The League sends you a message from "The Desk of a Leading Member. No name. They congratulate you as being selected a new League member. They include a bill for your first installment to the League booklet, saying you will become upon wealth and fame. They claim to have a 1216 page manuscript that they will send you that will change your life.

On their website theleague.com, the cie claim they operate in my city (Montréal of Province of Québec in Canada) but after a week on their app, I haven't seen one single women from my city. So I asked them to refund me and they refuse.

All it gave was their Fax number and P.O. Box number and no real phone number. They are supposed to give Free Secrets. It talk's about sending or Faxing the certificate will make me rich, once i get their " Secrets " LOL .

I received a 10 page typed letter and numbered certificate extolling my special virtues that make me eligible on a very select basis to join the league. It is an exclusive secret organization made up of the rich and famous and powerful the letter is from tom who is legally bound to remain anonymous. You will never have heard of us, but you will learn our clandestine name in time. He obviously had my name and address and said i would be surprised at how much the league knows about me. He goes on and on to rave about why i was one of the few chosen for invitations in 2017 tom said he resides in the upper echelons of wealth and power. If i accept the invitation, i'll immediately award a gift of immense value to you...Free of charge.

If you get the same or similar letter, don't fall for it as some in texas have, according to complaints filed elsewhere on this site.

I received a letter from The League which is suposedly a secreit soceity asking me to join them . It looks like this is a ploy to get my personal information.

Received letter from "Tom" with no other identification promising great things if I joined for free after identyfying another "sucker"

I received the letter inviting me to join their organization. Because it seemed too good to be true, i decided to get on the internet and check out the league. Fortunately, it did not take but a minute to find the outscam where there were complaints from many. I did not fall victim to them, since i investigated before i made any decision to joint this organization.

They said very few people know of their existence and "we go to great strides to ensure our anonymity". Since they were appealing to me to join them, everything was going to be free. I highly suspect that once they get me into their web, they would then appeal to me to pay money toward other possible things, or information of their "secrets".

I hope this helps. I am fortunate that i did not fall for this scheme.

I received a very flattering 10 page letter from "the league", saying i had been on their radar for some time and was now nominated to join their secret society, along with the world's famous, rich and powerful. The writer of my letter claimed to have once been the most powerful man in the world, Vladimir putin? Bill gates? Pope francis?) with his name in the news every day. His father was a miner who died in a tragic accident, and his mother left him in the care of grandparents. The letter was signed, "tom". Their author told the same life-story and signed himself, "bill". My letter told me i could learn how to seduce anybody, and that all of this is completely ethical. Who wrote those ethics? Machiavelli? My further internet research revealed that whomever is behind these letters asks for $130 some dollars, plus even more money for more information.

Such a scam! I don't know how The League got VC funding - but it's pretty much a scam. I paid for a full year membership, just to bring me back to the wait list screen (that I have been #2,000 on for over two years anyways!) It says only 100 more people are needed in my city - but over 3,000 people have joined locally and that number hasn't changed in months. The app now says I'm #1 out of 145,555 people nationwide and I'm missing the $179 to use the app and be a paid member. Shame on you all. If I'm not eligible to be on the app, so be it - but don't OFFER to let me in for $. If you're not ready to scale after two years, you're not going to survive. They also insisted they wouldn't offer refunds and ignored other requests.

The League app claims to be "different than the zillions of dating apps out there" — see their homepage — which is true: it is worse. I received an anonymous email saying that my account was suspended because I moved to Italy, which would be against The league's terms of service. Too bad the reality is the opposite: I left Italy, and any embassy or consulate can confirm that. I thought the email was a joke or a scam, but it was true: my account had been suspended. It is also true that I often visit Italy, simply because I am Italian and all my family still live there. But I don't see how this could be considered wrongdoing, even after rereading their terms of service, which don't mention traveling at all.

The same email said that I could contact them if I had "questions". I replied by saying that basically their undocumented claim was incorrect, but nobody responded. Lack of professionalism.

I have been a moderator on a lot of websites and online communities since 1995, and this is one of the supidest reasons I have seen to exclude a member.

So, if you are going to download The League app for iOS — I have an iPhone but it probably works on iPads too — keep in mind that you could receive an email from a person who prefers not to say who they are and who will tell you that you have moved… to Italy. They hate people who travel? They hate Italians? They just wanted to kick me out and invented an excuse? Go figure :-)

More importantly, The League app is a colossal waste of time because very few users respond or talk, in my experience less than 5%. This percentage is lower than other popular dating services, both free and subscription-based. Considering that they don't accept people who have an international career, such as me, the app turns out to be far too limiting. It is unclear whether so many mute accounts are real, or are fake, or are inactive.

My advice: you can just sign up for any other dating app or website, and save time: in fact, unless you are invited, The League app will put you on a "waitlist" for weeks, months or even years. Why wait for so long, when you can interact elsewhere right away? Also, when you find out that almost all the accounts are mute, you will realize that the "waitlist" was completely useless, and that you have been wasting your time. It is one of the very few apps in the Apple App Store (they don't have an Adroid version) that you can't use just after finishing the download.
