The Over a four month period two root canals were done on my daughter plus other work totaling $2700.00 that was paid for in advance using care Credit. Special deep cleanings that were also paid for were never performed. Both root canals failed and we had to get a second opinion because they didn't seem to know what they were doing while over this four months my daughter was in pain. At the second opinion we were informed that the tooth needed to be pulled and the root canals merely prolonging the inevitable. After notifying Western Dental in Whittier, Ca. we were going somewhere else and showed proof that the tooth had to come out and deep cleanings which Western Dental said they performed and charged for were never done and still needed to be done. Throughout this ordeal I had documented everything that happened and also filed two complaints about incompetence with Corporate which were not responded to. After sitting down with the office manager we agreed to a refund of most of the charges made to Jennifer's Care Credit account. After two weeks we saw a Credit of only $163 of the $2400 actually was made. The office manager didn't understand why and said Corporate was still reviewing the case. I finally got tired of dealing with Western Dental and went and filed a dispute with Care Credit. On 4/7/17 we finally received a refund of the full $2700 on her Care Credit account. On Tuesday 4/11/17 I received a call from Western Dental collections telling me that now that they refunded the amount to Care Credit we now owed Western Dental $2500.00 and that I needed to go to the office and pay that amount???!!! The refund just took place. We haven't even been notified in writing what was taking place much less requesting payment. I called the office manager who also didn't understand and would get back to me. How could a company like this be allowed to do business!!!??*****

This business is literally top tier shady in the dental industry. i’ve been going to this location the past few months only because i thought this was the cheapest and only place my insurance worked with (my fault for being ignorant). but they are literally known for telling you that you need more work than you actually do!

for instance, they convinced me that i needed to pay $400 for a specialized cleaning even though my insurance covers a basic cleaning and they literally refused to do just the basic cleaning! is that even legal?! anyways, they also mysteriously uncovered several cavities even though every other dentist i went to before that said i had only one cavity that needed fixing.

Now thanks to western dental, i have a bunch of silver in my mouth for NO reason. they literally drilled my teeth and created space for these fillings. i wish i had done my research before hand to know that this is something that commonly do.

on top of that they tried to convince me to drop $3k on wisdom teeth removal when every legit dentist i have seen before has told me to never mess with wisdom teeth until they start to come to the surface. i went to another credible dentist and it turns out i only need one wisdom tooth removed and i DONT need to be sedated like western dental told me (more $$ for sedation).

Please call your insurance company and ask which other dentists you can go to because this place is a FRAUD. i wish i could get my money back and time that i wasted here.

THEY LEFT IN A ROTTING TOOTH THAT DECAYED OTHER TEETH! I LOST FOUR BACK CHEWING TEETH TWO UPPER RIGHT IN THE JAW AND TWO LOWER THE OPPOSITE SIDE. I COMPLAINED FOR YEARS ABOUT THE FOUL ODER ON MY BREATH. THEY DID NOT GIVE ME ANTIBIOTICS AFTER TWO EXTRACTIONS. I FELT VERY UPSET ABOUT LOSING SO MANY TEETH AND THAT THEY LET ME SUFFER PAIN THEY TOOK SO MANY EXRAYS EACH TIME AND THEY STILL DID NOT GET THE ORIGINAL DECAYING TOOTH OUT. I DID COMPLAIN TO THEM ABOUT THIS SEVERAL TIMES AND EVEN SIGNED UP FOR THE CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THEM BUT STILL HAVE HEARD NOTHING. AFTER THE LAST EXTRACTION I WENT TO ANOTHER DENTIST TO HAVE THEM TAKE XRAYS WHERE IT SHOWS QUITE A BIT OF MY LEFT LOWER JAW SHOWING. THE GUMS SANK VERY LOW THAT IT WORRIED ME. THE NEWER XRAYS WERE DONE BY ELVIRA A DENTIST CLOSE BY MY HOME ADDRESS. SHE WAS WELL INFORMED THAT I WANTED TO DOCUMENT THE DAMAGES!

Please avoid going there at all costs! It's a complete rip-off place.

