ALERT ALERT ALERT!!!! TRUCKER PSA! American Truck Group/ National Truck Funding ( Gulfport, MS) are crooks. They are scammers and kept my money. I'm a first time buyer. Their process was $495 application/investor fee, around $3k-$5k down, then the trucks take God knows how long to get road ready. I sat for days waiting. Finally test drove the one I was waiting for and it seemed fine. I filled up the tank because I was under the impression the truck was fine. Overnight I noticed a deadly amount of Deisel exhaust flowing into the sleeper. Next morning I reported it to them among other issues. Weeks go buy and I finally ask for my money back. So far nothing. It's been 2 months from the start of this messes. They said they will refund me but not the fuel. They want to keep the fuel. They said they will not give me the money for the the full tank I put in. I'm telling every magazine, and online avenue I can to let all truckers know to leave them alone. They will literally stiff you out of thousands of dollars if they feel like it. They will probably end up on the news because they might cross the right person and you see how people act when they get crossed over their hard earned money. They have no respect or moral compass and they see nothing wrong with keeping the money I spent filling up the tank. I hope I get my refund and the fuel money back but nothing yet. Let the go out of business they are going to scheme you out of your money if you try to walk away.

So if like me you there yard with a bad engine or the engine light comes on do not I repeat do except them to fix that problem although they told me that they would and told the dealer to fix the problem and when the the truck was ready Ralph the manager of NTF who is in charge of breakdown told me to pay myself or that I would have to find my way home because he is taking the truck back if I don't pay for the repairs so I paid the repairs and I am going to have to pay my rental fee this week or they will take the truck so right now I am out 10000 dollars an the truck only gets 4.4 miles to the gallon and I must pay 775.00 a week to a bunch of crooks I wish someone would have given me this information but now I understand that they have a class action suit against them stay away

American truck group is in a class action suit and I have a attorney on retainer for them not giving me a truck that I have spent 7000 dollars to rent that is road ready the truck needed engine repairs and I brought the truck back after driving 30 miles to get my trailer because the engine light came on so they erased the codes and told me it is fixed and when the engine light came back on the whole cluster lit up and alarms began to go off when I got it to a shop they gave the mechanic the ok to do the work and that they would pay and they have a 50/50 plan which is they pay half this also is a lie so the next day when I go to pick up the truck the mechanic said he has not been able to reach them and American truck group told me I have to pay or the will take the truck and I didn't have the money to pay and they knew I didn't have the money so my company paid that I am lease on to bottom line is they have a working truck now and it is worth more to them than me putting miles on it that is there business don't be fooled they are blood suckers

I am a disabled military veteran left stranded (STRANDED 3hrs away from home!) in walcott, ia by American Truck Group, because I fell behind on my $849 a week payment after I told them I will return the Truck and was on my way to do so. I had volunteered to bring it back to them, they hung up in my face and sent someone IMMEDIATELY out to apprehend the truck without my knowledge and they took all of my belongings, including my phone along with it! Had to pay to get my personal belonging back. To fight and become disabled protecting the freedom of a American business with the name American in it, protecting their freedom to do business in such a manner.

Thank the Lord I got most of my money back. I feel as though I should have been reimbursed the $500 initial fee plus airfare $461 and I'll tell you why. A couple of reasons; I was never told that your truck payment under the "No Credit Check Program" would not go toward paying truck off. American Truck Showroom (ATS) considers your payment a rental fee. No.2) I had made the down payment plus closing cost and ATS decided to sale the truck I made a down payment, hours before my flight time to go to Mississippi. Have you ever heard of "Bait & Switch" well that's what ATS did next, only the trucks they put before me did not have all the bells and whistles that the initial one had. Nolan the general manager will not call you back, will not answer emails, and will not do what he said he will do. Very arrogant, short in talking to you, so get ready for it. Oh yah interest rate is going to be around 40%

