Twin Cities Harley-Davidson Lakeville Reviews

  • Dec 20, 2017

I made a purchase of a 2017 Harley Davidson Iron 883 with only 176 mi, it is practically a brand new one, in fact they even gave me an interest rate of a new bike. So my first issue is that they pushed me into buying some additional plans/Service with some scare tactics, one of them was the 3 years Prepaid Maintenance Plan Service, the way they explained to me sounded like it was something that I HAD to take, or the factory warranty would be voided, they told me it would cost OVER A THOUSAND dollar a year to maintain a Harley and i would be saving some money with this plan (Bull$hit), so when i got home i did some digging and turns out i dont have to, even the other HD dealer said they dont even offer it because it is not worth for the customers, (i have this in writing), especially because this is a brand new bike.

And Another Harley Dealer told me they would cancel if i changed my mind. The other was a "Service Contract" charge which to be honest they didnt explain what it was i just saw it after i came home. So i called them the next morning to have to these "optional items" removed from the financed purchase price and they told me they could not remove the 3 year maintenance plan because it had already been funded with the bank (by the way Harley's own Credit union) so they could not take that amount out of the finance and also because it was a prepaid service via third party company. But they said they COULD though remove the Service contract, so i dont understand when they said they were not able to remove the Prepaid Maintenance charge because it was already funded with bank, so how's it possible to remove this one then?

One other thing i got ripped off was that they added some parts to the purchase price which was supposed to be free since they were not able to grant me an actual discount on the price tag. we talked and i asked that they give me these for free instead, the sales guy goes and talk to the manager and comes back saying all is Good. but it turned out they added it to the price as if i had ordered it. so I asked them to remove that from the financed amount and again the same story, they cant because it has already been funded with the bank.

Bunch of BS and horrible experience as a first time buyer, I will NEVER spend my money on that particular dealer.

I tried contacting HD corporate but they pretty much told me it is my problem and that they are not responsible for Dealer as they independent dealers. Contacted the Attorney General and BBB but only so much they can do. Lakeville General Manager and Finance Manager both rude and didnt care about it, even threatened to repo my bike since i had not yet taken possession of the bike waiting for the parts i shouldnt even have to pay for.

NOt sure how or if i have any recourse to recover $3295 they ripped me off.
