Window Design Group Reviews

Terrible company

It's been over a year since we bired WDG to install 4 windows. And from day one it's been nothing but problems one thing after another. Only 3 windows have been installed and two of them had issues. One window they used screws that were to long & they went through the wood frame on each side of the windows which resulted in holes. The other window already has a crack on the frame! I've been dealing with Tanya Bramson & have asked for 40% of the $8524.07 we paid them. And she has the audacity to offer me $500.00 which really would have been a refund of like $169. & change because they owe us our $ back for the window that was never installed. Then she offered $700, so a little over $300. Refund. She told me I could talk to the owner Cynde but of course that hasn't happened. WDG is a horrible company to do business with. They are unprofessional & greedy. They can't own up to the mistakes they've made and all the problems we've had with them.

I didn't want to give a full star but it didn't let me only do half. I will tell everyone I can how horrible they are & will post any place where I can leave a review.

I want our money back.

Paid a contract in full on 03/05/2018 for custom shutters for my whole house, I was given an estimated completion date of 6.5 to 7 weeks from 03/05/2018. As of 10/15/2018, over 7 months and several failed attemtps to deliver my product I still don't have it. In addition to the shutters, I also ordered custom shades (rollers), the shades were delivered on 02/13/2018, one of the shades was the incorrect size. On 02/13/2018 I was promised by the sales person, Jenna Locke, that it will be replaced ASAP (I have all texts and emails comunication with Jenna about it) as of 10/15/2018, 8 months after I still dont have the correct roller. Please read below timeline for a better undertanding of how many opportunities I have given this company to correct the problem and deliver the correct product I paid for.

WDG Roller exchange timeline

This is only a partial list, I have extensive detailed emails and texts communications regarding the exchange and refund of the roller with several people in the company.

10/20/2017 contract signed and paid (see 2nd page #5 “estimated completion date 5-7 weeks from 10/23/2017.

02/13/2018 Installation of the rollers and one shutter, almost 4 months after signing the contract. Several emails and texts were sent to the company about this delay. On this day one of the rollers that was installed was the incorrect size, please see emails and texts exchanged about this. I was promised the roller will be exchanged ASAP.

04/06/2018 2nd attempt to get the correct size roller, almost 6 months after original order date, installer wasted my time bringing the incorrect roller.

04/06/2018 contacted by Tanya Bramson, promised to get me the correct roller and a full refund because of the inconvenience.

05/28/2018 3rd attempt to get the correct roller, installer wasted my time bringing the incorrect size for the third time.

06/09/2018 4th attempt to get the correct roller, installer wasted my time bringing the incorrect size for the fourth time.

08/31/2018 5th attempt to get the correct roller, installer wasted my time bringing the incorrect size for the fifth time.

09/06/2018 Tanya Bramson sent an email stating that the roller has been re-ordered, two weeks’ time frame was given.

10/04/2018, Please see email sent by Tanya Bramson, “the shade was made to clear the gap and will be installed on Tuesday, 10/09/2018”

10/09/2018 6th attempt to get the correct roller, the installers did not bring any roller to my house. After almost 10 months from the original order date I still have the incorrect roller in my house, the exchange was never completed, and the refund promised on 04/06/2018 was never honored.

WDG shutters order timeline

This is only a partial list, I have extensive detailed emails and texts communications regarding the shutters with several people in the company.

03/05/2018 contract signed and paid (see 2nd page #5 “estimated completion date 6.5-7 weeks from 03/05/2018).

05/26/2018 1st attempt at the installation of the shutters, 2 months after signing the contract. Several emails and texts were sent to the company about this delay. Installers arrived at my house with the wrong frames (Jenna, the sales person entered the incorrect specifications in the contract, I was not aware because I am not a window professional). A re-ordered was processed.

08/11/2018 2nd attempt to get the correct shutters, 5 months after original order date, this appointment was never completed because on 08/09/2011 I was contacted by the company to re-schedule it for 08/20/2018 because they had made a scheduling mistake (5 months waiting).

08/15/2018 I was contacted by Tanya Bramson to inform me an installer took part of my order and it needed to be re-ordered, 4 weeks’ time-frame was given.

09/12/2018 I initiated contact with the company about my shutters, Tanya estimated an additional 2.5 weeks.

10/09/2018 3th attempt to get the correct shutters, installers wasted my time bringing the incorrect shutters again (7 months after original order and payment).

10/09/2018 after waiting 7 months for my shutters Tanya Bramson stated that they had taken the wrong measurements, I told her I no longer wanted to deal with her company and demanded my money back immediately, she said she will speak to Cindy at her company to let me know when will I get my refund, she never called me back.

10/09/2018, Demand for immediate refund was sent via email giving them until Friday, October 12, 2018 to issue a full refund.

After my demand for refund, there has been no attemp by the company to inform me when would I get my full refund.

To All Prospects of Covered Glass Inc, DBA WINDOW DESIGN GROUP who are performing due diligence on this company:

Sadly, I need to share my story.

I ordered two windows in March of 2016 from Covered Glass Inc, DBA WINDOW DESIGN GROUP. The price was approximately $5,500.

A man named Keith Dwyer came out to the house to measure. At the time of his visit there were many house projects planned and many were underway.

He seemed pleasant enough and we discussed at great length having a home requiring minimal maintenance, including but not limited to; window painting. It was crystal clear, I wanted aluminum, so there would never be a need to paint, ever. We further discussed fake grass amongst other things to further minimize routine house work. There was zero doubt aluminum is what this customer wanted.

Numerous calls and emails ensued. All of Mr Dwyer's emails refer to "aluminum".

I was told by him it would be 3 weeks for delivery.

Three weeks go by and no windows.

My original contractor had to leave the job due to the fact he couldn't wait any longer and had other jobs scheduled.

Nonetheless, delivery arrived 3 weeks later. And, unbelievably, a combination of aluminum and wood windows show up. Wood???

I denied the delivery since they were clearly the wrong ones.

The product was never offloaded the truck. Never received.

I had to seek out another supplier. Interestingly enough, the other source delivered windows approximately 10 days later. Exactly as planned and were subsequently installed.

I reached out to Covered Glass Inc, DBA WINDOW DESIGN GROUP to discuss their mistake. They denied wrongdoing. Furthermore, even though there is not a single word in their documents that states the word "wood" they still did not accept their mistake.

I called my credit card company to dispute the charge. Apparently after some investigation by Bank of America, the charge on my card was reversed. Afterall, the bank just doesnt eliminate a charge without investigation.

Months later they send a small claims courts notice. Really?

I will now have to make waste my time to make sure that every website and governmental authority in the land is aware of their deception. I have better things to do.

Covered Glass Inc, DBA WINDOW DESIGN GROUP is a company I would recommend thinking twice about.

So pathetic. Especially sad to the employees who work there.

I only wanted what aluminum, not this bs.

Chris Margott, of Window Design Group advertised on the internet and in the Orange County Register newspaper, gave us a guote for shutters in our home. We adamently insisted that we wanted basswood shutters and he assured us that they were made of basswood and manufactured locally. I asked if he would put it in writing that they were basswood and he told me I could look on their website and it would have all that info.

My husband trusted Chris Margott and chose to give him a check for half the purchase of the shutters. Eight weeks later, we received the junk from China that the installers had to put together. They were nothing like the sample shutter that Chris Margott displayed to us.

This company and Chris Margott are fraudulent and should not remain in business. We are stuck with the garbage until we can purchase basswood shutters from any one of several honest companies that manufacture shutters in California.
