Capital One Reviews

I went thru a divorce and we were going to file bankruptcy and then he changed his mind at the last minute. My capital one credit card had about 1600 worth of charges on it

The card went thru a collections agency. When I called the collection agency, because my balance balooned over to 2100. They said I had to contact Capital one regarding it. I wrote Capital one and asked them to lower the settlement rate,, they said no...and in the letter they said to contact the collection agency

I dont make a lot of $ and I have a little one to support, plus rent utilities, car insurance, childcare costs and this extra 500 is making me sick to my stomach

I was financed by capital one 2yrs. ago I've never made a late payment & overly bought insurance (great customer.) I total my vehicle & now my job my home & life is on the line waiting for capital one to process a check from my insurance. Oh & then get started on gap then a recourse letter. I've found a replacement that I can't get financed because on the books I appear upside down (negative equity) when I'm actually not...... They're claiming to not have received the check from my insurance which was mailed out 8 days ago (to their p.o. box) & can't do anything to help me. They refused to send me the letter of Guarantee (until I fussed) or any documents for up to five days. I truly thought we had a rapport & hoped capital one would fund a new loan for me but would rather go elsewhere (even if it costs more) as capital one has been difficult throughout this procedure.

I was checking my credit score on wallethub and I found the inquiry about an account opened on July 1st 2016 but I haven't a clue who opened that account because I leave all the way in Boston Massachusetts. I'd like to clear this ASAP

I recently check my credit report on Credit KArma and noticed a account with Capital One that I was not aware of. I had a capital one card that was in collections and had received notices to pay off, but it was for a minimum amount. This account is maxed out to close to $13,000. The crazy thing is the payments are up to date. I have gradually been working on old outstanding bills and knew I was getting to place of being out of debt. So it makes sense now why I couldn't get approved for credit and why I'm offered such high interest rates. This Crazy. How can people do this

I did not receive noticed and I'm extremely concerned with Capitalone actions and state troopers who assisted in the operation. Capital One Auto Finance, repossessed without any forms of written letters or documentation of default. State troopers assisted them and did removed car from driveway by use of threats and verbal force to arrest. Troopers used threats to arrest for obstruction of justice, if I do not get out of the vehicle, trooper stated, "he'd break the window and placed me under arrest". Troopers should not assist themselves in a civil matter and towing should be achieved only by peaceful means by the tow driver.

On November 19, 2015, I purchased two First Class, round trip tickets from Boston to Rome on Alitalia using the Capital One Rewards Travel website. The tickets were purchased as a birthday present for my wife, but our entire trip was ruined by Capital One’s fraudulent activity.

On Saturday, July 16, 2016, the day we were supposed to depart for Rome (after flying all the way across the country from Los Angeles to Boston), I tried to check into our flight. Once I reached the seat selection screen on Alitalia’s website, I was only given the option to select Premium Economy seats notwithstanding the fact that I clearly purchased First Class tickets as evidenced by the attached reservations from the Capital One Reward Travel website. I immediately called Alitalia to ask why I could not check into First Class, and they said the tickets in their reservation system showed up as Premium Economy, not First Class. I had a Capitol One Master Card Opened in 2008, I lost my job and it was charged off in 2010. I currently have 2 Capitol One VISAs both paid on time every month. Capitol One's Attorney Jacques Machol Of Machol & Johannes 700 17th Street Suite 200, Denver, CO 80202 on March 1, 2011 sent 3 process servers to my home at 9:15 p.m. I noticed they were writing my license plate number down, when I asked them to leave they wouldn't. My husband also asked them to leave, they wouldn't sat outside our home trying to intimidate us for about 2 hours until we called the police, who made them leave. When they saw it was the police they tried to speed away but the police stopped them we were going to file harassment charges. We Never heard from Machol & Johannes after that. We applied for a Mortgage Dec 28 2015 and found out Capitol One had put this old debt on my credit report on Jan 11, 2016 as if it was a brand new debt when I called Capitol One the first representative told me she would have it deleted from all 3 credit reports but couldn't and had to transfer me to another girl that told me it had been charged off and to contact the attorney, when I asked why it was Capitol One trying to put an old Account on my credit report as new she had no answer. Today, Jan 22,2016 I found out that Machol & Johannes still representing Capitol One for this charged off account has garnished my wages at my new job. I have never been notified and only found out because I checked my Paycheck Stub. Colorado statue of limitations is 6 years. The Credit Limit was $2000, Capitol One Charged Exorbitant Overlimit Fees, After it was charged off making me owe $5387.00. I have no public records and have worked hard to get my credit where it needs to be. Because Of Capitol One Banks and their Attorney's illegal business practices I am unable to have my name put on a mortgage and when the Process servers were sent and would not leave violating me and my family's constitutional right to privacy. From what I understand, per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, they cannot send anyone past the 9:00 pm hour. Please Help me with this situation with Capitol One. I have filed Complaints with the Consumer Protection, Capitol One has their "corporate office" call leave a message saying they were :working on it" then after numerous (at least 10) voice mails they call back and say they are "still working on it" and then I'm not working on your case anymore, my co-worker is, another 10 voice mails later, still no call back. On Feb 15th, 2016 Captial Ones Attorney Machol & Johannes answered the Consumer Protection complaint. saying that Captiol One Contacted Them and they were "handling it" Nothing has been done, I am still being garnished and that was 2 weeks ago and Captial One is continuously ignoring my complaint and doing nothing, thinking I will go away, but I will not go away, until this garnishment is completely stopped and my credit report is updated to positive status. I have only been at this job for 4 months and was not even aware that I was being garnished until I saw my checkstub.and it was quite a shock when I finally was mailed a copy of the garnishment papers I saw they were from 2011, and was again shocked that Capital One would go so far and violate Colorado laws.

