The Pelican Reviews

  • Jul 26, 2018

Christopher Patrick Lewallen, previously convicted of consumer fraud in 2012 by the Arizona Attorney General (and the subjuct of other Rip Off Reports), is now operating an un-licensed, un-registered company called The Pelican Contents Restoration Company in Phoenix, Arizona. He also uses The Pelican Contents Storage, The Pelican Family, Pelican Power, and DisasterLink when conducting business. The Pelican Contents Restoration Company does not exist anywhere, other than their own website.

Please do not do business with any of these companies; it's not worth the risk!!! It's another scam he is running!!!

Christopher Patrick Lewallen/The Pelican Contents Restoration was called out to our home by our contractor Valley Wide Restoration (see his Rip Off Report) to pack, remove, and store our personal belongings after our house flooded. They packed up absolutely EVERYTHING.

if it wasn't nailed down, it was removed; down to our clothes, food, and even toilet paper!

The first bill we received was over $30,000.00!!! The Pelican apparently decided that all of our items needed to be "restored." The deepest the water got in our home was around an inch deep, but they were charging us to "restore" dishes that were high up in cabinets, clothes hanging in closets, items that were stored in rubbermaid containers, etc. After months of negotiations, we couldn't get Christopher to reduce his bill any lower than just under $12,000.00; $12,000 to pack, move, and store the contents of a 2000 square foot home for a month, is absolutely rediculous.

No lien was ever filed, and Christopher refuses to release our belongings; he is illegally holding everything that we own as hostage, trying his best to extort his $12,000 from us. He has threatned to auction off our belongings and/or throw them out if we don't pay. They have even asked us, "How much are your belongings worth to you?" In addition, he refuses to supply us with a detailed inventory, so if by chance we do get them back, it becomes difficult to prove what items they actually removed from our home. It has been over a year now, and we are currently in the middle of a lawsuit with him and Marc Faseler/DisasterLink. We have no idea if they still even have our belongings.

During all of our negotiations with Christopher and his "company," we discovered that he runs this business with a partner named Marc Faseler. Marc owns a licensed, registered company by the name of DisasterLink. I have since been in touch with a past customer of DisasterLink, and this is how the scam works:

Customers call DisasterLink (a legal company), and Marc sends out The Pelican. The Pelican arrives, they have you sign a "work Order," but do not supply you with any pricing (written or verbal). They then remove as much property as they can from your home, and hit you with inflated billing. They now have all of your posessions and do anything in their power to get as much money from you as possible. When you get your property back (you have to pay in advance) and discover missing belongings, they respond, "If it wasn't on the inventory list, we're not responsible for it."

What they are doing is considered a civil matter. As a result, don't expect help form any law enforcement agencies....you are on your own. Court is the only recourse. Be prepared, though, your belongings are gone; you will not get them back. These individuals have no respect for the law, and since this is a civil case, there in nothing forcing them to return your belongings (not even a court order)! In addition, Lewallen currently has several judgements pending against him (including the 10.6 million 2012 Arizona judgement), so collecting from Lewallen is all but impossible (and he knows it)! The best course of action is to go after Marc, although he was just hit with a $100,000.00 judgement in 6/2018 and another one pending (another in addition to ours). Be prepared to move forward with you case with little response from Lewallen or Faseler, and be prepared to file PPWK for garnishments, they will NEVER pay on their own.

Above all, don't believe ANYTHiNG that either of these guys tell you; they will do whatever they need to do or say to make a buck.
