Volkswagen Credit Reviews

  • Oct 21, 2018

I have a 2016 VW Tiguan. I kept it in mint condition. I could have had 36k miles on it but returned the 3 year lease with only 30K miles. I had it detailed before I returned it.

During the 3 years, I had to replace 2 tires. The tires were the worst. I brought the car back with a one new tire that was about a year old and the other tire was a week old.

VW charged me for a RR flat tire. I did not bring the car back with a flat tire.

Now, there is absolutely no way to get in touch with VW credit. I have tried calling them many many times over the past few weeks and they have never once answered the phone.

There is also no eamil address, contact info or website on the bill.

I believe this is fraud.

End of Lease charges are a joke with VW Credit. I leased a 2013 VW Beetle and drove it to the end of the lease. I decided to turn the car in early. Delivered it to the VW dealer 2 months early and paid the lease off to the end. The dealer liked the car, sold the car in a very short time around two weeks later. The car was in perfect condition regarding wear, mileage was under the alotted amount by almost 10 K miles and all was good. Now I receive an end of lease charge of 350.00 for end of lease inspection etc. There was no inspection as the dealer already sold the car. I talked to the dealer and he said no problem and that he would take care of it. I get a call from VW leasing stating that I owe them 350.00. I asked for what? They said for the turn in and inspection of the vehicle. I asked if they talked to the dealer and they said yes but I still owed the 350.00. I asked what services were performed to justify the cost of the 350. They didn't know but said I just owed it. I asked them to see any kind of inspection report etc. They couldn't give one.

It's surely not the money. It is the principle of the work vs. compensation. No inspection was initiated, no cost to VW as the dealer resold the car and took responsibililty. I fail to see what the charge is for. Now if I was going to lease a new vehicle from VW, then they would wave the charge of 350.00.

I believe it is a bureaucratic mess dealing with these people. It will be a blue day in you know where before I even think of buying or leasing another vehicle from Volkswagen. It's these little things that make a company pleasant to deal with. VW has their problems, I know and this is just another little one on the pile.

Long story short--

Their website was faulty, complained, couldn't fix it, so i have to pay by phone every month.

But that is not why i'm here.

This is why --

Month a: call, pay bill

Month b: call, says bill is past due. Speak with customer care to confirm. Pay both bills in full and customer care waives fee due to my perfect 5 year bill payment standing. Assure me everything is fine.

Month c: call, pay bill. Double comes out of my account. Call, complain again about faulty phone service. Tell them to apply the extra payment to my next bill.

Month d: credit dinged 80 points due to *late payment*

Ridiculous. Faulty services, multiple complaints, and i am punished - not them. Time for a class action law suit.

Very serious mishandling of my account which has resultant in the incorrect reporting to the credit bureau. I have excellent credit due to the fact that I always pay my bills on time or within the grace period; this is the case with your company.

On June 10th at about 2pm I called and spoke to Jasmine. I authorized her to pay my monthly payment of $220.20 from my chase account on file. I confirmed of the info with her and the call was ended. Apparently even thought she had indicated during the call she had the info she needed she did not complete the transaction. She then called back much later that day and left a voice mail that did not refer to this problem. I did not received the message and it was not relayed to me by my family as normally an urgent message would have been.

I had left on a family emergency trip to Chile and was gone for almost a month. When I returned from Chile I contacted VW credit to be informed at first quote rudely by collections that my account was 30 days past due and the payment had to be made immediately . I of course paid and asked to speak to a supervisor who was refused to do anything to fix this situation with the credit reporting. Also she refused to let me speak to her supervisor, Rich, although I ask several times .

She did waive my late fee but my main concern is the detrimental report on my credit. My point is an error occur when Jasmine processed my payment as although I was not informed she has to give me the confirmation number . The funds and account were correct but she did not finish the transaction. When she called back much later as I had already left for the airport she did not indicate there was a problem on the message. Furthermore VW has my email and I was not notified of any problems. I did not make the mistake it was done by your agent so I should not be penalized.

Hopefully you will resolve this correctly and retract the negative credit report as I was not at fault. I have been a very good customer of VW and this is my third VW purchase. I would like to continue supporting your company but can not with this level of inequality . I am very upset by this incorrect action and if it can not be resolve by your company I will report this to the authorities
