Branson's Nantucket - Fractional Ownership Presentation Branson Missouri

You only have to ask one question when visiting a Branson Nantucket Timeshare presentation: How many points do I need to vacation 1 week a year in a 1 or 2 bedroom unit, without booking under 45 days until traveling? That will affect the rest of the presentation.

Rick was pitching 7000 pts (14k biannually) for a 2br unit one week a year. With no other explanation, that sounded good. Guess what! The pitch is incomplete. I'm used to at least 1 1/2 weeks a year in the places I want to go every year in a 2 br unit. What I found out after I was stuck is (in a text after several emails, voicemails and texts), I have to book what and where is available under 45 days to make those points work and maybe that’s one week every other year. If you're in a timeshare already, you know that under 45 days is called leftovers in places you may not normally go or want to go. So, what I really bought was limitations and places I don’t go. If you're like me, you won't see that as a value even if you like the price.

What I found: As of October 2017, low peak was January. 1 bedroom for 1 week is 14K points vs. peak time (around June) and the same unit is 56k points and it varies in between.

You must have them show you how many points you need to book a 2 br unit outside of a 45 day booking window to confirm the points they are pitching have value. 7k to 14k has limited value and I promise you, purchasing 56k points will give you sticker shock. Whatever he tells you, verify by calling this number: 833-891-4099 (current as of 10/30/17) or ask him to show you the catalogue or online. When I called with my 14K points for a vacation back East, my heart sunk when the Branson RCI person told me 14k points wasn't enough for anything, any time. She didn't even soften it with the "45 day" program.

Once you know how many points you need (and the associated maintenance fee) to vacation the way you want, then you’ll know the price and can decide if the ROI is worth it compared to your current timeshare or even as a new purchase.

The second tip: Visit early in your vacation. You have a 5 day rescission period in MO. You want time to deal with them in person if you want to cancel. AND visiting early gives you time to test your purchase. Call to make a reservation where and when you want to go just see what your points will buy you.

Here’s a kicker: You have one day to cancel a booking or your refund is pro-rated; you only have the one day to receive a full refund. Lots of variety but you book it; you own it. If you find something better, you can’t cancel and book. I miss that feature about Worldmark.

Here’s another kicker: You can’t book directly with RCI. You have to call Branson and they transfer you.

Long story short, you’ll have an out of pocket expense to buy Nantucket points and you could end up with less than you need and/or what you traded in and paid for the privilege of doing so. Verify what you need and if it still has value, enjoy your purchase. If you can’t verify, walk away.

As for me, I think I'll eventually go back to Worldmark. I was sold what I bought and there were no surprises. It just cost me my initial WM investment and a $11,000 to figure that out. Do you want a company that thinks like PT Barnum, i.e. There's a sucker born every minute?
