I was a victim of Bishop Marvin S. Powell, Jr. also. He added me as a facebook friend in January 2013 and began inboxing me in June of the same year. He began immediately in June inboxing me and telling me how beautiful I was and that he loved the God in me. He told me he was single and looking for a wife. I told him I was not looking and not interested in pursuing a relationship since my fiancee had just passed away in 2010. Over a period of time, Mr. Powell continued to pursue me with a passion and with great intensity and insisted on meeting me and invited me to speak at his church for a pre Christmas fellowship dinner in December. We exchanged telelphone numbers and Mr. Powell would call at various times and continued to proclaim his love for me insisting that I was the one for him and the one he'd been looking for all of his life.

"Bishop" Powell would sometimes inbox or call and tell me that he had a death in his family and needed money to fly to his home town of Connecticut or that the lights in the church were going to be disconnected, or someone had broken into his church and stolen his keyboard, his kids needed something, etc. I didn't know of course at the time that his church was located in the basement of his home supposedly. Being a caring woman, I sent him a total of $275.00 in increments of $100.00 twice and $75.00 because I wanted to help out. He also needed a computer because his was broken and he needed one to post on facebook.

I finally agreed to meet him and traveled to Georgia in December of 2013 with the intention of speaking at his church and giving him a new computer. Upon my arrival, he immediately took me to his best friends home (a female) and the three of us went to breakfast. He had told me prior to my arrival that everything was paid for on his end. After breakfast they took me to a motel and he told me I could go in and pay. I wasn't prepared to pay for anything because of what he had previously told me but I knew I had to have some place to stay so I charged everything on my credit cards. He and his friend left and later came to pick me up for dinner that evening. After dinner when they took me back to my room I knew within my heart that he and his friend were more than "just friends" and I had a gut feeling that Mr. Powell was taking me for a ride in more than one way. I confronted Mr. Powell and told him that I knew he and his friend were a couple. He of course stated that he didn't know what I was talking about and left abruptly. I stayed in Georgia for 3 1/2 days to make sure of my assumptions.

The next morning Mr. Powell picked me up at the motel and took me to his church. We drove to his home and he proceeded to lead me to a door located in the basement of his home. I saw a room lightly decorated as a church with a pulpit, and approximately 10 to 20 chairs. Located behind this room was what he called his recording studio with a keyboard, mixing board, and huge screens. After viewing the 2 rooms we left immediately and he took me back over to his friends house. He left me at his friends home saying he had choir rehearsal and would be back later. He never returned and his friend took me to the motel.

The next day I didn't hear from Mr. Powell at all and since I'd never been in Georgia before I contacted his female friend and asked if she would pick me up because I was starving. She picked me up and took me to her home and spoke with Mr. Powell by telephone and he stated he would be picking us up for the fellowship dinner for which I had been invited to speak. Of course, I never heard from Bishop Powell or spoke to him again and was abandoned in Georgia by him until I left. He immediately blocked me from his facebook page and that was the last that I ever heard from him or saw him.

I was SCAMMED by Marvin S. Powell, Jr. too!

I received his short story that he calls a book from him via email (later he disclosed to me he lied in parts of it to make it more interesting to "his audience"). He told me he would love to "deliver" a few music cds to me in person over lunch, but that never happened because "something came up", so instead he sent me to purchase the downloadable music online. (I said, purchase, but remember he "supposedly" was gifting to me physical copies I could hold"). Still, I gave him the benefit of the doubt being a "bishop", another joke on me I find out much later.

He tried to convince me I was his "destiny". He asked to borrow money from me on three different occasions, which came close to $1000 total. He Promised to re-pay the money to me in a certain time frame knowing I did not have the money to really loan him, but because I cared about his circumstances (the situation and circumstance I found out later he deceived me into believing), I loaned him the money anyway, trusting he was a REAL MAN and his word meant something.

He IS NOT a MAN, he is a COWARD. His word is not as good as the toilet paper I use. I flush the [BETTER than he is] toilet paper down the toilet into the sewage where it belongs. SO, does my analogy explain to everyone what is too good for this deceitful con!

I found out later the reason he asked for one of my paintings, [I asked for it back and he refused being the immature idiotic boy he is], was so that he could REMOVE MY NAME and take CREDIT for MY TALENT by SIGNING his name to MY WORK! He told the woman before gifting the painting and engagement ring to her that she was "his inspiration" for the painting (yes the one he had no hand in painting, the same one I painted a year or more before ever having the bad luck of emailing him for that short story he calls a book and much of it made up lies)!

He is using everyone he comes in contact with, his kids, your kids, his family, your family, and your friends......... for the sole purpose of cheating them in horrible ways using lies and God to do these horrendous deeds! He does not care about kids or the elderly, he doesn't care about who he hurts or how much he hurts them, he has no integrity, morals, ethics, or heart, and he certainly is not a man of God people, seriously. The Good Lord does not sleep though and we all reap what we sow.

FRAUDSTER Marvin S. Powell Jr. and FRAUD ministry

This person is conning women left and right using social media sites to do so. BEWARE of this wolf in sheep's clothing. He will become engaged, meet your family, introduce you to his children, ALL organized criminal behavior to get as much as he can out of whomever he can. The amateur book has many false stories and the music have no covers because you can only purchase them online. The cover(s), new releases, and suits he advertises are all bogus, fake, fraudulent advertisements; there are no physical music disks or book to purchase from him. He will not mail you or send you a music disk, he will tell you to go to cdbaby.com and purchase it online.

Powell House International does not, nor does Marvin S. Powell, Jr. have business license(s) to run a business online or from his residence, which is the address used for the fake ministry and business(es), etc. His "recording studio", "man cave", and "church" are all photo-shopped to make you believe he is legitimate and has "nice" things, he is broke and has nothing so he makes his living scamming women, mainly christian women. BEWARE - of loaning him money or sowing seed to a bogus ministry. Many testimonials by victims exposing him for what and who he truly is; google him for yourselves.

Fake Bishop Scammer

Every word of this is completely true. Hundreds and maybe thousands of women have been scammed, lied to and catfished by this fake Bishop. He has stolen so much money from women, been engaged to multiple women at the same time and is married, living with his wife and kids.

Scam and Con Artist Bishop Marvin S. Powell Jr.

He scammed me too. Told me I was his Destiny, exactly what he was searching for (wish I had known he meant he was searching for another gullible, helpful, trusting type). He always needed to borrow money for something to do with church. He eventually scammed me out of close to a thousand dollars, which he was able to do by asking for several small "loans" at different times for different reasons. Before I knew it the total was far more than I would ever loan anyone because I could not afford to do so IF he had not promised to repay me by a certain date. Although he promised to repay what he borrowed from me, as soon as I confronted him about his dealings with other women behind my back and his odd behavior for a "man of the cloth"; he refused to pay me back and because it was promised that he would repay me at a certain time I was lacking in bill money. I told him I was short on my rent and could be evicted if I didn't come up with the money I loaned him. The short version of his response was that I brought it upon myself for attacking his "character". I found out almost immediately after blocking him from social media that he is still married, he becomes engaged to several women at a time even though he is still married, he doesn't have a legal license to be in business or facilitate over a church from his home or anywhere else in the state of Georgia, he may not even be a real pastor or bishop, and he has conned so many women out of money, gifts, sex, and trips it is disgusting to say I once was "taken in" by his lies. He is into all types of questionable activities! wow, Thank God I was spared from more harm at his hands. He needs to be locked up for his wicked and illegal deeds.
