I had a mororcycle stored long term at WoodStock Harley for over 2 years , I was told it need to be removed in the middle of the virus out break.
I had contacted Dave , the service write ,and so did my sister on picking the bike up. I had told them it will be going on a long (1400 mile ) .To change ALL the fluids and tires . When I picked up the bike I was billed $800 for 1 tire 3 quarts of oil and a filter and the primary gasket.
Here is what I found.
The "new" front tire hasd a build date of 32 week of 2017 - the rear tire 29 week of 2012. So a new tire is 3 years old and the rear 8 years old when 6 years is the limit on tire life .The engine oil was low more then one quart and black- capacity is 2 1/2 quarts. The transmission at minimum level
The primary fluid was black - I measured 15 ov when the capicity is 35 oz + the primary chain had 1 1/2 deflection when 3/8 is spec. Woodstock Harley is charging for a new tire when it is old - much like buying food that has expired of out of style clothing and charging for new. The work that they have done is not done correctly as oil levels were low and adjustment out of specs.
They had not done work that I requested and a serious saefty issue on a old tire.