I have a successful business selling millions of dollars of merchandise every year. I have been in business for 5 years and I was going to be making large purchases from shops in Europe and I needed a debit card or credit card that could fit my needs.

Capital One offered me a debit card for my business with no foreign transactions fee. I told them when I first came to the bank that the only reason that I needed the debit card was because I would be making debit card purchases at specific shops in europe for amounts up to $250,000. They told me that this debit card (spark visa) would be perfect for me and all I would need to do is call in before and make sure someone can approve the transaction for that date, of that amount, in that country.

Because my purchases are large and my margins are small, having no exchange fee is extremely important. I reminded my bankers again and again of the dates that I would be travelling and the amount that I would be spending and they assured me again and again that it would be no problem.

Finally I boarded my flight and 8 hours later I landed in the country where I was supposed to buy my merchandise. I was supposed to make the purchase on my debit card and leave the same day. When I tried to swipe my card it would not work, when I called they said it was not problem and they would have it fixed and again I swipped and nothing happend. I was then told that I am only allowed to make a maximium debit card purchase of $20,000 per day even though I had $250,000 in my account and every other debit card I have ever used has not had this limit.

I then spent the next week and a half sleeping at a cheap hotel away from my family trying to figure out how to get my money from the U.S. to this shop without paying insanley high transactions fees. Capital one offeed to do the transaction for 3% which is a massive commission compared to the feeless transaction that would have taken place had the debit card worked as promised.

I spent hours on the phone with them begging them to make something happen but ultimately they ignored me and I had to stay in a forigen country for a week and a half as they broke promise after promise until i finally found a forex company that would only cost me half a percent to change the money. By the time I had given up on Capital one the exchange rate had shifted to a very unfavorable rate. I can show exactly how much I would have been charged as the Visa/Mastercard exchange rate for each day are posted publicly on the website and it can be reviewed for any privious date.

The result of the lies I was told to gain my buiness was that I lost over $4000 in exchange rate, lost a week and a half that I could have been working, and had to stay in a cheap hotel away from my family. I called customer service and the office of the president and they later told me that they would not be compensating me dispite the fact that I can show that I was lied to. Capital one has done nothing but lie to me and I have many of these lies documented as well as proof of the exact amount that I lost because of these lies.

Then once you reply they will call you and tell you that you only have to buy a greendot card and put 200 dollars on it they will not take atm or bank debit cards, so big red flag right there. Then you will send them the greendot with 200 dollar's then they will tell you that your money will be deposited into your account there for you have to give them your routing number so they have all your bank info as well. Then you will not receive any cash so there for you will call them back and they will ******** you and say you have to pay an additional 350 dollar tax fee, on top of your 200 you already paid, so please do not fall for it who ever reads this looking these ******** up. And then they will make up some more ******** and say you have to pay them an additional fee of 400 and they will bleed you dry until u have no more money if you fall for there scam. On the phone you can tell that they are all Indian and they make up these ridiculous American names so who ever reads this looking them up take there number down and report it right away before they change it, so hopefully if they are in the USA you can report them to the authorities and have these guys arrested they are professional con men and need to.

