahold of no one, no one was answering phones , or busy? I decided to chance alamo rental and , God was on my side cause my car was still on hold at Alamo.

Drove to Ramada , couldn't check in to room until 3pm, and my room has been on reservation for months. This motel was suppose to be an elegant motel, were movie star stay, this was the line I was fed, by sales man, more bs. it was a run down place that could use to fixed up alot, people rude, once we were in we went to room asked maid for towels, she asked what room and we put do not disturb sign on door, . my girl friend was changing and the door opens up? Didn't understand that? We did it again the next day and girlfriend set a trap and even with sign on the doors she came in again,

i went to time share the next day was only suppose to be 2 hours was there 4, they were pissy cause I came to timeshare n didn't buy, told them was told I didn't have to do timeshare, that was first day lost on vacation, before getting tickets the day of cruise 45 min. Before going to port you have to do another timeshare to get your boarding passes. We are finally on boat, says to board by noon, don't leave till 6 pm, another lost day vacation? We arrive in Bahamas grand lucayan, all inclusive , more waiting in line check in your given a beeper when room is ready, at five , I had to raise Cain just to get room , another day lost , all meals and liqueur included , we wasn't even able to book a reservation for dinner everything full? We ate at the sub shop. The last day a guess told us of a place to eat?. I feel that they got my money and my irk friend I got royally screwed out of our money and made sure to tell the other guest that was getting ready to take this trip What to do so at least they could enjoy their time since we did not. I would never recommend this cruise line to any one. My next trip will be with carnival, and after all this mess we did not get married as planned to disappointed.
