WageWorks, Inc. Reviews

  • Apr 12, 2020

I left my company on 1/14/2020 but retained insurance coverage through to 1/31/2020. At the end of the year my Wage Works account contained $103 which automatically rolls over to the next year (up to $250) and can be used for medical bills occurring in the new year. I submitted medical records for $753 for services delivered in January 2020. Wage Works rejected the claim stating I had left my employer on 12/31/2019.

I simply wanted to receive a refund of the check I sent them just last week. My wife and I were under the impression that services would start from the day they got the check going forward. Or at the least coverage would start the following month. We were shocked to find out when we got a bill for yet another $913 for coverage to be activated and the money I sent went towards a month that had already come and gone. If that had been made clear I never would have sent the payment as my very low income family could not afford to pay $900 towards coverage that we never used for a month that was already past.

The 1-800 customer service number has been no help as the about half dozen reps I talked to barely spoke any English between them. And when I requested to speak to a supervisor and got someone who spoke English, she was very unsympathetic of my situation and simply told me I can submit a complain in writing.

We never used any coverage in May. And June is almost over. And you guys want another $900 before coverage in June is even active. This was all a mistake. If I had known I would be paying for a month that was over we would have simply waited and got coverage elsewhere that would start when we needed it.

We dont plan on using the coverage and didnt use the coverage that apparently we paid for in May. We simply would like to be refunded as this was all a mistake and a misunderstanding. I was hoping for a little sympathy as my small family can not afford to reach into our savings for another almost grand. Coverage hasnt even officially started and how hard would it be to send us a check for coverage that was mislead from the start.

My company uses this dishonest company, Wage Works, for all kinds of benefits to include health insurance, HSA and also for transportation. The problem started when I signed up on 12/06/17 to opt into its Commuter Program which I was told would reimburse on commuter fees like Metro fares and parking. Shortly thereafter, Wage Works took money directly out of my paychecks without warning twice. The way that they did it was abnormal for them: 1) They took money out ($510- $255 for metro parking and $255 for metro fares) on 12/11 after I signed up for it on 12/06/17. According to their reps, they are supposed to do it within the same benefit month (Jan 2018). Since it was not yet January, I was confused by how early they deducted my money. 2) I cancelled immediately afterwards and also put in a ticket, along with multiple phone calls. Shockingly enough, WageWorks still deducted the money again for that same amount ($510).

When I called, they claimed that money is normally taken out on a bi-weekly basis. 3) That whole time, my metro card was never loaded up. In fact, I reported it lost and stolen, when money was deducted the second time.

I filed a claim with WageWorks through the Pay Me Back form for a refund as some other reps had advised and they rejected my claim immediately, claiming that I have no proof that they took out money from my paychecks. They wanted actual receipts of the deductions. If I provided them with what they've given me - confirmation through email, WageWorks balance, and actual pay stub information - how can that not be evidence? Also, if the company does not provide receipts of those transactions how can we as customers, provide them when they were not provided in the first place? I was never given any warning and actual receipts for these deductions. To reject my claims, based on that, is d**n ridiculous.

Note to Wage Works: I'm currently, at this time, working with my company to recoup my money. I had one of my company reps in HR put a note on my account to prevent more money from being deducted for no reason. I've been having high blood pressure about this whole situation since 12/11 when money was deducted way too early. Rest assured, I plan to contact the IRS and other government entities to recoup my money (well over $1k) from you.

I attempted to log in on March 31, 2017 to make payment and was able to log in and got to payment screen however the button for March payment was grayed out and didn’t allow me to make payment. I’ve spoken with ADP Reps in which I requested copy of log in info never received.

After filing an online complaint with the Georgia Insurance Commission office I was advised to contact the Department of Labor because they handle Cobra. In July spoke I with Ms. Bennett at Department of Labor who advised me to send a letter to ADP requesting a copy of my login history and cancellation information from your system which letters were signed for with no response.

After sending certified letter to the CEO of ADP October 13, 2017 I received a call and letter from Susan Ziroc of Wageworks and have the data requested.

I have more information for the timeline and ALL Documentation they claim to have sent me (letters about coverage and cancellation of coverage) and MY issue is as follows:

I believe my access ADP website to make payment was terminated. I’d reached my deductible by January 2017 and I find it strange my Cobra benefit was erroneously canceled the next month

The information forwarded to me in November 2017 from Wellcare has an incorrect address and wasn’t provided in their letter in June? ADP/Wageworks didn’t provide this information previously either after has an incorrect address on it also and both entities have the correct address? Also there are letters Wageworks

I logged in on March 31 and got to payment screen, payment button wasn’t highlighted however that day doesn’t show on the login sheet mailed to me? Also my account was deactivated after escalating this matter, I haven’t been able to log in since May?

I was advised my coverage was terminated effective February 28, 2017 however claims were paid for DOS after that?

I was layed off in July and the company I worked for offered me continued health care coverage thru Cobra / Conexis / Wageworks. I signed up and started making payments to Wageworks. I was informed that I would be able to use my same insurance provider (Anthem), just as I had been previously.

Well Conexis never informed Anthem that my policy was reactivated. So I was forced to pay all my medical expenses out of pocket. I made dozens of phone calls to find out why I was not receiving coverage. They kept me on the run around for over 4 months even though I was continuing to make my monthly payments to Wageworks.

Well they never resolved the issue so I requested a backdated cancellation of the whole contract since I had never received any medical coverage and my Anthem insurance was never reactivated. After another month and dozens more phone calls I was told I would receive refund in 30 days. Its now going on 2 months since I cancelled my contract with Wageworks and they have not issued my refund which is $795.15.

They are the co.that handles the flexible spending acct for our hospital They cut off my card that is used to pay med. expenses without any prior notice When I received the e-mail I immediately contacted them to attempt to resolve the problem. Was told what I needed to do and the time frame for the reinstatement of my Card. I went to the provider and they faxed the correction/credit,I called them from the providers office to make sure they in fact rec'd adequate documentation and they assured me that they had rec'd it and it would take 2-3 days (they would send me an e-mail) for my card to be reactivated. 2 weeks, still no card re activation and they now say it will be another week b/c they said I did not notify them that the documentation had been sent. Even though they admitted to rec'ing the phone call from me while at the provider 's office. When asked for a supervisor they told me I could write a letter to their excuetive escalation team that they had no phones. But that after rec'ing my letter they would call me in 1-2 days. The money that backs this card is my own money, that is deducted weekly from my check.... I'm very unhappy with the length of time it is taking to resolve this matter, because of their incompetence. I will not be using their service again and plan on contacting my employer to see if I can change my deductions now and get the money I have put in back.

Wageworks is supposed to allow you to deposit money into an account with them. AKA Healthcare savings account. The money deposited is to be used like a debit card to pay for Dr. appointments, lab work, medical etc... I used the card to pay a physician bill. Wageworks paid the bill then froze my remaining funds on my card stating they needed a receipt with the clinic name spelled out. It was abbreviated. I obtained another receipt per their request. Uploaded it to their website and have done this several times now.

Each time they deny the receipt for different reasons. This time they are requesting full personal details of my dr. visit which I believe is a violation of my civil rights and personal privacy. The fact that they are keeping money I deposited and refusing to release or refund it back to me is fraudulent. This dr. Appt was in Feb it is now Oct. They are also claiming the receipt I sent is for 2014 and not eligible for payment but the receipt clearly states Feb 2015. I am not able to reach them by phone. I want to sue them!!!!
