Toscana Cove Reviews

Stay away from this place they are at it again. Now I have to deal with Bed Bugs. The tenant next to me had a serious out brake of bed bugs. After she left they treated the apartment, now I think they are in my apartment. All they did is drive them into mine. I am being bitten to death by bed bugs.

Today the new tenants tried to move in next door and found it still infested with bed bugs and they rented to her anyways. It was confirmed by my exterminator and the apartments exterminator on Nov. 16th that I do in fact have bed bugs and I have been waiting to here from my apartment manager on this matter. My exterminator believes the whole building needs to be tented. The apartment exterminator told me I had to prepare to have my apartment sprayed by boxing and moving all my items to my very small kitchen and bathroom. And that I have to laundry all my clothing, around 30 loads. And for my couch they will treat it.

Like really everyone I talked to said you need to replace it. Also that all my belongings will still contain bed bugs. That spraying alone will not do the job. that in a few weeks the bed bugs will be back. November 21 2017 I did not here from my apartment manager, so I called. They said the Exterminator said he did not find any live activity in my apartment and no treatment was scheduled. But the exterminator was shown recent bits, a 2 bed bugs, one was alive the night before, I also found 2 live ones this weekend. That there is live activity. And that they would not be able to do anything until November 28.

11 days from the discovered out brake and that I need to prepare my apartment. That I need to dispose of all papers, magazines, and cardboard, take all things off the selves, etc. Why do I need to do this, the apartment is at fault, they did not properly deal with the bed bug out brake. Not using the correct procedures for such a massive bed bug infestation that recommends using spraying, and heat. and doing the whole building. As tenting it. That any less will do little, as they will return, in a few weeks. That spraying my apartment will not completely remove the chance of of the returning in a few weeks, that some items may still be infested, that the bed bugs are hiding in walls, in other apartments, and other infested locations will continue to be.

I feel that I should not have to suffer, financial, medically, or mentally do to the apartment owner/managers laxed procedures in handling this matter. And that if they handled this the right way the bed bug infestation could of been contained with in the apartment where the out brake originated.

This is my second review of this place. Last time it was a water leak in my bedroom from water pouring in from the outside wall. That I had to do most of the repairs myself. And they claimed I did none of it they did I had receipts for the materials and photographs to prove I did the work, and they claimed I lied. Before that a broken toilet.

I had to poop in a bucket from Friday til Tuesday, I finally had to call a plumber out to fix it. The apartment complex paid for it. But never a apologized for it. I am done with this hell hole. Nov. 25 I am still living with bed bugs, can not sleep, can not eat, just sick from all this. My back. I am in so much pain trying to get all my things packed away. Laundry being done, Cleaning everything, steaming areas that need it. Filling in the spaces between the walls and the plumbing with caulking, {there should not be gaps between} And I still not heard one sorry from the manager, They caused all this. But that want me to suffer, and spend my time and money fixing it. Well they are not getting away with it I filed a complaint with Renters Protective Agency {https://www.rentalprotectionagency.com/complaint_center.php} and I am prepared to file a lawsuit, as well file a complaint with the Health Department.

I am tired of the rich making the poor suffer. The bed bugs come FREE with your apartment, Be care full what you sign with your lease. What You Need to know BEFORE you Sign a Bed Bug Addendum http://ibbra.org/what-you-need-to-know-before-you-sign-a-bed-bug-addendum-2/

They are making you responsible for ANY bed bug infestation that comes your way, even if comes from another tenant next to you, above you, or other.

What if you moved into your new apartment, a few days later you find bed bugs living with you, and you know they did not come with you. Well guess what you just Signed a Bed Bug Addendum when you moved in that you will have to pay the cost of a exterminator. Please read the above article before agreeing and signing a new lease here. Do NOT sign it. Ask questions: Because I tell this, this place has bed bugs. Not just a couple of apartments, I know for a fact several apartments have been hit by bed bugs in the 700 building, all caused by one tenant that was infested at the high end. And that the management failed to react in regards to treating that apartment, or informing other residents of that building of any bed bug infestation, to warn any residents so they can take measures to try to protect themselves and their apartments at any level.

That the management did NOT provide any preventive measures, as sealing around and filling the void between plumbing and electrical supply lines (water heater, under sinks, and AC/Heating units for example). Sealing around switch & outlet covers, Sealing other gaps with in the apartment that bed bugs can fit through. Or treating the surrounding apartments to contain the infestation to that one apartment, until they were able to enter the apartment where the infestation originated and treat it. And that they (the landlord) made sure to try to contain the bed bugs with that apartment by sealing around and filling the void between plumbing and electrical supply lines (water heater, under sinks, and AC/Heating units for example). Sealing around switch & outlet covers, Sealing other gaps with in the apartment that bed bugs can fit through.

Then treating the apartment as well as the apartments on the right and left, and the one above it and the right and left of it. To at least try to contain it. But they did nothing until the resident moved out, and they only sprayed that apartment and did not do any of the above. They simply drove the bed bugs in the walls & ceilings, where they entered other apartments. And continue to spread out ward. What the landlord wants you to do is to except the blame and they except NONE. DO NOT DO IT! Fight back. DO NOT SIGN! If enough people do not fall for this, it is crap. No one has the right to make you suffer. Why should you pay for what they caused, by not doing what is right. They want you to pay for their negligent actions.

A tenant has a right to live in a habitable rental property. What does habitable really mean? The law of habitability basically makes maintenance of the rental property the responsibility of the landlord, who must comply with local building and health codes. A habitable property is one that has adequate heating, water, electricity, cleanliness, and is structurally sound. This includes free from rodents and vermin, including bed bugs. I recommend that you do some research before you move into any apartment, and read all you can about your rights before signing anything. Have a tenant advocate or a tenant attorney read your lease before signing, if nothing read you entire lease and ask questions before signing it. Do NOT let they push you through not reading the entire lease. I have NO love for the owner/landlord of Toscana Cove Apartments, they force the managing staff to sell their integrity for a pay check, and they are better than that, as well as the other employees here. Sorry I do NOT SELL MY INTEGRITY SO CHEAPLY! Or at all. The employee's need to tell the Owner to GET OFF and find a better job. Well guess what today it is December 7 just over a week has passed since they sprayed for bed bugs. And I still am getting new bits.
