Received a call on 12/4/2015 asking for $200.00 to close out an account from American Reader's that has an outstanding balance. This would also stop any other companies from calling to collect money from me. American Reader's was the main company that sold my name to other companies. If I received calls from other companies I was not to pay them and call 1-888-649-7776 to report these companies. The gentleman's name that I talked to was Mel.
Today, 12/9/15, I received a call from United Reader's and told them I should not have to pay anything because U. S. Holding Legal Services reportedly took my name off all of the call lists. I tried to call the 1-888 number and received a message that this number has been diconnected.
