Deceptive Practices and Manipulation by WorldMark by Wyndham

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to file a formal consumer report against WorldMark by Wyndham, a company that has demonstrated a shocking disregard for transparency, honesty, and ethical business practices. My experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share the details of my ordeal to warn others about the deceitful tactics employed by WorldMark by Wyndham.

I initially entered into an agreement with WorldMark by Wyndham for their timeshare services, which were marketed as an exciting opportunity to enjoy luxurious vacations around the world. However, my experience quickly turned into a nightmare. Firstly, I was promised that the service would be activated within 60 days, but it took an additional 30 days to see any progress. This delay was beyond the cancellation period, effectively trapping me in an agreement that I would have reconsidered given the true circumstances.

Furthermore, the company failed to disclose crucial information about their reservations system. I was shocked to discover that reservations are typically booked two years in advance, making it virtually impossible for any new member to secure their preferred vacation dates. This crucial detail was conveniently omitted during the sales process, leaving me and countless other unsuspecting consumers with a rude awakening when attempting to plan our trips.

Attempting to address these issues and cancel the service only revealed the true extent of WorldMark by Wyndham's unethical behavior. The cancellation team resorted to manipulation and abusive language in an attempt to prevent me from cancelling. Their disregard for customer concerns and resorting to such tactics is both appalling and unacceptable.

As if the deceptive practices weren't enough, the financial burden imposed by WorldMark by Wyndham is a staggering blow. The financial breakdown I've experienced is as follows:

Finance:

- Total Cash Price: $20,249.00

- Gross Purchase Price: $37,600.00

- Interest Rate: 17.49%

Dues:

- Annual WorldMark Dues: $1,152.00

- Annual TravelShare Dues: $158.04.00

- Annual Vacation Sidekick Dues: $49.00

The financial debt and annual revolving dues have placed an undue burden on me, leaving me feeling trapped and deceived by a company that has no qualms about exploiting its customers.

I implore you to investigate WorldMark by Wyndham's practices thoroughly and take appropriate action to prevent other consumers from falling victim to their deceptive tactics. No one should have to endure the ordeal that I have faced at the hands of this unscrupulous company.

Sincerely,

I Hate WorldMark

In my most recent visit to WorldMark in Scottsdale Arizona on March 9th, 2020 I was sold more points with promises made. I was told that the representative would call me to go over things with my daughter to make sure that we could fit it into our lifestyles with us being an elderly couple with a limited income. This was right before COVID-19 became a global pandemic which happened on March 11th, 2020. Once returning home on March 11th, 2020 and talking with my daughter we decided with everything going on and the instability that it would not be a right fit.

I waited for the call that was promised. The call never came. I then gave the representative a call and at that time is when she informed me that she no longer works there and that I was now five days out of the cancelation time frame. She then had someone who still worked there give me a call. During that call I was advised to still send in my letter of cancelation. That was done promptly. Sometime after, I received an e-mail back from them declining my request. I then called the number in the email to see why and was just told that there was nothing more that could be done it was outside of the time frame. None of promises that were made by the people that day were kept.

After further review of the contract I found another lie amongst the many that I was told that day. I had been promised 60 days same as cash for the money that I owed when looking into my contract there was one page with large font that was never shown to me that clearly said that I did not qualify for the 60 days same as cash. After arriving home, I received a bill from a credit company that I knew nothing about with a 12-thousand-dollar balance on it. While they were preparing the contract contract, they told us that there would be a down payment which we stated if so we would not be able to do it unless it was put on the back of the loan.

When going through all the paperwork no where do we see where we signed a credit application. Once looking into it further, I made another call to them. I was once again told that there was nothing that they could do for me. When asked if they hold their representatives accountable for the promises that they make my question was just ignored and I was told once again that nothing would be able to be done for me.

I have been beyond disappointed with this experience from this company. I have been with them since the early 90’s and have never been treated so poorly. My only ask of them was to honor the promises that were made and to make things right and allow for me to have my account placed back the way it was before all the lies and missed promises.

Purchased a platium ownership time/share plan for my family. Recently, Worldmark change their plan that limits my families use of their facilities without an additional fees. The plan was sold on the merits of a family oriented program and the change was never discussed in their presentation. This change has totally erroded the value of the Worldmark program to me and my extended family.

What started out as a great way to take a vacation anywhere in the world had ended up being a big dissappointment. We bought the timeshare in March 2016 and have never used it. We found out the timeshare costs alot more than a vacation we could book ourselves. They stop your and invite you to see a presentation, thinking your getting free trips back to Las Vegas, free shows at clubs. Their short presentation took up our whole last day of vacation. The salesmen paid us such attention to get us to buy, wouldn't stop, unless they had a sale. They rush you to make up your mind, give you champaine and then blast you with tons of paperwork you have no time to ask questions or understand the methods used are deceptive to sell timeshares they are misleading fraudulent, liers!!!

My alleged debt is due to to WorldMark by Wyndham deceptive sales methods and misrepresentations. Couldnt even get into our Timeshare online in the beginning didn't even recognize our email address., they said theyd get back to us but only for collections, which I am trying to write to them and others that will listen to get out of this stupid contract. We were to get free extra point 7000 but for a cost, didn't tell us that was a deadline too!! So if you ever go to Las Vegas or anywhere to vacation beware of free stuff and timeshare presentations!! You''ll never have the money to go on one because of all their fees and finace charges, book your own all inclusive, BEWARE!!!!!
