There are several problems with this company. First CEO likes to cut corners and use pharmacy technicians as pharmacy managers, rather than using a pharmacist. They hire pharmacy technicians that are not certified to run the business just because they are from an indian descent to get greencards (like the CEO).Pharmacy technicians are hired without going to tech school and are not registed or licensed in the begninning and are allowed to work with drugs before they get an official board of pharmacy license. The techs are expected to be marketers and delivery drivers without compensation or training. They expect the techncian to delivery drugs for free without liability or car insurance. Pharmacists is not properly trained at their job. they offer competative pay but your contract means nothing, they can change their mind anytime and they do. If you are full time you will not get full time hours. Corporate is a mess, the staff is underqualified (cheap labor). No one communicates with each other and they could fire you on the spot if they like someone else, even when you meet all of their sales goals. Lets not even talk about how qualifiedd the pharmacists are at compounding and the problems that they are going to get the company into. They don't train anyone to work their job, pharmacists, technicians, drivers, marketers are all hired without proper training and are given roles beyond their contract.Marketers do not last in the company because everyone in corporate office thinks they are the boss and makes their own decision without informing the next person.Drivers are not covered by insurance and are expected to use their own cars when delivering, which is illegal. Patient information is not secure in their system and can be floated around to their "call center". Corporate office is a mess on its own. Everyone thinks they are the boss there. The owners Alpesh Patel and Manish Patel doesn't know how to run a business. He micromanages everyone in the company from the store down to the driver. His district manager is just a pharmacy technician and yet Alpesh never lets him to his role properly. He is probably running this business shortly just to sell it to Walgreens or CVS to make millions.

I was hired as full time pharmacist on May 30, 2016 with full benefits. By mid November my pharmacist partner and myself were both reduced to part time (from 40 to 26 hours a week) due to decreased sales. I was promised at that time by Alpesh Patel that if I stayed at part time I could keep my full time health care benefits. I passed up a full time position with Wal-Mart at that time with full benefits because of closed on Sundays and evenings. My wife had recently been diagnosed with uterine cancer and I thought as long as I could keep my medical coverage the extra time off may be needed so I stayed with Benzer. The first of May, 2017 when my wife went to Kroger pharmacy to get her prescription filled we discovered that without notice Benzer had discontinued my health benefits. Not only that but Diana Calle from the HR dept at corporate told me on more than one occasion I did not qualify for Cobra continued health insurance due to the fact I lost my benefits during a new enrollment period. After a couple of weeks of me requesting further consideration for this I finally had to call the Dept of Labor and ask them about this. They requested the person's name and position they needed to talk to. I gave them Diana Calle's name and she was head of Human Resources.

After this I never received any notification from dept. of Labor or from Human Resources about my Cobra insurance but in about a week's time the Cobra packet arrived in my mailbox. This company is ridiculous in the things they try to pull against their employees. Some time during the next summer 2017 a young man from around Bristol, Virginia came into the Benzer Pharmacy in Moneta, Virginia and introduced himself as the new full time pharmacist. No one at store level (at least that is what I was told by the pharmacy manager, Nidhi Prajapati) was aware of any part of this. I told him he should speak to the pharmacy manager, Nidhi, and he did. After he left she said she was not aware of this corporate decision to terminate my and my partner's employment and would contact corporate. It took her about 3 weeks to confirm to us that indeed we would keep our jobs and the young man was not hired after all. I'm sure that came as a surprise and disappointment to him as he had already turned in his notice.

After this time Benzer pharmacy maintained an advertisement on several recruiting websites for a pharmacist position at Benzer pharmacy in Moneta, Virginia. The first part of this year my partner went out for hip surgery. He was out about 12 weeks. During the same time the pharmacy manager, Nidhi Prajapati, decided to go to India to visit family for about 10 weeks. The week before she was to leave one of my 3 remaining full time employees quit. It really left the pharmacy short staffed by 3 and as the staff pharmacist I was responsible in the eyes of the employees of making decisions. During those 10 weeks Benzer hired 2 different pharmacists to work my partner's hours (even though I had said I would work the extra) and neither one worked out even though each told me they were promised a full time permanent position. The employees had so many questions and decisions had to be made during the absence of the manager and the pharmacist in charge.

There were many distractions and requests from corporate during this time as the whole company was converting to a new pharmacy software program. Now after all this responsibility and distraction my pharmacist in charge had a slow recovery and when he came in to check on things a couple of days before his schedule was to begin he was told he was not scheduled that day and in fact was not on the schedule. He had been notified of nothing concerning his return to work. At this point he assumed he was terminated and came into the pharmacy, picked up his pharmacist license and the store pharmacy license with his name on it and left. He even mailed the pharmacy PIC permit into the Virginia Board of Pharmacy. I had been told nothing about this situation either and all the regular employees and customers are asking me where my partner is and I have no idea. Two weeks later it is determined it is ok for him to return to work and he does. After handling all of these situations on the third of July I receive an email saying my services were no longer required at Benzer Pharmacy. The official reason on this notice was "poor work performance and prescription errors that occured during my shift".

