Bullseye The Granite Guy Reviews

  • Dec 2, 2019

Melinda is an abusive owner who consistently uses fear to manipulate employees into forced OT. She is a bully, and extraordinarily clever when it comes to leveraging employees who don’t know any better. She skirts the law and claims ignorance when called on it.

She terminated me within my 2 week resignation notice as a knee jerk reaction to the reality of the state of her failing company, only to reach out days later to claim she never terminated me, only suspended me. This was never discussed with me and in the days that followed my 'termination’ she did not return any of my calls, emails or texts to her personal phone asking for clarification.

It was only upon realizing she would have to pay severance that she contacted me well outside business hours to try and twist events to her favour. I have a medical condition that requires biweekly checkups and she would consistently make me feel like I was doing the company wrong by requesting the times off. To be sure, it is illegal to prevent an employee from medical appointments.

I had worked a 10 hour day starting at 4am doing a slab pickup. And when I returned to the site and was leaving, Melinda tried to make me stay stating that 'since you’ve had a short day we expect you to work until at least 3pm. When I did not abide as these were not the terms previously laid out for me when doing slab pickups, she vindictively targeted me and the bullying and harassment became unbearable.

Furthermore, both her and Chris forced mandatory overtime for all 4 staff for the remainder of the week, citing the hour and a half they expected me to work that day as the reason. This means that my hour and a half absence was equal to 4 days times 4 employees at 2 hours each. To be clear 1.5 hours one day meant a total of 32 hours of overtime 'to make up for the time I took off’.
