I was traveling in So Cal and drove on a toll road. I assumed I would get a bill in the mail. About a year later I received my DMV notice to register my car and they had a charge for over $100. The charge to drive on the road was $3.45 and the late fees were $45.00 and $48.00. We call customer service and they removed one of the late fees. How can they charge a late fee when they haven't sent some type of bill requesting payment? This is a scam and they are using the Cal DMV to collect.
I am a redisendent of L.A. County. I drive a lot for work and I am in different cityes over the country. Last week I entered the toll roads system in Irvine, CA. my GPS took me there and I did not realize it was a toll road untill it was too late. I am ok with paying the toll fee, however the fees seemed a bit high for the 2 miles I used the toll. The shocker was when I realize the city of Irvine's penalty is more like 300% of the toll fee. This is a complete abuse of power by the state and I feel completely outraged by the curruption of this agency. I will fight this abuse. I want some one that knows how to handle this abuse to help me. Thank You!
