I went to James Hancock for a divorce. I paid him a 1500.00 retainer. My divorce was simple, no kids, no property,no other money between myself and my husband involved. The last thing he said was I would only need to pay 3 or 4 hundred dollars more to file the papers with the court. I waited to hear from him. I didn't hear anything until I spoke to my father who said that he had paid the final bill, so I emailed Me. Hanvik and asked if the divorce was done. He said no, that my father had not paid and that he paid for some other work for my father. Mr. Hancock then told me that I would have to pay him another 1500.00 to finish my divorce. I have not been able to get divorced because I can't afford it. It has been 6 yrs. since this happened. I even sent him another client who was only charged 1500.00 and she had a child involved. D.