I found a truck online in Phoenix,Az took a plane to purchase it. Test drive showed problems with both engine lights on.Took the whole next day to repair and engine lights came back on less than 10 miles of leaving. Truck only gave 5mpg bobtailIng unheard of and major coolant leak using 2 to 3 gallons daily I paid for. I ended in Gulfport and they try to repair truck taking parts from old trucks and out them on yours. They don'the want you to see this cause you aren'the allowed outside but I watched anyway .Took them 4 days and truck returned still with engine lights on no power and fuel mileage still at 4.4 to the gallon. I'm in another truck with them and disavow all over again with this truck engine problems and I have to pay and haven'the got a full week of work from this truck. Over $15000 in dept thanks to this company. Remember you are under contract and you pay for everything sucker. No integrity with this company they make it known that no lawyer or law firm can stop them from victimizing hardworking people. If any lawyer or firm is not afraid of American Truck Group please please help me with them. I've given my all to this company for them to do me like this and I have to beg and borrow to survive to this day. They reply no excuses why you can't pay even if you just got the truck and is brokedown in 4 days. No one can and will not stop us from conning people out of there money. It's the American way and that's why we are named American Truck Group. This country was built on lies and deceit and have no integrity smiling in your face saying that. Someone please step up and hit them in the mouth and let them see how losing everything feel.

First of all as a former employee of American Truck group I can tell you this place is a HUGE ripoff. I was a rental salesman for one year and was astonished at the tactics and lies used to ripoff good people of there hard earned money. They will get you in with false promises of great warranties affordable payments. (which they will always lie about) I was guilty of it myself because I used the same tactics to rip off these customers. Unfortunately I had to work and support my family and I did what the company asked of me. Not anymore. I moved to cash and finance and learned a whole new side of this company including warranty. They advertised a 50/50 warranty and that was absolutely not the case and I have proof. First they add 65% to the bill and then deduct 50% ftom that so the customer ends up paying 115% instrad of 50% I know this because i was in charge of making this happen. I worked directly with that office and it is common knowledge within company that this is happening. I have names circumstances and times when these immoral incidents took place over and over again. I am no longer with this company and I think its time to speak out. They can no longer be allowed to get rich off of other peoples misfortune. Enough is enough. If anyone is reading this and is a former employee please join me in the fight to get rid of this horrible business that has no right to do what they are doing. Lets close there doors once and for all and end this.

They will charge you $500 upfront to so call qualify you ...non refundable.

you can`t pay off the the equipment before your term in other words after you pay for the equipment 2 or 3 times the price..disgusting

By the time you get out of the term you realize you could have bought a new piece of equipment

Their deal sound good but stink .

They prey on small business or people with abd credit

Leased a truck with this company in April of 2015 and paid 6500 down and 2000 in taxes. The truck made it 20 miles down the road and was returned for a def problem. Picked up the truck a week later and drove it all the way home. When started to use the truck a couple of days later, truck would not start. Then it took several weeks for American Truck Group to approve it to go to a shop. While we were waiting for shop approval, there were two payments made of 990 dollars. Once it was in the shop, it was there for over ten weeks. They would drop ship parts so the shop had to wait weeks at a time. Finally once truck was finished I went in to pay my part of the bill. The contract stated they were to pay 50 percent of the bill and there were no payments while truck was in the shop over 15 hours. . All they were paying was 1618 out of 7995. They put a repo on the truck before I even had a chance to pay. Everytime I inquired about paying the shop said American Truck Group has asked to resend the bill. The bill was sent to American Truck Group by the shop over 15 times. I requested 5 days in a row to speak with a manager about the billing problem so I would know how much I needed to pay the shop. American Truck Group paid the full bill and repoed the truck. I had over 1500 dollars worth of tools in the back of the truck. I called and asked for my tools. The customer representative said she would have to talk to her manager and never returned my call. This truck has never hauled one load and has caused me to turn down a total of 75000 in loads down since May.

Lied to BBB told them the truck went to an unapproved shop. The shop could not do work until they approved it each time which is why it took over 10 weeks to fix. They lie, lie, and lie. When caught in their lie, they transfer you or say manager is unavailable.

This is the second complaint we have had to make with this company. To start, they "remedied" our first complaint by giving us a new piece of crap truck but said they were going to give us 4 weeks with no payments but only gave us 3 weeks. With our first payment (which was due 6/26/15 in their system- again not 4 weeks) on the new truck, we were according to them "late" because they were supposed to give us 4 weeks no payment to remedy the last crap they made us go through but only gave us 3 . After a lot of debate we were given until 6/29/15 that following Monday to make the payment(still not 4 weeks). For our second payment, they refused to give us till the next Monday to make the payment so in turn that payment was "late". They did according to the contract and charged us a late fee of around $50 which again we didn't agree with due to the response they made to the BBB but paid it anyway. In addition, they said they would fix any issues with the new truck but continues to refuse to help pay as they said they would and as they told the BBB.

