The Pink Plumber Reviews

  • Jun 8, 2018

On May 15 2018, I had an emergency plumbing issue at my home.

The situation gave me a great sense of duress. I am a 61 year old widow, looking forward to retiring next year.

I knew a needed a Plumber NOW!I contacted the Pink Plumber. Service Technician Felix was dispatched to my home.

I am providing an account of the events and supporting documentation.

I did not and have not received of a copy of the work authorization or invoice from the Pink Plumber

In this day and age I know billing process has “paperless”, however the “straightforward pricing” being used is a crock. Thesese people are SALESMEN first & plumbers second!

I feel that is a tool for services to take advantage of people ----We have too many PREDITOR business in this world.

After more than an hour and picture after picture, Felix informed me the coupling connecting the sewer line had broken. In addition, the toilet flange was leaking. Felix supposedly called “his boss” to report the needed repairs. The total cost I was quoted to replace less than 20 feet of piping and a new toilet flange $ 5185.27.

Pink Plumber has outside financing available, through Greensky, subsidiary of SunTrust Bank.

I submitted an application electronically via Felix's tablet and was approved for $10,000.00.

I signed the work authorization and was told by Felix since the bill was being paid by Greenskye, the full amount would be submitted on 5/15/2018. At this point, no repairs had been done.

On May 16, 2018 I contacted the Pink Plumber and spoke with Rob. I explained feeling of being taken advantage of. That their cost is much overpriced because I did some research on materials which has led me to this conclusion. He contacted Felix who was en route to my home. Felix called me. I explained my position, to which Felix got a little condescending by saying I told you more than once the full amount would be run through Greensky before services were performed. I enlightened Felix his condescension and that we aren't getting anywhere.

I then contacted Greensky (855-597-2812), eventually making contact with Chelsea Kidd (Customer Service Manager). I explained the situation to her, asking for assistance as the full amount had been paid to Pink Plumber and no repairs had been done. While I was on the phone Felix was waiting outside. I continued my conversation with Chelsea. She stated she would contact Blaine at the Pink Plumber and that if I didn't want them to provide services I needed to contact them and initiate cancellation. Which I did

Had the pink plumbers (AKA Aames plumbing and heating)out for a pump out and a system check for a buyer of my home, after the pump out I was told I needed a part for my septic tank (I was having no problem with my septic tank, but I needed a letter saying the system was working properly for my buyer). The part was a short PVC pipe called a Baffle tee and was told that part was $454.27,because i need the letter(and they new it) I had the part installed. After the workmen left I got online and found the same part for $21.00,I'm a senior and live on a fixed income and thought a 2000% mark up was a little much.So after contacting the pink plumber about the cost of the part I was told "I just did'nt understand"(I'm a retired Appliance tech with over 40 year experance,I think I "Understand" more than they think I do)Check out some of the other reports on here, they are over charging people on almost every report and some for the same part they repped me off on.I have filed a complants with the BBB,the Ga.consumer protection,The GA.Secretary of state, sos.GA.Gov.licenseing dept, and others. Beware using these people....use at your on risk...

Pink Plumber serviced an up flow toilet in my rental property. They charged over $200.00/hour.

Quoted $295.00 to pump out a 1500 gallon septic. When tech arrived he asked me what year the tank was installed. I told him 1999. He said that it probably a 2 compartment tank so the price to pump would be $435.00

Tank wasn't a 2 compartment but he still charged the $435.00 because it had a filter. What a load of crap.

They charged me $334. 95 to do a "hydro-blast" which I noe found out isn't necessary. In fact they were find over 200K last year August 4, 2006 for this type of add on scam. Trying to get at least the 334.95 back but the owner won't call me back.

Scam. Stay away from the Pink Plumber

They take great pride in their customer service. When I tell you that they are the worst please believe me. They are very greedy and they could care less about you and making you a satisfied customer I have since read simular reviews by many others; sure wish I had seen those first

charged me twice for the same job that they did not properly repair on the first visit. Kept me waiting for 3 days before they returned.

Do not call The Pink Plumber for pumping out your septic tank and expect them to perform the task without using scare tactics to cost you thousands of dollars due to bogus fixes, inflated costs and offers to front you the money if you put $1000 down, and agree to a payment plan.

Examples: I was charged an extra $158.64 dollars because the edge of the septic slab (approx. 4 - 6 inches) was located beneath my sidewalk! I was charged $385.00 for the replacement of the concrete T-baffle (which they busted out) with a 6"dia x 6"L piece of PVC attached to an 18" straight piece of PVC. I was charged $295 for pumping out the tank, plus an additional charge of $382.84 for sludge over 18", plus a charge of $161.39 for the tank being over-filled! Since they claimed the tank was "overfilled" they also claimed there was sludge in the drain field line. This was an extra charge of $2,490.00 to "jet" the drain field line and add some sort of bio-chemical to help clear them.

There was a "no charge" of the above $385.00 for the outlet T-baffle.

Also, they were going to charge me a fee of $535 just for having to get into the tank to clear the main line from the house, which I do not beleive was even clogged. All this person did was climb down into the tank and use a shovel to "supposedly" clean out the main line from the house. They then decided to not charge me for this for some reason??? If this all sounds on the up and up then I have no problem with it. It's just that I was basically at their mercy when they had the lid off of the tank and stated that if they didn't perform all of the above that they would just have to come out in 2 weeks and pump it out again.

I have 4 children and my wife and I both work to support our household. I cannot afford to be ripped off... if this is in fact what happened in this case. I just feel like they just kept piling on charge after charge while I had no choice but to have them do the work. I was alse told that if I didn't have the drain field line jetted out that it could cost me at least $7,000.00 to $10,000 or more to have then dug up and replaced.

All totaled: $333.48! $1000.000 of which I had to pay on the spot then $745.06 one month later, and now I have a year of $132.20 monthly payments.

Just needed to put this out there to see if anyone else has had similar experiences.