The amazing thing about this is that Benzer has a policy and procedure manual that states "documenting and preserving prescription error reports is solely for education and work improvement and NOT for punitive reasons so as to promote recording". So I think it is strange for the termination reason given. This is also puzzling as I can not recollect that many 'prescription errors" as defined in the manual and in over a 2 year period I know I did not sign more than 2 actual prescription errors. Now the company is trying to deny me unemployment compensation, which I had to apply for because at 62 it is hard to find employment and may have had an influence in Benzer's decision to terminate me, due to reason of termination due to MISCONDUCT. Wow, really, I can guarantee you I was never written up or even spoken to for this reason so is totally confounding to me. As reported by others on this site it is my estimation that if you are employeed at the corporate office or if you are of the same culture as the executives then you are treated professionally. If you are in a store and you are not of similar background then you will not be treated professionally or even civilly.

I had the pleasure of working for benzer pharmacy. Which the owners manish patel and alpesh patel are the owners. First before we begin lets take a look at the many negative reviews they have received. Also, you will noticed all the postive reviews are from indians, or family members.

Benzer pharmacy complaints

Benzer pharmacy reviews

Negative reviews about benzer pharmacy, benzer franchise, benzer petmeds, benzer specialty, gayroots nutrition

Gayroots nutrition reviews on yelp

Benzer pharmacy employee reviews glassdoor

Working at benzer pharmacy indeed reviews

Benzer pharmacy reviews on kununu

Ceo manish patel from benzer pharmacy was arrested in 2008 for pushing controlled medications.

Manish patel wins ceo of the year from drug chain store news. Shows that drug chain store news will give anyone who pays that award. They are crooks just like benzer pharmacy for misleading the public.

2 of benzer pharmacies have settled with the federal goverment for $750k for putting in claims for scripts that were never filled.

Most of the employees at corporate have work visas or student visas from india. They work longer for less and if they complain then they will be fired and work visas would no longer be sponsored. It is the greatest form of fear that they strike with their staff. You would think they were human trafficing.

Checks bounce, they dont pay their bills, they cant tell you the truth, they make empty promises. They are not only the worse pharmacy to use, but they treat the people running it like crap.

Their office always smells like b.O. And wet poop.

Benzer Pharmacy is the worse place to work for. You are hired at full time, but they never give you full time hours so you make a lot less. They have us waste our own gas and put wear and tear on our cars without compensation. Good luck getting corporate to return calls or pay you on time. They were fined by the Federal government for Medicare and Medicare fraud. Google Benzer Pharmacy false claims. Google Benzer reviews. Do your homework before you do business with this company.

I worked for Benzer Pharmacy as a tech for over 3 years. Before they were called Benzer Pharmacy their name was Rx Care Pharmacy. Allegedly they were called Rx Care Pharmacy before they filed for BK. When Rx Care Pharmacy became Benzer Pharmacy they had the same problems with paying their employees. One month you were on direct deposit and the next month you would be on a paper check. Check depoist used to bounce and they would blame this on accounting. Alpesh Patel and the other owner would pay doctors to write scripts for them. All their positive reviews on Facebook are from employees, not actuall customers. If you search for Benzer Pharmacy Complaints you will find all the true complaints that they try to hide.

Benzer Pharmacy is the AIDs of the industry and put profit before public. I'm sure if you are reading this they probably changed their name a few more times. This is my first negative review about any company. But I have to warn people who want to work at Benzer. Employees dont usually last more than 2-3 months before they quit and I was always having to pick up their mess after they left. I stayed as long as I did for empty promises of being a store manager for a location that never opened up. They put fake post out everyday saying all the big things they are doing, but none of them ever come to light. If you get asked to be an unpaid intern, dont do it unless you want to work for free with promises of a job that you will never get or half of what they promise you. Please stay away, unless you like low pay, no morals, and getting bounced checks.

Extremely Dishonest

(5908 Breckinridge Pkwy Tampa FL)

I received the 1st dose of a new medication on 9/23/2019. The 2nd monthly dose should have arrived 30 days later. It didn’t. I wasn’t contacted by Benzer about any delay. On 11/1, BEFORE any product was shipped, they charged my insurance for the expected shipment. It was, I later found out, set to be shipped November 4. However, they were out of stock that day, & nothing went out. NOBODY AT BENZER CALLED ME TO TELL ME WHAT WAS GOING ON. Yesterday, 11/11, I called the location myself. Only then did I find out about the “delay.” I was told that not only did they still not have it, they couldn’t tell me when they MIGHT get it. 2 representatives, yesterday & today, specifically told me they were waiting on the manufacturer to send a shipment, & strongly implied that no pharmacies were getting it. This was a lie. In fact, they actively said they could not call the manufacturer for more information, & that it would come in when it came in. I know they were lying because I just got off the phone with the product hotline of the manufacturer. There isn’t & hasn’t been an interruption in the supply. It’s Benzer’s own distributor that’s at fault. Now, in addition to the incompetence, the lies, & the abject indifference, there’s a matter of insurance fraud, because Benzer charged my insurance for a product that was never shipped, & they knew it. It was the manufacturer hotline that discovered that & informed me. I’ll be referring that aspect to the State Attorney’s Office tomorrow, as well as reporting it to my insurance carrier. The hotline representative was extremely helpful, contacted a pharmacy that I frequently use & like, & arranged to have all the information & authorization transferred to them. As a result, I am to have it in 24 hours. Benzer had better NOT impede this process. Benzer could have prevented this from ever happening. They simply chose not to, & pocketed the money from my insurance carrier to boot. I would strongly recommend that nobody should trust them, ever.
