Ok. So I was looking for a checking account on the internet and I applied to this bank called "Amalgamated Bank". It had some good reviews so I went for it. Website seemed a little fishy but I went ahead and filled out the online form on their website for a checking account. Anyways, something seemed off with this so called "bank". Seemed like a sketchy kitchen table operation ran out of Nigeria or Canada. Almost immediately, they send me a notice that my account was closed and funds were frozen. I guess this is a common scam. They will accuse YOU as the fraudster and use it as a pretext to freeze your "bank" funds. Luckily, I did not send in any money.
Do NOT trust this "bank". You will most likely never see your initial deposit again. You've been warned!
