Don't go here, ever! Scammers work here and take advantage of women (and probably some men as well). I am a mechanic and used to use them from time to time. I was out of town and asked my wife to have the rear brake inspected and repaired. They told her that the noise was a rusted, broken and hanging suspension links and quoted replacing sway bars and all the suspension links for almost $2000.00. I have photo proof of the suspension and it is perfect! I have also had the car inspected by a second shop and they confirmed nothing was wrong with the suspension. They are con artists and have attempted to committed a $2000.00 fraud against my wife.

I took a pickup to this business in December for a brake inspection. A call from their manager advised the front brakes required replacement. I authorized repair as a general up sell they offered to do other works most of which I declined. They left the air filter disconnected and did work I did not authorize. Nonetheless I paid for the works.

Some 3 months later and around 6,000 miles the brakes failed. Metal to metal. It cost $694.77 to repair in addition to paying for staff to take the vehicle in for repair on a Sunday. Contacting brakes plus they deny liability and offered $99.00. Obviously, there is a difference of almost $600.00 I’m put just on the direct repair cost.

I’ve decided to take legal action against Brakes Plus. Brakes should last much more than 3 months and 6000 miles. My experience with this business and their evasive attitude leaves a lot to be desired. Standby for updates on the court case!!!!

Falsely claimed brake fluid contamination in order to replace all associated parts at a cost of $1751.13

Took to dealer for repair. Brake fluid not contaminated.

Knowing i had at least one hose that needed replaced i took my car to brakes plus only because it was the nearest auto repair shop to the location my car needed towed from. Told them i had at least one hose that needed replaced. After them looking at the car they called me and told me that all of my hoses were cracked and needed replaced and i also needed to replace the secondary water pump. I told them do it fix it. I recieved a phone call a day or two later saying my car was ready to be picked up. I couldnt get there before they closed so i asked them to leave the key in the car in the lot and i paid them over the phone with credit card. Now my mistake was i trusted them and did not even look at the reciept. I just trusted they did what was asked of them and put the reciept in my glove box.

Went on the trip, we stopped after a few hours of driving to stop and eat. When we got out of car coolant was gushing out of my car. Now my car wont even start. So i have to have car towed again to nearest shop there. They tell me due to driving my car and running it out of coolant due to all the leaky hoses my head gasket has blown.

So i call Brakes Plus and tell the mechanic whats going on. He not only accuses me of never telling them to fix the hoses he laughs at my situation. Im out of state with 2 children and my g/f and no vehicle. We make several more calls to the store manager and the regional manager and then even higher than that and they will not except responsibility for their neglegence. They continue saying they werent told to replace the hoses. When indeed this is the reason i took the car in for repair, knowing i had at least one bad hose and coolant was leaking. When this is what i took the car in for, this is what they were told to fix. If you call me and say your car needs all the hoses replaced why would i tell you not to fix it and then go out of state with the car on a 7 hour trip. Am i a moran, i think not.

My car is a audi, very difficult to work on. My thoughts are the mechanic didnt want to screw with it so he didnt even write on the ticket that i told them to replace all the hoses and the water pump. He only wrote it up for the water pump. This way there is no evidence that i told them to do it. Very dishonest, very poor customer service. I would have them rather tell me they didnt want to replace the hoses because it is a pain in the but. Rather than let me think the car has been fixed and take it on a trip and have this happen. Dont take your car there for any reason. close or not dont take it there. pay to have it towed somewhere else if need be. I will never not look at a reciept again..But they should be liable for getting my car back, replacing me with a car or paying whatever it takes to get my car up to par again and back to me.

