CO. LIER SCAMMERS ONLY WANT TO TAKE THOUSANDS OF DOLLORS NOT A GOOD CO

  • Jul 7, 2021

I signed up around May 10, 2021 with AT&T Internet and they offered a bundle with Alder, whom they had partnered, which at the time seemed reasonable. Their package was sent on May 13 and received 2 days later. I opened the package the following week an tried to install the equipment, and noticed that the window security alarms were not compible with my house windows, and was trying to see how I could intall them; this too some time.

Finallly on June 1, 2021, I called customer service and tried to explained to them that thr indow security mechanism were not compatible with my windows, they told me it could be solved. I told them the only way it could be solved, and had to be tested was with double sided tape to be used in thr window mechanism, too see if they would stick to the windows and sills. It seems that there was a misundertanding between the agent and myself, and he stated that he would be sending the tapes immediately by FedEx. I explained to him the I would be living on a trip for 2 weeks on Jun 4, 2021.

Lo and behold, it arrived on June 3, 2021 in the early evening and I did not have time to revised what was in the envelope. When I returned Jun 16, 2021 and opened the envelope whst I found were window stickers of Alder Securities. If course that was not going to fix the problem.

Finally after coming again from another trip this week, I finally called them and explain the situation and they just pass me from one person to another irritating me with questions and more questions if I was going to go to some other security company, and I explained to them that I was not and if I was, it was none of their business, and they let me know it was, or else.

I find the modus operandi of this company very onerous, shady, unscrupulous and untrustworthy (specially when they asked what type of security I was going to have; more so when they have my address and information).

It is a shame that a company like AT&T has partner with such a company like Alder instead of promoting the Digital Life, and not only that but collecting their charges in their undle. Shme on AT&T.

WHERE in the Sam Hell is My Smoke Detector Unit ????

My Smoke Detector Unit went inoperative about a Month ago or maybe it was longer, can't recall for sure.

It woke me up one morning at about 3 AM just chirping away like a baby bird in the nest. I got up , took the

unit down from the ceiling in the Living Room and changed out the batteries . When I put it back up it triggered

the Fire Alarm Mode and Alder then called me . After a short discussion with the Tech Support it was determined

that the unit was defective and that Alder would be sending me a new one. I asked if the Alarm had alerted the local

Fire Dept and they insured me that it did not ! Well, Lo and Behold ,guess WHO showed up ? Killeen's Finest ! KFD Engine

# 3 and 4 KFD Firefighters . I explained to them what was going on and they left. Well, It's been over a Month now and I

have yet to receive a New Unit !!! IF I can't get better service than this , I WILL BE SWITCHING BACK TO VIVINT OR

GOING TO ADT FOR a Home Security System/Service !!! Alder Security, I'mReally disappointed in your all service !!!

I should have stayed with VIVENT !!!

My elderly parents made the grave mistake of choosing Alder for their home security.

Everything was fine at first...until it stopped working.

My mother called for service. They tweaked a few things via data network and the system worked again. They told my mother to please call if it happened again.

It happened again, so she called back and was told that they couldn't fix it over the data lines this time so they would put her thru to the service department. After over 30 minutes on hold, Mom hung up. Since I'm the one who pays their bills, she told me about it and I called and was told that I was being transferred to the service department. After almost 45 minutes on hold, I hung up.

We tried off and on for about a week during which we had NO service from Alder at all. We couldn't set the alarms or use the box on the wall at all.

Finally, in disgust, I called Alder and asked what, if any, amount was due on the contract as we were looking into changing companies. They put me through to a supervisor who insisted that we give her a chance. She said that she would call Mom first thing the next morning when the service department opened and make sure that Mom got connected.

True to her word, she called Mom; however, she did not make sure that the service department connected. Mom stayed on hold for over 30 minutes and finally gave up.

I called using our house phone that afternoon. While I was on hold yet again with someone who swore they were going to get me connected to service, I called ADT using my cell phone. When the Alder rep came on the line to tell me to 'please be patient, I'm still trying to get service on the phone' I informed him that it was okay, I was using the time to shop other security services.

After nearly 30 mins, the Alder rep apologized for not being able to connect the call. I assured him that it was okay and that the nice young man from ADT had set me up with an appointment and quotes. If Alder service couldn't answer or return a call, we would be switching to a company that could because we'd been without home security long enough.

Before switching, Mom and I made multiple calls to Alder to see what the contract payout would be if we were under contract. Each time, we were told 'I can't give you that information'. I shut off the auto-draft. Now we had their attention. They sent a bill, so I called them, explained the situation, and offered to return their equipment (including the box that they never serviced) to them.

Instead, they sent us a letter offering to waive the 'past due amount' in exchange for nearly $1500 because they'd apparently decided that there actually was a contract and that this would be the payout amount. I've tried to call them..spent nearly an hour trying 3 different numbers including the one on the letter, but it appears that the service department isn't the only ones at Alder who either cannot or will not answer a phone.

Bottom line. Save yourself a headache, lost time, and the frustration of dealing with a company whose obligation only extends as far as accepting your monthly payments for their broken equipment. Consumers aren't buying service with Alder, they're just buying a very expensive plastic box on the wall.

Alder home security did not provide many of the features that I had requested and required from them at the time of their sales pitch. I was assured that the system was monitored locally in Florida which was one of my criteria. I was verified by The installation technician that all equipment not connected to their system would be removed.my inquiry regarding replacement of security cameras was that they would contact me within a month as they were running a special feature. When I called them regarding the installation of the cameras, I was told that they did not have the camera that would suffice for my home. Interestingly enough there tech reps looked at what I had and said oh that's no problem. I was also informed that the time that if I had any concerns about the system I could cancel at any time. Since December 2018 I have had nothing but continual phone calls that you were put on hold for lengthy periods of time with little or no follow up. Their app does not work the majority of the time and their excuse is that it will be fixed in a couple days. This app allows me to arm and disarm my home from a remote location but since it doesn't work it is it's an inconvenience for me to be away from my home even if it is going to another part of my community. You are tied into a 60 month contract which I was told I could cancel at any time on this special promotion at the time I bought the system. This company has had numerous litigation against them I found out for misrepresentation of sales particular two elderly customers. Stay clear they are scammers.

Just got off the phone with this Alder trying to cancel my service after 5 years! I was originally under contract for 3 years. Unaware that in my contract somewhere it states that if I don't call 30 days before the end of my contract date and have them send a letter to me and me sign it and return it. I would be automatically given another 12 month contract. Not knowing this when I called on Aug 3, only to be told that my contract was up in June finishing my 5th year mind you. Because I didn't call (which I knew nothing about and so shady on there end) I was told I was under contract for another year. I was only told during the original contact, that it was 3 years and nothing about a re-up loop hole by the company. So be careful with this company and I will give this company as much bad publicity as I can, through social media and word of mouth. I may be stuck paying them for another 10 months but rest assure Alder the amount of bad press I am going to generate because of it, I will get my 500 dollars worth for the next 10 months.

So check your contracts cause you are only given a small window to be able to cancel with them. They do not work with you nor do they care. They have a D+ rating by better business bureau and not accredited and I can see one of the reason why. Any company that rely on loop holes to keep your business, is business you can't trust and I will never use this company again. When I told them to make a note and cancel my service now for May, i was told they couldn't do that, I had to call in May, ha. I will not forget Alder, cause I will spreading bad publicity every day until May. Since you feel the need to do me wrong and not be clear on your contracts and bind me to something that I don't remember or think I was told or shown. Good luck to your company, I see word is spreading fast about your company. I am not the only one. Sincerely another ticked off costumer of yours, Shawn
