I received a call from a David Garcia from phone number 202-609-7747 which is a DC number. He stated that I had won $950,000 from the American Sweepstakes and they were about to Forfeit my winnings as I had not responded.

He read off my old address to me and w/o thinking (as I was a bit blindsided) I stated that the address he had was no longer valid. I quickly started to come back to reality and I asked him what the catch was, he stated that I had to pay 1 percent of the winnings to complete the process but that the money I was going to send would be totally refundable. By this point I decided to play along.

I advised him that "I had the $950.00; he sounded surprised and quickly notified me that he would send me the app packet... Well that's cute Mr. Garcia but 1 percent of $95,000.00 is $9,500.00! Anyhow he did advise me that I would be receiving an email with all the details.

Obviously I don't plan on receiving any legitimate info nor do I intend on sending any money but PLEASE beware as this guy did sound very convincing. My grandmother was scammed out of 30,000 by this same scam by people calling her from Jamaica (Kingston)!! It is happening and they are coming and calling from all over the world.

In October of 2011, I received a phone call from a Tony Brown advising me that I had won 3.5 million dollars. He was a very convincing man and I foolishly fell for it.

I ended up sending this man approx. 250,000. I realize this was a very foolish thing to do. I have contacted several different agencies without any results.

I have names and addresses of people involved in this scam. One of these people are in the US. I have reason to believe that Mr. Brown lives in or around Las Vegas.

I want to know if there are lawyers who will pursue this scam on a commission bases. There is much more than the money involved, even though it was our life's saving, but there was also the loss dignity and all that I went through while trying to get this money, I feel this should be taken into amount due me.

Please try to help as other people should not fall to this scam. I would appreciate anything you can do to help me retrieve my money.