So, I had a deep cleaning and done back in March 2017. I don't have dental insurance, so I paid the huge amount in full right after at their office. Yesterday (Feb. 6th 2018) I received a letter from them, saying I still owe $165.50. Thinking this is surely a mistake I called them today. They said that I still owe them for the toothbrush and the toothpaste they gave me that time. I DID receive those items, however, they told me this is part of the treatment. I would've NEVER agreed to buy a $165 electrical toothbrush! Furthermore, why didn't they charge me for this the same day they gave it to me and I paid for the treatment!? Now, almost a year later, they want to get paid for it!? OR the two other times I went back to take care of some filling!? Why charge me NOW!? When I told her, it's ridiculous to even charge that much for two simple items, she gave me a discount and I ended up paying $145.

I'm beyond furious!! I will never ever go back there and I will tell everyone I know to avoid Western Dental. Their reputation isn't the best to begin with - now I know why!

I HAVE READ MANY REPORTS ON THIS SITE THAT ARE EXACTLY LIKE MY COMPLAINTS. This company uses Gestapo tactics to high pressure unknowing trusting patients , usually in pain to agree to ridiculous contracts for amounts that are inexcusable.

First of all I am speaking about patients with good dental insurance who WD is an "in-network"provider. Their game is to try to upcode proceedures that are not necessary. In anticipation of the insurance deny claims for these services they simply tell patients its a non covered treatment.. Well imagine my surprise after speaking with my insurance compant and finding out they were absolutely covered treatments however the WD did not bother to send sufficient proof these treatments and chemo treatments ( their word not mine) were necessary.

Even worse they were asked specifically and lied to my face about the in network allowed charges to the patient. Meaning they told me for example the crown they decided upon required an upgrade and the total cost would be a couple of thousand dollars. and they would only get less than half and the rest i had to pay. That payment took a year and was 1/5 of my total income a month.

I found out the insurance covered all of it abd at a rate that was 1/4 of what they claimed I had to pay. Overall my responsibility for the work done last year , per their provider agreement with METLIFE Dental , was under $600. They charged me $1400. They added in stupid items like a crappy toothbrush that did not work and they would not take back, $45 mouthwash!

even worse they failed to alert my insurance of a secondary insurance which in this case is Denti-Cal. I was to have zero out of pocket, they agree to perform dental services for extremely low negotiated rates.

After reading the other complaints , I too have to add in the special deep root and scaling and gum treatments they said werent covered, were also not needed. This year they started a root canal. When I told them i could not commit to $1600 worth of cleanings they claimed they couldnt risk finishing my root canal because the gus might get more infected. They are red, but not infected. They also informed me a rather new bridge which is way better that the work they did on one crown, would have to be replaced immediately. THIS WAS A BLATANT LIE. A second opinion confirmed the deep root plaing at this point might very well cause an infection as the tooth needs to heal rather than deal with the gums.

I was also informed that it should take no less that 45 mins a side for this deep root cleaning and scaling, last year I was finished in 10 minutes I know because I asked why it was so fast and they actually made up a lie. The entire staff are usually in on the required vebage when a patient has any monetary concerns, this leads me to believe they are offered incentive to upcode the work done. Aslso not on top of the special deep cleaning they charged y insurance for a normal cleaning and a 45 min consultation which literally never took place. Basically when my insurance requested additional proof of necessity, they simply sent in a covered code. They also never billed Denti-Cal and that is insurance fraud

My complaint can be veriified at the Insurance Commissioners office as I am making a formal complaint . It just so happens an ex of mine works in that office ..as .. you guessed it... an INVESTIGATOR. So I urge anyone who has had high pressure to agree to a money contract for an IN NETWORK dentist like Western Dental is in almost every insurance plan. Double check the invoices and make sure the address is correct, as I found out my address had an error and that was why it took me a year before i realized how badly these people were ripping me off.

Also if WESTERN DENTAL TRIES TO CLAIM YOU CANNOT CANCEL ANY MONEYTARY AGREEMENT WHERE THEY ARRANGE CREDIT FOR YOU WITH THEIR FAVORITE CREDIT PROVIDER ( WHICH IS ALSO WESTERN DENTAL) THIS IS A LIE. IT IS UNAWFUL FOR A DENTAL PROVIDER TO CHARGE FOR WIRK NOT YET DONE. SO IF YOU GET HOME AFTER BEING IN PAIN AND REALIZE YOU SHOULDNT HAVE AGREED TO A BUNCH OF EXTRA WORK OVER THE EMERGENCY TOOTH WORK, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL IN CALIFORNIA. Your dental plan whether Denti-cal or private all have clauses that the patient is allowed to pay as they go for treatments and a dentist may only charge for actual work done.

