System Mechanic offered me a 60% discount on their new supremium service, Phoenix. When I clicked to accept the offer, it said the offer was no longer availbale and I had to be 79.95. Note that System Mechanic is only $29. I told them I did not want Phoenex, but they billed Paypal a an aotorenewal. I appealed on their wite ad was denied, so I appealed to Paypal. Paypal asked for some evidence that I had appealed, but since it was done on the Avangate site, I had no record. I appealed back to Avangate, and iola software (maker of system mechanic), but was denied again.

The crux is that Avangate proecessed an unauthorized autonewal (I haned supbscibed in the first place) through Paypal as an autorewal and I can't get the money back.

I do not want Avangate's services. They started harrassing me with phone calls on April 28th. 2018 and I repeatedly requested that I was NOT interested in anything they had to offer because thier service was a ripoff. Today May 1st. 2018 Avangate started calling me at 3:30 p.m. and continued to call robo style 25 times within 1 hour and 45 minutes. I told them that I was on the do not call list but they continued and became relentless, rude and overbearing. I'm sick of these pukes. Who do I contact to file a lawsuit.

This company is a ripoff.

I ordered bitdefender and instead of getting a download link, they called me on my phone and tried to upsell me $300 service to "clean" my computer. I declined and after a go-round with PayPal, got the charge reversed but then months later, they have tried to charge me $89.99 for an annual renewal for their service.

At first, PayPal was not going to reverse the transaction, until I called them.

I did not authorize this annual renewal and this company is a fraud. Their officers should be in jail.

Why do some businesses think a business license is a license to steal?

This was a scam from the word go, they offer software, and supposidly assistance in installing and solviny conpatibally, and connectively issues. What they supplied access to their software and said install it. When I could not get their software to fix my issues and could not connect to my printer. It was "supply us with all sorts of information which if I knew how to get the requested information, I would not need them or their software. I pity the poor souls who come in contact with them.

I was scammed by AVANGATE and my ultimate goal is to see these low-lifes prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

They only 'got' me for $229. (their "senior" price for their bogus internet security.) But when they tried to scam me for $2,600. for 'NETWORK" security because a"hacker" had infiltrated my computer, I pulled the plug and wouldn't buy into what they were selling. The result was this "James Carter" spewing a string of vile and heinous words at me, the likes of which I had never in my life been a recipient.

It started with my phone call to Avangate to check on two emails I received from System Mechanic saying that my account had been activated for another year. Since I didn't give permission to System Mechanic or IOLO to do anything with an account I was unaware I even had, I became concerned and called Avangate to see if they could help me. He said he needed to "see" the email and couldn't help me until I would allow him access into my computer. I gave him that permission and I asked if Avangate had anything to do with System Mechanic or IOLO and he flat out said, "NO" which I now believe to be false.

He told me to "pay no attention to those emails," he was taking care of them and then proceeded to show me how many warnings were on my computer with regard to "hackers" obtaining my private information. Obviously, I was frightened by that believing I had purchased Avangate security, how could this have happened? He told me that the hackers were into my computer "network" and that to get them out of there I had to buy a NETWORK security package. He proceeded to say I could purchase this package from Amazon and brought Amazon up on the screen to show me the cost would be $3,600. OR I could purchase this same package through Avangate and get their 'senior' rate of $2,600. I told him that was out of the question and he said that if I didn't buy it, as soon as he got out of my computer the hackers, who "are smarter than him or me or anybody" would be back into my computer and they had access to my social security number and bank accounts, etc. I said I would have to take my chances with that and he became irate. That's when he started calling me names and saying, as I said before, these awful, vile words to me. I was such a "stupid bi**h he wanted to rub his d**k in my stupid face"!!!! He hung up on me and called back a few minutes later all calm and again tried to talk me into buying that network security package, and I still refused and he hung up on me again, but he would not release the control of my computer back to me. Instead he some how had all these flashing red and green lights appearing on the screen with numbers and letters flashing. It was very frightening. Then he called me back and I told him to 'GET OUT OF MY COMPUTER, NOW!!!" He kept insisting that it was the hackers doing that, and even as we were speaking they were getting into my bank accounts. I told him that HE was the hacker and to release my computer back to me. He called me more names and told me to never call Avangate again!! He remained in my computer for about another 10 minutes or so, then finally returned control back to me. I AM LIVID with this jerk and I want to see this bogus company prosecuted. I don't know if calling the FBI would help or not. I have not been able to get in contact with a Sheriff in my town regarding this.

