Alliance Apartment Movers, Inc. Reviews

  • Aug 16, 2016

In July 2016, I contacted Alliance Apartment Movers to move me from Dayton, Ohio to Columbus, Ohio. I spoke with Manny. He assured me that the pricing would be at special rates due to the apartment complex I was moving to. The rate he quoted me was $89 per hour and a flat fee of around $99. He told me that the movers would be there between 8 - 10 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016. He also told me that they would have dress racks so I could hang all my clothes on them. He asked for my credit card info and told me that he would send me a confirmation via email. I never received a confirmation.

On Monday, August 1, 2016 at approximately 9:45 a.m., I contacted Manny. He told me that the truck had broken down and he was sending movers shortly. Movers arrived to my home at 1:15 pm. over three hours late. Then they asked me to give a signature so they could begin the move, which I did. I told them that the prices on the sheet were not what Manny had quoted me. It was $159 flat rate and $99 per hour. I called Manny but he didn't answer the phone. At this point I went ahead an signed the paper so they oculd begin moving.

The electric, cable, phone were being cut off at the time because Iw as supposed to already be moved by this time. The movers from Hercules LLC had contracted with Alliance. They moved everything they could. However, there were several items that couldn't fit on the truck. In addition, they had no clothes racks so I had to try to fit clothes plus additional items/boxes in my car. Some items were left there and I paid someone to pick them up late and also another day of rent because of the items stored.

Once we left Dayton and got to Columbus, we were in the heaviest rush hour. So basically, I was paying for us sitting in traffic all because the movers were three hours late. This was not a part of the original deal.

Once we arrived at the new location, the movers told me that Manny hadn't told them that I was moving into a townhome with stairs. They also didn't have enough blankets/wrappings for all my glass mirros or pictures etc. Manny called them and told them that I was required to pay in cash. He would not answer my phonecalls. When he finally answered my phonecalls, he told me that it wasn't his fault that the truck broke down and he could try to help me out by sending more people to pick up my items that were left behind the next day.

Of course, I had already asked someone else to do this. In addition, I explained to Manny that our agreement was never for me to pay in cash. Also, I told him that I had to pay an extra days rent and I missed my appointment for phone/cable/internet because of their lateness. He told me he would speak with his office manager and call me back to see if he could give me an adjustment. I never received a phonecall back.

Manny is rude, unprofessional, has poor customer service, lies to his customers, etc. He told me that he was located in Columbus Ohio which is a lie. He is in Texas. He contracted with Hercules Movers. They are located in Columbus. I would like a partial refund because I was not given what I was promised. I would never do business with this company again.