Sorry for the long post , I hope it will help people to challenge what this scam corp. tell innocent trusting patients. I hope they are fined and investigated. I urge all people in the greater Losangeles area to try contacting the ABC news investigative team.

I and my fiancé had gone to western dental to get a free colsulation plus X-rays for our oral and orthodontist dentist appointment they stayed it would be all free and only a check up. Once we were seen an hour and a half after our appointment time scheduled, they were telling us how much the braces cost would be and all the work they were doing would be the cost of what the braces would be. They did not say that they were also going to charge for the regular oral hygienist work. I kept asking them how much that would be before the started the work and the dentist didn't even allow me to get answers he was just stating they will give us all information after they were done. So then I asked the lady doing all the financial work and she stated that it would be the same as the braces nothing extra and that the bill would be every 27th of the month. She provided me the price for me and my fiancé and let me tell you they were not giving him any information so they were just doing work on him that was not even given by his consent.

Then they got to doing all the work on us. Once we signed paper work I and my fiancé were both drowsy by all the numbing medicine they gave him 4 shots and I had 10! I didn't not remember anything that was going on. You are not suppose to sign paper work when you can't even function! Wrong on their end! Before we were seen and in the waiting room we signed the paper work and we signed that we wanted all paper work with our information, and like I said once we left we were both out of it and we got home and that next 2th and 3rd we got charged already! When they stated that it was only going to be 229.29 every month on the 27th so why are they now charging us double well looks like they forgot to give us copies of our bills and contract.... So then we went into the office and there was so much paper work they did not give us and so many other payment dates that we signed for which like I said don't even remember because they had us sign paper work not fully responsive. So to make things easier since now we have a total of more then what they originally said just for braces which was the total of 9,000 they added an extra 6,000 that we were not told about or aware about. So to be able to even afford that because that put us at 3 different payments on every 2nd, 5th and 27th of the month! Are you kidding me I have rent every 1st of the month!

So I called 2 weeks before our payments of the 2nd and 5th and the lady Flor stated she changed both those dates together for every 15th of the month so that puts us at only 2 payments month not 3... Well I check my account 09/02/2017 and look what I found 119.30 taken from my account.... after I called to confirm on Friday September 1st to make sure that our payments were both changed to the 15th and receptionist stated yes that it is the 15th and the 27th only... so why are they charging me the dates that weren't not suppose to.... well that's western dental for you they don't care about your health all they want is money.... so looks like I am going to get charged on the 5th and what also the 15th and the 27th?! So instead of it being 2 payments monthly now they added an extra on the original 3! Putting us at 4 payments and that wasn't even in the contract! They are horrible and the are making me lose my mind and I can't even afford living because of them any longer! Some one please help! I am in great need! :(

My wife went to Western Dental in Victorville, Ca. Her one and only filling came out, so she got it checked out. They told he she would have to have a root canal and a crown on that tooth. Total cost w/o insurance over $6,000.00. With her insurance, just barely under $3,000.00. We couldn't afford it, so she went through Western Dental credit for the cost of the dental repair. The credit/loan was approved through Western Dental by Synchrony Financial. When my wife told me the cost of this by Western Dental, I knew it was way to much, as I had a tooth done for half that price with our insurance elsewhere. She called our dental insurance company and they confirmed that the price was out of line, AND the insurance company also stated that Western Dental did not list the correct insurance dental codes on their paperwork to our insurance company. So, my wife went to Western Dental 2 days in advance and cancelled her appointment. What did Western Dental do? Rather than cancel the credit/loan, they took the money, even though my wife cancelled the appointment and DID NOT have any work done. So now we are getting bills from Synchrony Financial. We called Sychrony Financial and they don't care. They told us we needed to straighten this out with Western Dental. So we call Western Dental Corporate, 4 times already. In each of those calls to Western Dental Corporate, lasting up to 2 hours each, being transferred multiple times, being told they would take care of it, being told that they would get back to us within a couple of days, Western Dental has never called back. We got another bill from Sychrony Financial today 5/4/2016. My wife called Western Dental again today, was transferred 4 times, and put on hold for over an hour and she finally hung up 5 minutes after 5 PM.