In the past 3 yrs this company assisted me with problems and their charge was minimal. Last night changed that. I got a worm from Facebook and when this company went in remote to fix it, they locked me out and want $500 before they open it. The creeps preceded to delete things off of my computer. The punk laughed and used foul language. Fortunately I back up my Mac every 2 days on an external drive. I shut down my computer and now my computer is with a reputable good friend who works with a Geek Squad. He told me this kind of problem is the most common, and he can fix it. I never gave the crooks any personal or financial information. But to be safe I went to my banks and changed my passwords and I cancelled my credit cards. No charges were made against my banks or credit cards, but changing passwords and cards makes me feel more secure. These punks are crooks. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. If you get a pop up chat or request from Tech Live Support hang up or delete their pop up. They'll keep on hounding you, but will eventually quit to find another sucker.

I dont know whats really going on with this company I ordered internet security from this company in 1-2016. Starting in August I was getting calls from agents telling me to let me open a two way communication. Then open my bank account and they will refund my money ($249) I made mistakes I think by trusting this company. They have software on my computer allowing them access to my computer. I should have known better. I work for a non profit. Fortunately no way to get the foundations money. But if there is a virus on my computer I am screwed.

Just a heads up dont just let anyone into your computer. I thought they were a Microsoft company which I highly doubt now. My bank said if it were Micro Soft this would not be happening. Just be aware I hope this will save someone all the time and money I wasted on this service. Now lets pray to the computer gods I have let it go to far already.

On the 1st of feb i ordered a program online from tweakbit that was supposed to clean up my computer

what i got was a program that went through my computer (remotely) and showed me everything that needed to be cleaned up

i was then transferred to a "senior" technician, who tried to sell me the actual product to clean my computer for $245

within an hour i had bought and canceled the order, my money was refunded a few days later

on the 5th of feb, a charge of 29.95 was made by avangate to my bank

i called and told them i didn't buy anything and wanted a refund, i was told i would get a refund

i never got refunded, the date of the refund is the 5th, but this is the date the money was charged to my account

since then all my calls have told me the same thing, that i have been sent a refund

i was emailed a statement to show that the refund had in fact been sent to my bank

what i got was an invoice for 29.95, the word refund doesn't appear anywhere on the page

i called again to say the statement doesn't say it's a refund, i was told because the 29.95 has a minus in front of that this shows it's a refund.

a invoice is a receipt for a purchase... it is not a refund

waiting a few more days to see if it was refunded i called again and was told to contact my bank, that the money may be on hold

this is ridiculous, it has nothing to do with my bank and i said so

i was told the refund was sent and they could send me an email as proof

i told them that i had the email already, and that the money was not in my account

i was told that according to them a refund was sent and i should contact my bank, that sometimes the bank puts the money on hold

i said, my bank would never refuse money sent to them, and that it wasn't in my account

i was told the refund had been sent and that i should contact the bank

i said, but the money's not in my acount, what if contacting the bank doesn't work? i was told i wouldn't have to call them back and that the refund had been sent by them and to contact my bank

i canceled my card when the bogus charge came up over a week ago, and have now filed a claim

i think tweakbit is also a questionable company, and avangate certainly is

i like how avangate responds to compliants by not addressing the complaint, just telling you to contact them, or saying goobly-g**k that makes no sense what so ever, they just shuffle you back through the process again, the loop approach

this, also, a sign poor business relations, or worse taking people's money cause they can

there are just too many complaints, all the stories have a similar ring to them

the more we report them, the sooner they will be caught for fraudulant business practices

my heart goes out to those who have lost large amounts of money

I received my transaction summary from my credit card company with numerous charges from AVONGATE BV AV. Not having any idea what this company was I looked it up and found Bitdefender which I have heard of before. I have never paid or ordered any services from them and do not know why I am making monthly payments without my permission.

