Capital Recovery Services Reviews

Received multiple calls from a local area code in a row and only 1 voicemail stating "I was part of a lawsuit and there would be criminal charges." (My brother, father, and mother also got the same calls and not sure why 2 of them did since they would have never had their number) I called the number they gave me in the voice mail (855-208-5402) back and the woman took my phone number, informed me I had an outstanding debt with an auto loan I had paid off 2 years ago. I tried explaining to her I had paid it off and she got very defensive and told me to fax the charge off notice with in 48 hours or I'll have criminal charges against myself and my mother who was also on the original loan. She kept rambling about the criminal charges and wouldn't give me the fax number and told me to stop interrupting her. I said "u said I need to fax the paper but haven't given me the fax number" she got very pissed because I had raised my voice at this point from frustration. She rattled the fax number off so fast I missed it and she said "u have 48 hrs to fax it to me. If I don't get it we'll see your a*s in criminal court!" (Yelling at me at this point) and then hung up. After composing myself I called back and got someone else named Debra. I asked for the physical address (so I can certify mail the paper for paper trail) and she said they do not have one and gave me the fax number instead.

These clowns started calling me repeatedly in February (2017), leaving voice-mails (which of course I had to delete), about a supposed collections thing, under an ex-spouse's family member. Different last name, different association. So, explain that. Strictly by accident, I answered one of their dozenth calls, to be connected with a gal who asked (once again) for the supposed account individual. I politely told her that she had the wrong number, and the B%&^% then proceeded to ask ME for my full name, SSN, and phone! Un-freaking believable. When I refused, she very NASTILY repeated her refrain, and I promptly hung up on her.

This company tried to convince me to meet with an employee, claiming they found money that belongs to me. They would not give any more information about the contract or fees until i met with someone. Only that they charge a percentage. I mentioned to the woman that they can make up a different percentage number to charge for each individual, and I asked , how do I know that is fair. Finally after talking to the manager, she said 50%!!! There are free ways to do it!

Cpompany sent me a phony postcard saying that they found some money under my name and I need to contact them to claim it.

After reading their website FAQ, it sure sounds like a scam. I also read another review online that these guys ask for your SSN and DL and possibly sell that info.