So, despite my wife cancelling her appointment 2 days in advance and not having any dental work done by Western Dental... Western Dental, rather than cancelling the credit/loan, took the money anyways, deposited it, and expects us to pay Synchrony Financial for work that was never done.

That is dishonest. That is thievery. We are in the process of writing a letter to the State Attorney's Office, County Attorney, City Attorney, Better Business Bureau, and the Credit Agency.

And I will not stop until Western Dental fixes this and repairs our credit in this manner, because there is no way in hell we are going to pay for services that were never done.

Hi folks i have a real life horror story about western dental of palm springs california, about two years ago i won my ssi case. I was in serious need of dental work and was forced to wait 7 years by ssi for a settlement i won 7 grand i used this funding to repair my teeth well i planned to. i made a appointment went and was told i need a 800 dollar cleaning before any repairs, so i signed to start the work i was told i would have two appointments to complete the work. after the first cleaning i was billed for the entire amount before the work was complete that night when i got home when the novcain wore off i immediately started experiencing severe pain due to the work that was done earlier that day. i tried call there hotline only to get a busy signal. Later the nextday i woke up choking on a broken tooth a result of western dental handi work. i was furious as i had no broken teeth before i started. so i went back and was told it would be two to three weeks before i could see anyone so i asked when the cleaning was to be completed so i could make a differant appointment i was told the cleaning was done in full thats why i was billed..... Really this clown of a dentist only worked on half my mouth then broke a tooth. I immediately demanded to speak to a manager. i was told the manager was on vacation and no one could help me really... these stinking people break my teeth then rip me off after i waited 7 years then these same people filed claims for root canals 13 of them using my medical at 800 bucks each this action caused medical to deny all my teeth work for almost two years and yes im seriously pist off, then these same people filed a falsified claim against my bank demanding payment sending my bank a document claiming the work was in fact completed. the bank was force to pay western dental. I was forced to call the bank and tell them i wanted bank robbery charges filled against western dental. the bank was in a stand still and western dental had my money by was of fraud and i have the proof.

Next i choose to other dentist not affiliated with western dental - brite now dental and dr shellia sales of palm spring two of the very best in the area with tons of reconition awards to review my case in both situation these dentist claim western dental failed 100 percent in performing the work service they where paid for brite now claims western dental did not clean my teeth at all in a professional manner in fact damage is and was caused. i took these two doctor statements and handed them over to the bank manager who reviewed them and forwarded them to senior management for review once reviewed western dental was notified of action being taken by the bank. I requested the bank to file criminal charges against western well this never happened.

Now here in 2016 this same western dental sent that 800 dollar claim to collections who's now threatning to sue me really folks i need your help to sue these people in california there are no attorneys that will take on this case however there is one who use to now retired i talked to this man once and he told me its a slam dunk for the right attorney

If your an attorney reading this please help us im terminally ill and do not need this nightmare i cant get anyone to help if you are a attorny willing to help i will give you 50 percent of any thing you win for helping me as your total fee im poor and cant afford attorneys thank you

I made an appointment a month ago at El Cerrito Western Dental. When I arrived, the door was open, no one in sight. A middle aged woman, walks in and told me," We do not have appointments today. She went into the back office and had a conversation with another woman, whom came and sat at the reseption desk. I was hopeing she would ask me something-like may I help you? After 5 minuets. I told her I had an appointment. But since she did not greed me, i guess I was wrong and she was wrong in not greeding me. That is her job- that is what resception means. These people have a very abrrasive attitdue If that is how you are tretaed in the front office. I do not need to see your back office. I left and would adviise people to stay clear of Western dental. They have erned thier bad rep.

I went to Western Dental on 12/24/14 for a cleaning & an upper right tooth extraction. I was convientanly charged almost 1500.00 dollars which happens to be my yearly maximum. I ended paying 774.00 because my insurance co. claimed that there was a duplicate claim. Western Dental claimed that they pulled 2 teeth on this date. A tooth that was pulled about a year earlier and already paid by my insurance co. Therefore I got stuck paying for it. I just received received my explanation of benefits statement almost a year later.

