Tidal Concepts Reviews

This company is a complete scam. They post job listings on all of the major job search engines, advertising openings for Public Relations positions, Marketing spots, and Management opportunities. They call you almost immediately after you reply to the ad, saying they need to bring you in for an interview the following day because management is trying to fill the position by the end of the following day. I scheduled my interview for 11 am & arrived there on time. I was given a single sheet application & told to wait out in the lobby & fill out the paperwork while I wait to be called on. There were about 6 other young people, presumably recent college graduates, doing the same thing I was doing.

Finally, after 30 minutes, I was called on & followed a well-dressed young guy into a conference room where a young woman & another young guy were waiting. I sat down, expecting usual PR job interview questions, but they never came. One of the guys in the room took over the interview & told me how amazing the company was. He told me that they just landed a contract with a LED lighting manufacturer from Upstate NY & that the "firm's" job was to conduct direct sales on behalf of the company. Red flag #1 - PR work never involves direct sales of a product. They marketed the product to me as a NY company that hires NY workers, and manufactures their products in NY for NY Small businesses.

I was told right there in the interview that I was selected to move on & asked to come in at 9 am the following day to tag along with an employee for the day to see if I was fit for the job. There was no talk of compensation, despite me asking, although the job is advertised as having a salary between $40,000 - $60,000 per year. When I asked about other clients they have represented before, I got more vague talk. I left the interview feeling this was a scam, but wanted to make sure. A basic online search of Tidal Concepts comes back with nothing. It is almost as though the company was brand new. I decided to do a Google search of the physical address where the interview took place & a treasure trove of information fell onto my lap.

I discovered years of fraudulent business practices & criminal activity. The Upstate NY LED manufacturer is none other than Rhino LED, who lists a business address the same as Tidal Concepts. They don't manufacture LED lights, instead the sell products from companies like iBright & eLucent at prices double & triple fair market value. Their website even invites customers to submit their information to schedule a consultation with one of the Certified Energy Auditors. The Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) accreditation is administered by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) & requires the candidates to go through a rigorous evaluation process & written examination.

The AEE website has a database of every person ever certified as a CEA. I searched the database & revealed that there is not a single CEA associated with Rhino LED, nor has there ever been. I also saw other "PR & Marketing Agencies" that were based out of Today's address & they were all scams. Each one involved the same job listings, the same hiring process, and horrible job requirements. Only after the third interview do you discover the job is 100% commission. They offset this disappointment by offering management training & rapid advancement to a position that pays salary & full benefits. Those gullible enough to stay on get assigned an area where they sit in Walmart or Target parking lots & harass people to buy their crap products, using the untrue sales pitch you are taught from day 1.

In the event you miraculously sell some of these products, chances are you still never see your commission pay because they withhold the money for compensation to the company for the "free training" they forced on you. Then once you are done compensating them, you are quickly terminated for not meeting intentionally unattainable sales goals or some other reason they create. In the interim you are treated as a piece of dirt by your "supervisors" and the treatment only gets worse as your time as an employee increases, with them hoping you will quit. Once you are no longer employed there, another round of unsuspecting victims respond to their fake job listings & go through the same disrespectful process you did until they also reach the point where it is time to go.

This is nothing more than a pyramid scheme that uses a fake PR & Marketing Agency to push Rhino LED's crap products. Just think CutCo, only cheaper. So where do the other companies come into play? They are all the same, run by the same people. Prestige NY is the same thing as Tidal Concepts, only operating in Suffolk County. Prestige NY has the same job postings online & follows the same hiring process that Tidal does. The one thing that differentiates the two is that Prestige NY's main "client" is a company that creates car care products which are endorsed by several current & former NASCAR drivers. I cancelled my interview with Prestige NY after the joke at Tidal, so I never discovered the name of this so-called car care product company, but I would be willing to bet the house that they have a business address the same as Prestige NY (17 brandywine Drive, Deer Park, New York).

Additionally, Tidal & Prestige are connected by more than their identical illegal activities. The "President / Owner" of Prestige NY is Jessica Irish. The "Owner" of Rhino LED is none other than her husband, Ryan Irish. Jessica & Ryan have been leaders of this scam for the better part of the past decade. Their cohorts include Robin Nick Gayle, Phillip Anthony Dazzo, and Crystal Kershaw. They have operated under several different names over the years, including Prestige Promotions, Dazzo Marketing Solutions, Affinity Concepts, Guardian Consulting, New York Promotional Events, and Auto Glass Shop LLC. They have preyed on young professionals & recent college graduates for years. Once word gets out on the scams, they go underground for a little while until things cool off then they reappear with a brand new name, engaging in the same exact behavior.

They would be more difficult to link together had they not used the same two addresses for every scam business they created. If you are reading this you are probably researching the company as a prospective employer. I implore you to stay away from them. Also, if you know of anyone searching for a PR or Marketing job, especially recent college graduates, warn them about these companies. Don't let this predators victimize anyone else. I plan on pursuing this matter as far as I possibly can, reporting them & turning over the evidence I have to the Suffolk & Nassau District Attorneys, the NY Attorney General, the FTC, the BBB, and the NY Department of State. In the interim, I felt the need to post this warning so others are aware of their scams so others can stay away while the authorities take the time necessary to bring forward successful prosecutions.