Sicne the beginning of 2015 I have had nothing but problems with this company. It started in January on 2015. I took my car to this company because I had steam coming up off my motor. Right in front of the drivers. I first took my car to a G.M. company explained what was going on and gave them permission to do a diagnostics test. Explaining that the steam was coming up off the motor in front of the car. they came back to me with I needed a water pump and a timing chain and it would be close to 1900 dollars to repair. Frist and most importantly the water pump and timing chain are on the other side of the vehicle. So i contacted a couple other company's Brakes Plus was one of them. There were 2 others but no reason to bring them in since they did not touch my car. Now after G.M. told me that this was what they found i shook my head thinking it's not even on the same side of the motor. So i called Brakes Plus told them what G.M. said and they told me to bring it in and let them do a diagnostics. If they found the same problem they would threw the cost of the diagnostics into the cost of the repair. Refreshing an honest company i thought. Do i took them the car and let them do a diagnostics on January 5th of 2015. They called me later that day to tell me that it was the water pump and timing chain. I thought could I be wrong. I am not a mechanic But I have been driving tow truck off and on for the last 25 years so i know a little about cars. Well thinking i was wrong i autherized the repairs to the tune of almost 1200 dollars. Now it Saturday January 10th and i get a call from Brakes Plus. The shop manager told me on the phone that the work on the timing chain and water pump was completed. but know there is another problem. well I asked we cant get the cooling system to presure up. We did a presure test on your car and found that the thermostst housing is busted. I told him then that was the problem if the first place. Because the thermostat housing is right in front of the drivers seat. Where I explained to them the problem was in the first place. So basically they rip me off for 1200 dollars becaise if they would have done a proper diagnostics they would have found this was the problem in the beginning. So I had just paid 1450 give or take 10 dollars for a 300 dollar job. heed my warning do not use these people. Now fast forward 6 weeks roughly. My car starts to run real bad. So I took it back to the same place that did my repairs. First thing out of thier mouths we will have to charge you for a diagnostics. I ended up having to rent a car for the day while they did this diagnostics. I get a call that evering from the store manager telling me i had to return the car. Wow this guy has balls i am thinking. So I asked why.. Well one of the parts we put in your car broke and your motor is no longer any good. I about fell out of my rental so i race from the south side of town to the north to try and talk to them but they had closed. So now no sleep trying to figure out what i was going to do. When i woke the next morning i call Brakes Plus spoke to the Manager and said what is going on. He told me to return the rental and come to the shop so he could talk to me. Well I returned the rental and got back to Brakes plus and the Manager told me that a part that was put into my car had broken causing it to totally distroy my engine. He said dont worry we will work it out and get you a new motor. (This was of thier choosing not mine. They pulled a motor from a junk yard i guess because it says on my paperwork it had 95,000 miles on it.) So at this point Brakes Plus had my car twice. 1st time for a week to do a 2 day job and for a month to do a 7 day job. After they got me my car back a month later on a 7 to 10 day job they told me that they would cover the oil changes for the next year. This is now early to mid April and when i went into Brakes Plus for the first oil change. The tech came out to talk to me. Had me worried. So the tech daid to me you have 2 problems needing attention. My mouth dropped to the floor olay what. First your Brakes need attention (This i already knew) And i asked you need a water pump. I was about to explode. I have had enough but the manager tolked me into letting replace that. And in all this time i am thinking are they even changing this part out. So I let them change it out again also they did my brakes I figured they owed me that. a freebe or 2 being as they have Replaced 3 water prmps 2 Timing Chains and 2 Thermostats. So it took three day to do this again. I had to rent a car again. and when i got back to get my car of course the manager was not thier to talk to he took the day off because he knew i would be angery. He Charged me for the brake job tried to charged me for parts i brought to him wanted me to pay for the rental which they caved in and i had to pay for half of that reantal... So I have told you my Horror story with Brakes Plus I pleed with you not to use them if this is the way they treat thier costumers.. You could be thier next well ME. And I dont want that to happen to you. Brakes Plus is a company that spans the nation i believe. This kind of treatment and shotty workmens ship should not be tolerated. I cant tell anyone what to do and I would never. But use your better judgement. You can look at thier own web sites and other patrens that have written things about them. if you have had a issue with this company i can only say thier are other orginization that you can write to stop this kind of theft and fraud.

On Thursday, June 18th I took my Cadillac in to have the AC checked out due to the noiseit had started making and the brakes checked out due to squeaking I also requaested an oil change because I was leaving for California the next day.

.The Manager, Jeff Mankee wrote up the ticket & told me he'd call me afer they had done a full inspection and knew whah needed to be done. He called me later that day and stated that the compressor was bad on the A/C unit so it need to be replaced. Said the brakes didn't need work at that time, but would need it fairly soon.

He siad he wouldn't be able to finish it by the next day, which was Friday, and I said that's ok because I was going out of town. He said ok, and he'd call me on Monday.

I didn't hear from him until I called him on Tuesday the23rd. At which time he stated they were waiiting on Actuators for the dashboard from a dealer & should be in by Thursday, the 25th. I said OK let me know when it's done.

He called me Friday the 26th and said I could come and get my car. When I got there that afternoon, it was very hot & I was rather rushed to get out because I had two of my grandchildren from California with me. As I got into the car the first thing I noticed was the filthy mats and the grease smeared in the back seat.

I figured I would call him in the morning about this & bring the car back at a more convienient time to have them clean it up. On the way home, all of a sudden the radio came on blarring loud and it hadn't been on when we left the shop.

When I got home I started looking at my car and saw that the dashboard was completely off balance. There is a gap that starts in the middle of the dash & widens all the way to the other end." Unbelievable" I said to Jim," look at this!"

I called Jeff that evening and he told me to bring my carback in the morning, which I did. And when I got there, Jeff was off that day but he had told Phillip to " take care of the issues with the Cadi"...

Phillip said he'd get it all done for me. Later that day he called me & told me it was ready for pickup, but I had plans that evevning and said I'd be there in teh morning.

I went to pick it up & all that had been done was they vacuumed the floor mats and wiped up the greaseon the seats. I knew at that point I was NOT going to leave my car with them again for any other repairs or corrections!

It was obvious they were incapable of doing the job that they took on.

I filed a compliant with the BBB and after they received the complaint ,Jeff Mankee the manage called and spoke to my fiance about bringing the car back in and he would be sure to get it fixed correctly.

Jim(my fiance) told him I wasn't interested in giving them a third chance and He asked JIm to try & get me to change my mind.

I called Jeff the next day ,which was on July 1 and was adamant when I told him I DID NOT feel that I could trust to take my car to them again & that I would NOT be taking it back to him.

Jeff Mankee's response to the BBB was a lie. He stated he was waiting for me to make up my mind about giving them another chance to make it right.

I have since, taken my car to a Cadillac dealer on a recall issue & they have pointed out and informed me that the work done by Brakes Plus is irrepairable because they actually GLUED the dash up because they had broken all the clips off it!

They have emailed me this information so I have that to submit as evidence of their incompetance. I also have pictures of the damged & gapped dash and pictures of the filthy mess they left on my mats.

I have requested a full refund of $1829.99 which Brakes Plus has stated is not justified, but now I am seeking an attorney to file a case against them. They have ruined my Cadillac and I am pretty sure by now that they don't treat customers right because they cheat people & are NOT professional