I origanally went to Western Dental because i had no medical insurance except from medical in sacramento county. They did not cover for the dental problem i used carrington 500 dental plan to get a discount on a build up and porcelin crown the total balance was $786.00 and i paid $100.00 with my bank card and then $53.00 dollar payments were set up with the balance of $686.00 i have been paying on the account until it was gone with my last payment on July, 2015. 5 month's go buy and i'm chipping away at all bills owed so i could clean up my credit slowly paying off each debt feeling proud as a single mom to my horror i get an e-mail from credit karma telling me something was on my credit because i monitor it so closely. Horrible i see the balance of $486.00 from Western Dental Centers.

I call the customer service .they transfereed me to the grievance department when i had to explain i owe nothing i am holding in my hand a invoice showing my last payment of $32.00 that was my total balnce on the account so when i paid it i felt so good. The grieviece tells me well you dont owe $486.00 you owe $230.00 we went back and fourth and i am holding the proof in my hand she tells me i'm sorry it was human error. no contact at all. no mail. no bill. no phone calls just an automatic turn my unpaid balance to collections. She said they audited my account and decided i owed $230.00 more. I am going to write the CEO Dan Crowley of Western Dental Centers @ P.O box 1259. Dept #18882,Oaks,Pa,19456 as the grievance operater from Orange,California provided me his name and address her name was Angelica #21220.

If anyone else has exprienced a charge that comes out of no where and turned into a collection agence without any notice i advice a class action suit to see how many others have been over charged by western Dental Centers due to human error with no way to dispute the charge. Please feel free to write this CEO like i am doing tomarrow. I work to hard to let someone steal from me and my daughter, her father commited suicide last year and i took care of my brother who was sick with cancer and passed away in Jan,2015. They are horrible people and i'm still mouning but i will not let this company do this to me or others, they must be stopped. I will take any help from an Attorney if offered.

My wife went into Western Dental in great pain. At the time we did not have any insurance and she needed a root canal. We went into Western Dental and paid some money up front for services and received a payment plan for the rest (services that were to come later...we paid for this visit)

My wife went in for the root canal and when she came out, she was literally crying and in great pain. I did not really think much of it, because it was, afterall, a root canal. By the time we got home, the pain was so bad that she threw up and her jaw was swollen twice its size. I called Western Dental and explained what was happening and the first thing the person on the other end of the phone did was barraid me for pushing 1 on the phone for new appointments. Fianlly I got through to another person who asked if we could come back in and we did. At that time, they had the Dr give her a perscription for pain.

After several weeks of pain and complaining (jaw still slightly swollen), they finally brought her back in. The SAME Dr. took a look at her, did x-rays and basically said he didn't know why she was back, everything was fine, when clearly it wasn't.

To make a long story short, it was told to us that the Dr. who did the procedure wasn't qualified to do it. After SEVERAL weeks (again) of going back and forth (and still in pain), she was able to go see a specialist, at Western Dental's expense. Meanwhile, we were getting bills for a crown and services for a crown for my wife, that had not even been done (she was supposed to return for the crown at a later date).

The specialist stated that there were still exposed nerves left and basically, it was a hack job (my words, not his). After a few months (procedures had to be followed for him to get paid by Western Dental), he was able to fix the problem.

During this time Western Dental PROMISED not to send us to collections because the case was still open. Next thing we know we get a letter from a collection agency from Western Dental! I called Western Dental and the lady on the phone actually told me that she didn't know why I was so concerned about it and I told her because it affected my credit and she basically didn't care. We called the collection company, but they have little they can do.

After spouting off on Facebook about it, my wife got a call from Wetsern Dental's headquarters who seemed concerned, but that was short lived. He talked a good game, but nothing was done.

When it was time to get a crown on (about a year later), my wife was scared to death to go back to the Western Dental Dr. and we stayed with the specialist and used our now new insurance to pay for it.

I again called Western Dental to let them know and that they sent us to collections for services they did not provide. I asked that they remove it from collections and every time we call, we get a promise of a call back and never get one. If I go to the office, I will probably leave in handcuffs.

I want it removed from collections is all. If I have to go to court, I will also ask for pain and suffering.

All of the "pesons" and "lady", we have the names of, but I left them off of here because I didn't know if I could get into trouble using them. We also have dates and times of contacts.
