Received flyer for FREE DUFFEL BAG Never recieved; Ordered June 2, 2021 (Marvin, licensed insurance agent) 3-5 weeks for delivery; Was sending manually due to no email at the time

Called back: July 13, 2021 (Amber, licensed Insurance Agent) wait another 8-10 weeks , Marvin mis-informed you. Gave email and was promised it will arrive; changed dates of travel due to waiting for package.

Called back July 28, 2021 Still no duffel bag James; give until august 13th. Never received.

Aug 16th, 2021 Spoke with Allen; they immediately pulled up info from phone number. "give it another week; it comes through a 3rd party. ( I informed them I was interested in switching companies but if they can't even deliver a free gift why trust them with my personal info and bank account/Credit Card numbers)

recieved 5 flyers for same "free gift since June" funny how they advertise "The buck has your back" NO the buck bucks you in the back because they are scammers/frauds/ and liars!

September 7: Called spoke with James (licensed agent) says they have a backlog. (since june???) Arranged my entire trip to wait for this non-delivered bag. Told James not switching company until I get the bag. I don't trust your company already!!! It went from 3-5 weeks delivery to 8-10!! What if I wait 10 weeks to send you a check????

Promising a free gift and not following up makes Hartford and AARP look really bad!!!!! I'm thinking about discontinuing my AARP service and calling Hartford daily or hourly until the bag arrives since I chose to cancel my trip waiting for it so it's not sitting on my porch letting people know I'm not home or getting stolen. SHAME on YOU!!! Hartford!!!

Warning! Do Not Work With Faye Brooks Of The Hartford Insurance Company!

Claims Adjustor Faye Brooks is in my opinion a complete and total snake in the grass.

Do not work with her as your Claims Adjustor if you are assigned to her by The Hartford Insurance Company, as this b***h will, under the pretext of being a “nice person,” proceed to dig and dig into irrelevant issues in order to not only deny any and all legitimate claims that you may have, but also to do her utmost best to get your entire insurance policy coverage canceled, or non-renewed, AFTER you have paid your insurance premiums of course.

She is literally the Devil Incarnate, and if you see her name on your insurance policies, run in the opposite direction and DEMAND a different Insurance Claims Adjustor immediately.

If she has already screwed you over, please report her to the New York Department of Financial Services at https://www.dfs.ny.gov/ or to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Derry Maglieri of The Hartford insurance company is someone who takes advantage of those who are dependent on their worker’s compensation benefits. More specifically, Derry stopped my weekly benefits by basically fraudulently taking my doctors orders of no work and changing the translation to me being able to work.

All for The Hartford’s benefit. Once confronted Derry reactivated my weekly benefits but only for the amount of her choosing. I did not receive my full missed benefits. So in other words Derry and The Hartford got what they wanted. Either stopping benefits or paying less then the approved amount is the name of their game.

I cannot speak about everybody in that industry, but if you have a claim, and Derry ends up being your claim adjuster, I would ask for another adjuster immediately. Save yourself the headache. Derry is not there to help you!!!

She was a reckless driver, and eventhogh she hit me I treated her nice, they turn around and screw me. The law in Louisian is within 30 days and you dispute a traffic accident you go to court, when i requested to go to court they never responded back, over a year later Im still treating, they use my insurance to pay her when they should not have. State farm broke contract, and mission statement, did not even allow me to use my own medical, which is a very scandalous act. They raised my insurance rates, and disrespected the veteran very bad.

AARP somehow signed me up for car insurance when I only requested an insurance quote. I didn't notice it until a year and a half later that they were charging my credit card for the two cars I requested a quote on.

AARP doesn't want to refund me any monies. The double car insurance cost my family over $1,500 which I can't afford to waste. They refuse to look back at their records. They told me I had to prove to them that I had cancelled the policy.

There is no paper trail for me to send them because it was an on-line quote. Their records reflect I called them. I never called and spoke to anyone. There will be no "signed" acceptance with my signature on it, because I never accepted the quote.

I changed jobs soon after, and AARP sent email notices to my old job. I never got any of them. They also re-signed me for another year without my knowledge or consent.

I also received mail from AARP but I get so much junk mail from them that I automatically throw away anything addressed to me from them.

If this has happened to someone else and there are possibly lots of us out there, then I would like to be part of a large scale fraud complaint filed against this company so that I can get a portion of my money back

Losing $1,500 is terrible but it's not enough to sue them for because it will end up costing more in attorney fees and costs. My only hope at this time is that they did it to enough people that we will turn around and pursue a class action lawsuit against them.

Recently, my auto insurance was about to expire. While I planned to renew with my current provider, State Farm, I decided to run some quotes. Being an AARP member. I have been constantly barraged with mailings from The Hartford that they could save me money and that I should run a quote. I had already tried Geico and found them close (less than $20) to State Farm.

Next, I called The Hartford. I read off the coverage from my current State Farm policy to rep, for which I am paying $406 annually. I did not tell her how much I'm paying to State Farm and waited to here what kind of discount The Hartford might offer. expecting that my AARP membership would possibly allow me to save some money. However, she came back with a quote that was shocking. I could not believe what I had heard, so I asked to try it again.

But she came up with the same figure, $1,056, for the Hartford! I also tried to run the quote online myself, just to confirm, and sure enough, the same rate was calculated.

Of course, I wasn't going to switch insurance. However, I began to think that maybe I'm not the only one being overcharged, that The Hartford could have a million or more AARP members getting their auto insurance from them, that the rip-off could run into the $100s of millions, and that AARP was knowingly or unknowingly participating in a scam with The Hartford.

I lodged a complaint online with AARP CEO Jo Ann Jenkins and received an email inquiring further. I replied with copies of the two quotes attached. The rep then said I would be receiving a call within about a week.

In the meantime I filed complaints with the Ohio Department of Insurance, which wasn't very sympathetic, and the Federal Trade Commission. Not long after I received a call from The Hartford. It was insulting. All the rep did was try to explain away the difference with hollow justifications and finally in frustration I hung.

When the AARP rep called sometime after that, she was apologetic and asked me what I wanted. I told her I want her to check with the Hartford as to why they were going to charge me so much more than their competitors. In the meantime, I found the number to the executive office of AARP and talked to a receptionist for the CEO (she said was substituting for the regular person). The phone call did not go well but a week later, the lady who was going to follow-up with The Hartford called. This time she was not apologetic but only made excuses for The Hartford, much like The Hartford rep who had called. I pressed her on the issue but she could not give me a valid reason why The Hartford was charging so much and I hung up on her when she wouldn't admit that there might be a problem.

So, I called the executive offices again and this time found a woman who was more open to my complaint and agreed that this the rate was inappropriate and that it potentially tarnished the reputation of AARP. The call ended with a promise that someone from AARP would get back to me. And that's where it sits now.

I should add that my own insurance company told me that they had heard similar complaints about The Hartford, as did the second lady in AARP's executive offices. The Hartford's shenanigans need to be investigated and I believe it is possible that there is collusion from AARP, if not from the organization than one or more of its management executives. Mitch Stevens, AARP's senior vice-president for financial services, has most recently worked on the contract with The Hartford.
