Allstar Moving Services LLC Reviews

I was moving my daughter from her apartment from Maryland to Florida. I signed a contract to mover our goods with All Star Moving Services. My salesperson Monica told me "the only way the price could change would be if additional items were added to the inventory list "(this language is also in their contract) The contract was titled "Binding Estimate". When the movers arrived they loaded the goods on their truck. When they finished the loading they returned and told me the size of the load that was based on the contract estimate of 500 cubic feet was exceeded by 100 cubic feet. They would need to collect an additional $453 before they would complete the move. I told them and showed them the Binding Contract that I had. They said it was just an estimate. I explained what a Binding Estimate is. They repeated that it is an estimate. We got the salesperson Monica on the phone and she proceeded to hum the same tune as the men who loaded my furnishings. She refused to keep the price the same and honor the Binding Contract and promptly hung up. Under duress and the pressure of having to vacate the apartment and the fact that the moving men would not unload our furnishings and return them to the apartment and they were going to take them to storage until this issue was settled I signed another Bill Of Lading at the additional charge of $453. I made claim against the mover and have contacted them repeatedly with no satisfaction. They continue to refuse to repay the over payment. Monica says she doesn't know who the owner is. She says she is the manager and will not pay me.

I relocated from Philadelphia to Miami for college. As you can imagine, money is tight. So when I received an estimate from All Star Relocation for just $825 I immediately jumped at the offer. A week after securing my deposit, movers arrive at my home in Philly to grab my things.

Day of Move

During the estimate conversation, I was very specific about what I was moving - 10 boxes (small, med, large) a 48 inch TV, Queen bed mattress, and two totes. Simple right! Well not for All Star Relocation. The price ends up being $187 more than expected, I told Jessica (sales woman) everything I was moving, but it still ends up being nearly $200 more. WTF!

As pissed as I was, by this point my things were loaded on the truck and half of the bill was in their pocket, so I went ahead and signed for the move.

10 days later the truck finally arrives to Miami, but not when it was promised and not with all of my things.

Day of Arrival

The driver calls me 30 mins before arrival and asks me if a my apartment building can accommodate a large truck. I said yes, because it was super spacious. Before the driver even arrives, he assures me that his truck won't fit and that it will be a $400 additional charge to walk my things up to my floor." Again, he said this all before he even arrived!!!

The delivery guy arrives and doesn't even attempt to get the truck into my apartment parking lot. He insists that he needs an extra $400 to move my things from street to my floor (i have an elevator btw).

As mentioned earlier, money is tight and I didn't have an EXTRA $400 to give him. So I asked for him to just leave my things on the curb and I'll find help from someone else. He said he can't. So I called the police.

That's right, I had to call the POLICE.

Two ladies officers showed up, and completely sided with me. The delivery driver was forced to give me my stuff once at the curb and a few maintenance guys from my building helped me move my belongings up to my apartment.

THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS…ALL STAR MOVERS DIDN'T EVEN MOVE MY THINGS UP TO MY NEW HOME. It was dropped at the curb.

After a traumatizing experience, I begin to unpack only to notice the tote with all of my FAMILY PHOTOS from the time I was a baby were missing. Irreplaceable stuff was now gone forever. Along with the stand for my TV, and a bunch of other really important things documents.

To top it off, the insurance I thought I had, (the insurance Jessica assured me I had) only provides 60 cents per pound per article (she forgot to mention). The insurance doesn't provide the full value per item. Not that any amount of money could replace family photos.

In other words, I will receive a $36 check for a LARGE tote full of VERY IMPORTANT BELONINGS THAT THIS COMPANY LOST.

Not to mention, my boxes were ripped open, totes were falling apart, my mirror and dishes were broken and so on and so on...

When I complained to Jessica at All Star, she could care less. There was absolutely no sympathy or apology’s from the company for how I was treated. I received nothing, just a $36 check for a traumatizing experience and missing childhood photos.