The truck has a written 7 day warranty so if anything is wrong within the 7 days they should fix it with no cost to us. We told them the truck had an exhaust problem within this time frame. Toxic Exhaust fumes were blowing in the cab causing us to feel light headed and dizzy while driving. Instead of fixing the issue, they exhausted the whole 7 days having the truck in the shop, not fixing anything and having us bring it back with the same issues. So then, we found the issue ourselves and had to buy a part that cost about $500 and they only gave us half of the cost back in the form of a credit on our $718 weekly payment. Then the shop in Mesa wrote in their notes that we were trying to get free work done as if what Ralph (manager) said and wrote to the BBB and the 7 day warranty was null and void upon taking possession of the new truck.

As of 7/29/15, we have been broken down again, we called their breakdown department which was very hard to get ahold of who told us to get a 2 hour diagnostic done and call back, which cost us $90. After we had the diagnostic done, the shop told us the truck had produced 3 pages of codes and that they couldn't fix it with so many issues. The shop said we needed to take it to the manufacturer for repairs. 3 pages of codes on the diagnostic is ridiculous! We then sent breakdown the results of the diagnostics and they said since we weren't at one of their shops they couldn't tow us to one of their shops or help us with cost of the repairs. Which again as part of this "program" we are to receive 500 miles of tow and they were supposed to pay half of the repair bill which we again were refused ( like our first complaint). Knowing that we are dealing with crooks we came to terms with the fact we were going to have to pay for these repairs that will probably cost us thousands of dollars. We have been dealing with so much from this company, that we weren't surprised that they would go back on their word again and we just were going to take the loss and move on.

Today 7/31/15, a payment is due for $718. Something happened to our paperwork and we did not get paid from the company we work for and we in turn do not have the payment. Therefore, when Liz our horrible and most rude customer service rep we've ever worked with called for the payment like she does every week, we explained our situation and that we wouldn't be able to pay till next week. We thought it would be fine since in the contract it states that we are just going to be subjected to a late fee (which we would have paid). Instead, they are going against the written contract and making up rules as we go saying since it's the end of the month, there is no leeway, we can not make our payment late and they are going to call the shop and tell them not to release the truck to us until we make a payment. Nowhere in the contract does it say that there can't be any late payments at the end of the month. I couldn't believe this response from them and that they would stoop this low and make up something that is not in the contract. They continue to lie to us and the BBB and threaten our business and we are sick of it.

This company is a crooked company!!. You pay them double the amount you could pay for the truck in exchange for what the sales person told us was a "program" to help absorb some of the unexpected cost that comes with owning a truck. However, anytime you need help they NEVER help you in the way they say they will. They make up rules that aren't even in the contract. They reference the contract when its convenient for them but when we said its not in the contract that if your late on a payment you can take the truck there is supposed to be a late fee which is written in the contract, their response is "the truck is in our name so we can do what we want". So according to them they can do what ever they want even if its not written in the contract because they truck is theirs or "in their name". I guess their motto is who cares what the law says!! This is against the law!!!

We are good people trying to start a business and I don't know how these customer service reps, managers, and the owner of this company go to sleep at night from the way they treat and talk to people. We have recorded our service rep just to have proof of the way she talks to people. We are so tired of being robbed by this company and since they are not going to release the truck back to us they can pay for the repairs and give us our money back. I doubt their is an ounce of integrity left in this company. We have learned our lesson and refuse to let them rob us of our hard earned money anymore. They want drivers to take possession of their trucks "that's in their name" as Liz said, charge them double and have the driver spend thousands of dollars fixing their trucks the whole time and not help pay for anything like the contact says they would and then unlawfully take the truck back from them. Now who's trying to get free repairs??

With enough complaints they should not be able to operate anywhere anymore!! We feel that it our responsibility to let as many drivers know the facts about this company. They operate under unlawful, unethical business practices and shouldn't be allowed to make money off drivers anymore!!
