The ExecRanks Reviews

  • Feb 5, 2018

I just want to add my agreement with all of the other complaints about ExecRanks. I gave it four months and received not one follow up. This firm represents itself as a professional executive/board placement firm but merely steals your money. To the extent if does anything, it is to send spam t companies with 100's or 1000's of nanes. Avoid.

I like others who have reported here have had a situation in which Exec Ranks ropes executives in to what appears to be their network of board opportunities which never come to fruition. I took place in a pitch about the business and agreed to try the service for $399 - at no time was the monthly fee disclosed and only did I discover they had failed to mention the monthly fee of $199 is when it appeared on my credit card statement. I never signed an agreement to have these funds drafted and gave NO authorization to draft these funds.

Additionally, one of the methods they use is that you have to schedule your own time to "onboard" in which calendars with their staff are always booked and never available at times that would work for busy executives that may use the service. The platform is self service in nature and for $199/month is an atrocious fee for zero customer service.

I rescheduled calls several times and in fact finally reached out when I had one schedule again and cancelled. I got the following email in response:

Hello Stacey,

I apologize, but it appears that you accidentally received a message from our Managing Director Chris Beaver this morning that instructed you to schedule a call with our sales team. This message was sent in error as you are obviously already a member of the ExecRanks site. I see that you scheduled a call with me so I’ve gone ahead and canceled the call and instructed our member services team to reach out to you and discuss any questions you may have.

Thank you, and again — apologies for the inconvenience.

Best, Daniel

Where Leading Executives Connect With Opportunity

Daniel Tabussi | Sales Director I responed that Ihave been having a lot of trouble schedling a calla and that I was a member to be refrred back to the self managed calendar system that has no availability. it is unfathomable in this day and age that a customer service organiazation for busy executives no less feels it is acceptable to garner $199 per month for no hands on service whatsoever. Ths orgnaization takes advantage of trustworthy smart executives with thier lies of grandeur.

After 18 months and 1 lead, whci led to a company who were happy to be helped, I signed a contract. the company proved to be completely dishonest, paid no invoices and wrecked another client relationship to whom they were introduced losing me over $90k in lost revenue in 6 months.

So far, in addition to the subscriptions (its a scam, completely), total cost over about 18 months is of the order of $100k

requests for reimbursement of some of the subscriptions have remained unanswered.

the matter will be put in the hands of the CC company

I can only recommend - dont go near this outfit - Execrank

This a " big hat, no cattle" operation. $195/mo. to access listings and a projected 6-9 mo search process makes it expensive to "see if it works". There is asymmetric risk sharing as it stands. I'd be happy to pay them based on production, like most sales jobs. It could be like Craigslist, info comes in for free and buyers look for free. ExecRanks sells the notion that they add value and their staff does work for the subscribers, but I didn't experience any added value, frankly and cancelled. They are still trying to bill my credit card, although they said the account was closed and I would not be billed.

This is a typical scam of the web, pay $1 today to try it and unless you cancel, we'll bill you next month, but in this case, I have to call them again (no reply billing statement) and wait on the phone. I replaced my cRedit card with a new numbered one, exactly for this reason. Companies like this are a pain in the a__ __, and I won't do business with them, even though they tell me I can rejoin if one of the opportunities I applied for comes through. What a joke, are these jr high school people making a pitch?

They have plenty of applicants and will offer any li e positions to them before showing to me. So, if the value proposition shared risk more equitably, and they got paid when I get an assignment or board position, that would fly, otherwise their value-added claim seems rather specious. They need more vc capital to burn to prove their worth. They are trying to do it on the cheap, no vcs, and the competition and the disgruntled will kill them.
