I signed up with Together LA about a month ago. Jody my membership counselor had me completely sold that there dating service was better than all others and world's better then something impersonal like match.com. She assured me that they had "quality" men in their service and that their matchmakers are the best at going out and finding exactly the man you want. I wasted an hour talking to Jody about what I was looking for in a man....now that I'm signed up every match they send me is not even remotely close to my "type". This service is also EXTREMELY expensive. They took my $1500...won't give me a refund, not even a partial one. When called out on how crappy their service has been, the woman who signed me up brushed me off and no longer takes my calls. When I call to talk to her she's always "out of the office." I know it's my fault for signing up in the first place, but admittedly Jody's sales pitch was extremely convincing. I walked out of her office feeling like I just invested in the best dating service everywhere.... Mr. Right was just a few profiles away. DON'T SIGN UP!! They'll take your money and pair you with the most uninteresting and unattractive people in LA. Grrr......stupid stupid of me to sign up, but when the promise of finding Mr. Right forever is presented you...it's hard to turn down. sassytiki Culver City, California

I was divorced in April of 2008. It has been very difficult for me. In addition I suffer from depression, which only worsened after the divorce. I thought that dating might help. I went on the internet and found The Two of Us. On December 23rd I went to their offices and met with Joyce Muscara, a sales person. After gathering some information, Joyce laid down a contract for $8,900. I was astonished and ready to leave. Suddenly the price went down to $3000. From other compliants I have read about this organization, there is no fixed price. It's whatever you can get out of the customer. I was reluctant to sign. I explained to Joyce that I was going to see my ex-wife over the holidays and I wanted to see how things went. She discouraged me from doing this. She said "It's not likely that you'll reconcile after 34 years. Go ahead and make it a Christmas present to yourself." So I foolishly signed the contract and initialled several paragraphs that I did not read. Joyce did not inform me that there were no refunds. The following day I decided to cancel the contract. I called and spoke with Kathy. I told her I wanted to cancel. She said there were no refunds. I didn't have time to follow up since I was leaving town for the holidays. When I returned on January 5th I called and spoke with Kathy. I explained that my wife and I had decided to work on patching things up and that I no longer wanted to date. I asked for my money back. She refused and told me to put my demand in writing, which I did. Curiously, following this discussion, Kathy called and referred a female client to me. I sent my demand letter in the following day. Two weeks later I received a written denial with the threat that if I did not use the services my $3000 would be forfeited. I have since researched this organization and found that there are so many complaints against it for high pressure sales tactics and terrible service, that a class-action lawsuit might be in order. I have been extremely unhappy with Together Dating Service. They pressured with desperation tactics in an uncomfortable setting.

I recently received my final match from the site and I am going around telling everyone that this is the biggest waste of hard-money. It is a scam, and they try to sell you on these romantic pictures on an album that the service works. They first lure clients, I have noticed, mainly desperate good men who mean well by placing signs on the signs with a town's name and then the domain name org. You then visit that site and a short time later, they call to "set up" an appointment. That is where they bait you to sign with them.

I encountered a woman who was attractive with nice hair, it is fair to say to the average man, she was "hot". Heck, she might as well been sitting in the chair in a string bikini and batting her eyes at me even more to play on the feelings of desperate men. It is criminal what this company does and how they have existed 35 years is beyond me.

All in all, I got ONE date out of five matches, so that means the one date I went on cost me 5000 DOLLARS, yes, that is right. And to complain and write your concerns to them, is a useless gesture. You probably would have been better off trying to receive a Christmas gift from the Scrooge.

The first match was okay but decided we lived too far apart to have any dating prospect. And then, the next four have been nothing short of a disaster and waste of money. And all Together does, is smile and get my credit payment for almost the next two years. I don't know how they sleep at night knowing that they mislead and fraudulently play on client's feelings. Shame on them!