I purchased this software for $19.95 with a 30 day money back refund guarantee. I made the purchase thru

Paypal, to be on the safe side. I received a license key, installed the software, initiated the scan, which was

part of the procedure. the program stated that my PC had over 360 errors, in different categories, which I

initated the repair program to fix. this program did ABSOLUTELY nothing, in fact what it did do, is embed itself

into several of my files, with trojans and worms. It wreaked havoc on my PC. It made things 100 times worse,

then what was needed for repair. I contacted support, to get a phone number, for a refund. Support does not

issue refunds, had to get a phone # to call for a refund. Told it would be 15 days, before refund would be issued,

talked to supervisor, said refund would be issued in 2 days, 8 days later called, to get refund, rep said I did not

respond to email inquiry about why I wanted a refund, so refund was not issued, requested refund again, I was told

a refund would be issued in 48 hrs., got an email message refund would be issued in 14 days. Filed a dispute with

Paypal, REFUND WILL BE ISSUED, by PAYPAL. This delaying refunds for long periods of time, is called KITING,

which banks are familiar with. This activity is being conducted on the INTERNET, and this company is making EVERY

EFFORT in delaying refund in a timely matter. NOT TO MENTION, the PRODUCT is ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS, and

DOES NOT DO WHAT THEY CLAIM IT DOES. In fact it cause MORE PROBLEMS, than one can IMAGINE.

I purchased an email harvester from Avangate and their reseller, AtomPark.

They never told me that it only worked on a Windows computer.

So i had to buy a cheap windows computer so i could try to use it.

But they blocked the access to my account because i opened a dispute on Paypal to try to get my money back since I didn't want to have to buy a Windows device to use it.

But they ended up getting all the money anyway from Paypal, and Paypal closed the case in September 2015.

So i wrote Avangate and Atompark back.

"Please remove the blocked access. The case with Paypal was closed in Sept, 2015."

But they will not give me access to it. No matter what.

Each time, no matter what, they won't remove the block to let me access what i paid for.

Even after Paypal wrote them messages explaining that the issue was closed, Avangate & Atompark got the money, they still will not let me access the software.

I warned them numerous times, let me get into what I paid for or I will file a rip off report.

They still refused.

Avangate says "we only sell the software, we don't deal with technical issues. So contact Atompark directly."

So I go to Atompark, they say "we will remove the block if Avangate tells us to."

So I go back to Avangate and say "tell Atompark to remove the block."

Avangate says "we don't handle things like that, please contact AtomPark."

Back to Atompark............Over and over. Same response.

Been going on since September 2015.

So enough is enough.

I warn any consumer out there.

DO NOT EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM AVANGATE OR ATOMPARK SOFTWARE.

They are a scam.

They have phone numbers that only go to voicemail with a message that always plays, or even sometimes says the mailbox is too full.

They will scam you out of your money and never let you access the account.

DO NOT BUY FROM AVANGATE OR ATOMPARK.

I had been using a free program by 10Bit called Advanced Care. It worked well so I thought I would activate it. This was a HUGE mistake! Apparently they are part of a racket in California, and world wide that runs this scam. They are a bunch of hackers, really.

The software told, after paying, that I have to call in and "activate" my software. I thought that it was strange but the young man assured he would help me. He waited and waited...and I did not know what he was up to. He claimed I had an issue on my PC and he would have to log onto my computer and he was SLICK. I thought surely 1Obit was not going to expose me to a scam but I WAS WRONG. This guy started up like 'You have a fabulous computer, one of the best in the world but if I do not help you...you will have complete sytem failure! I WAS FURIOUS, at this point. I recognized what this lowlife was doing and told him to leave my computer IMMEDIATELY.

This morning I received several emails from 1Obit and Avangate THANKING ME for my ORDER!!! OH CRAP....

I DID NOT ORDER! I do not like these people and I certainly do not want any of their GARBAGE! I called and I got the

same garbage they tried before!!!

I hung up and called another number and the guy "did not understand" so I told him that I want to speak to an ENGLISH speaking person and I do not think that exists...

After about 10 minutes of putting me on hold and appologizing, I get a "supervisor" that would not be suited for anything.

He tells me I cannot get a refund of the money until I tell him the name of the software I ORDERED....I DID NOT ORDER!!!

I gave this moron my order number but NO...he cannot refund the money that they ROBBED me of until I told him what I

ordered. This is one of the biggest sham jobs I have seen in awhile! They are very well insulated from reprecussions because all you can talk to are scammers and hackers.