I received an email from Alex White stating I was approved for a loan of $5000. I had to purchase a My Vanilla card and load $80 on it for processing fee. Then was told I needed to buy an insurance policy for $280 from a bank to ensure they were protected. Then after buying that I was told it wold cost another $300 to transfer the money to me. I tried to register the My Vanilla cards I had purchased and found out they were useless to me. So here I am out over $500 and no money to pay bills I desperately need that money for. Please do not fall for this scam.

Yesterday I received an e-mail about a plan approval I had received from this company called capital one fast cash. I had then proceeded to call them to find out the details for me to collect this loan of $5000 which I had been approved for. I was informed that die to my low credit score I would be required to purchase a Myvanilla prepaid debit card and deposit an amount of $80 to cover the transaction fee. After I did so I was told that I would receive the $5000 by 8:30 the next morning. Luckily my wife who had been with me the whole time said that we should look up this company. Which we did and found out there were numerous scam reports written about this so called loan company. They even had the audacity to contact me the next day when I was to receive the $5000 to get me to purchase another card and deposit $320 to complete the loan process. I told them I wanted to cancel my loan and be refunded my $80 and they hung up on me and told me that I'm making a big deal over $80 and I can't buy much with $80 anyway. Beware of this elicit scam

We were told we were approved for a $6500 loan and only had to pay $180 to get money. Documents were emailed to us and looked good. $180 was paid and they kept coming up with other things we had to pay for. When we tried to cancel and get our money back they said we had to pay a $60 cancellation fee

  • Dec 9, 2015

I received a phone call from Andrew Williams stating that I got approved for a $4,500 loan. He told me to check my email because he sent me a document I need to sign. So I did just that cause I thought it was legit. He then told me to purchase a "My Vanilla" prepaid card and upload $90 to it. So I did just that, meanwhile he was going over things with me about my final step he then said I needed to purchase another "My Vanilla " prepaid card but this time upload $230. I knew right then it was to good to be true and that it was a scam so I begin researching and that's when I stumbled across this site. So I contacted him and asked was this some kind of scam. He immediately caught an attitude with me and stated "if this was a scam do you think I would've been calling you everyday for the card number when I have your bank information on file.

CAPITAL ONE BANK USA NA PO BOX 30281 SALT LAKE CITY, UT 84130 (800) 955-7070 This company is on my credit report for TransUnion and Experian through Credit Karma when I first signed up with credit, about a year ago! However only today did I realize I need to do something about it, copy the information posted it in my browser and realized it's not just me that this company has done this too! I have never had a card for this company and they are stating that I have an open balance and open account since 2003 for the balance of $5,100 and it says that I am up to date on all my payments??? I've never had a card ever through this company nor have I ever had a car that has had that large of a credit amount lol In all seriousness, this is a very huge deal considering these people are messing with so many people's credit scores including my own, and I'm trying to move out all on my own at 33 and I'm trying to build my credit and I find something out like this! I don't understand why this hasn't been taken care of by our government because there are endless reports of this exact company on so many people's credit reports online! Please help find this out find who this is and tell me how I can get this off of my credit report! Thank you so much for your time have a great holiday :-)

Cop-a-Toll One 4 Me

Last week I tried to build up my credit by attempting to get a credit card. My problem was that I had no credit history so I decided to bite the bullet and get a credit card. At first it wasn't about Cop a Toll One. I was on one of those free credit repair sites and they listed the top 5 credit cards that someone with my "below average" credit rating, might qualify for. So i went down the list of five cards. The 3rd and 4th cards were through Capitol One. Within 5 minutes, both Cap One cards denied me the opportunity to build my credit through them. This is important to me since Cap One was the only bank in that top 5 list that bothered to call me back and miraclously embrace my circumstances. They were so different than the cold-hearted bankers who showed no mercy or understanding when severing all potential hope for help. He proudly proclaimed that Capitol One had approved me for a $2000 personal Loan. I think I remember actually getting excited over the prospect for an entire 3 minutes until he then said i would need to get a $50 money card from Walmart, (much the same way the person before me described it). I was to load the card with $50 that I naturally assumed was coming from my guaranteed funds which he was to place in my account. When I verified this arrangement, he said no. I would need to put $50 of my own money onto the card. From that point forward, i stopped paying attention to his song and dance. That was the moment I knew he was blowing smoke. First of all it was difficult to believe Cap One would want to change their stance on giving me a loan that they had already denied twice the day before. Secondly, having to set up this card for payment to them and making sure it would "work", seemed a bit odd for a man who didn't have any money, thus my attempts to get a loan! Last of all, this man knew my checking account number and routing number which made me feel more at ease especially since I had dealings with Cap One the day before. My mind was endorsing this man while I was simultaneously running up one red flag after another. By the time we hung up the phone and I was given my sacred orders to go forth and create a money card for my scammin man, I had decided this was not a good plan. I was still mulling his words over in my head. I called him back an hour later but when he answered before i could dial extension 325, I knew he was full of it. I played along for the remainder of the day with no intention of creating his money card. That was two days ago. I've received no less than 3 calls a day from him ever since. One more thing. His name changed to Justin Brown but he still used the same extension as the one given to the person who wrote in just prior to me. I thought ole Justin sounded kinda funny with that Middle Eastern dialectl. Either this white boy was born and raised in Kuzscamubad, Pakistan or this brown boy came to the States and felt so grateful for being here that he felt compelled to change Kabib Hazuur to Justin Brown. Just calling it the way it appears. I am not convinced he is affiliated with the bank but I am convinced he's a decent hacker or has contacts on the inside. He knew enough to fool some people. Very sad!

I've had several accounts through Cap One, everything from auto loans to business and personal accounts. A few months back, I opened up a Venture credit card through Cap One, and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. Recently, I called into Cap One's customer service to ask a quick question about the card, and when the rep picked up, she heard my question and told me that she would tranfer me to the proper department; however, she then transfered me to the fraud department. The person in the fraud deparment asked me several question to confirm my identity, then said that my account was restricted due to potential fraud. I asked if he would explain further, and he said he would not speak further about it until I mailed in a copy of my drivers license and social security (funny that he had taken the time to verify my identity just before he said that he could not speak to me about the matter). My wife manages the CC fraud department at her bank, so I asked her if these cagey practices were at all necessary. She assured me that after I confirmed my identity, standard protocol should have been to move on and open my account back, then discuss potential concerns as necessary. Keep in mind that when I spoke to the fraud rep, and eventually the fraud rep supervisor, I offered to walk into my local Cap One location and identify myself, but that would have been unacceptable for them. Please save any comments about how I'm being overly critical of the bank; my philosphy is that companies with whom I do business should keep in mind that they work for me. I've recently begun a process of making a list of things that complicate my life, and eliminating those things from my life. After many great years of business relationship, Cap One has made that list.

Months ago I received a "Pre-Paid" credit card form Capitol One. I cut it up and threw it in the trash.

Today I'n checking my credit report and I get a popup saying I have a new credit card. I open it and find that it's a Capitol One credit card. I immediately called capitol one, but their customer lack-of-service said she didn't know what to do and put me on hold... for 20 minutes! Another person came on the line and I told her I was upset and needed to talk to a supervisor, and she promptly hung up on me. I made two more efforts to call and the best I got from one lady was "Ok, fine. what do you want me to do?" and the worst was getting hung up on if I asked for a supervisor.

So I started searching the internet and found what was supposed to be a fax number to Capitol One's corprate offices in Salt Lake City, UT. I sent a fax and I made it clear in the fax that I'll take no responseability for anything charged on the card or for paying any bills.

I'm still waiting on any response.

Anyone wanting the number just email me and I'll pass it out.

David Alexander said he was a loan officer with Capitol Bank, and told me I was approved for a $2500. loan which would be put into my account in o e hour. He told me in order to make my monthly payments of $95.00 I would have to purchase a Walmart pre-paid card and load $50.00 to make sure it worked, and for me to call him with all the information at (786) 605-0575 Extension 325. Thank God my husband told me to google Mr. Alexander, that's how I found out he is a scammed.
