Terrible company to work for and be customers for.

Worked for the company as a marketer. Made multiple sales and was never paid my commission checks. Then became a laborer for him and half the job he sent me to were disasters. Shortage of material, improper material etc. My first job as a laborer was preparing for a fence installation by digging a hole. The equipment we provided was not powerful enough and the holes didn't get finished. The homeowner told me that the fence was supposed to be up in October 2015. This was November when I was sent over there. Wayne does not abide by his contracts, steals money and does not pay employees. If you ever see him, detain him and contact police immediately.

We hired Wayne Hermansen of Sterling Construction because the school town of Munster Eads elementary school sent an email to all parents of Eads students promoting Wayne Hermansen of Sterling Construction going on to say how they agreed to give back 10% of any home projects completed in Munster back to the schools and in addition to that give a 10% discount to Munster families if you told them you support Munster schools. So, we contacted Wayne Hermansen of Sterling Construction and hired the company we thought was referred through a reputable source in early March 2016 to remove some landscaping and replace it with concrete flatwork. We were given a great price for the work which included the 10% Munster school discount, a Veteran discount and a supposedly 10% going back to the school. Boy, were we sold! The perfect slick talker. The total price we were given was $3780 with a 50% deposit.

So on March 10th we handed Wayne Hermansen a check for $1890. The check was cashed on March 14th. We were given an estimated install date of mid-April depending on the weather, as it was the rainy season. We contacted Wayne Hermansen of Sterling construction on numerous occasions to get status on the work we contracted to have done just to continuously get pushed off due to weather, the excuse of being backed up where they couldn't start on a 3 day job and have unannounced men stop by our home on 2 occasions to give us the impression they would start the work soon, which in our opinion was to appease us so we would stop contacting him. However, we continued to be patient. On Sept 9th, we once again called Wayne Hermansen and his voicemail box was full. His office phone calls were now being transferred to his cell phone. Our patience running thin, we decided to go to the office of Sterling Construction at 9219 Indianapolis Blvd Ste C Highland, IN 46322 to speak with Wayne Hermansen in person. Once we arrived the office was closed and locked with no sign of his business name anywhere. We then spoke to someone in one of the other offices in the business complex and the person tells us that people have been looking for Wayne Hermansen and that the police had come looking for him at his office just a few days earlier. Unpaid employees left the company and the business was recently closed. The excuse now is that he got sick. Sick is no excuse not to communicate and refund the pending contracts. We contact the towns building department to find out that Wayne Hermansen of Sterling Construction has recently had their license revoked in our town. He can not even work in our town. We believe that we have been victims of fraud in connection with Wayne Hermansen of Sterling Construction and Home Remodeling, LLC. We have made additional attempts to contact Wayne with Sterling Construction and he doesn't answer his phone and he makes his voicemail full so you can't leave a message. If you think you have been a victim of fraud with Sterling Construction please contact the proper authorities, make a police report, contact attorney general, prosecutors office and better business bureau so we can come together to remove this man and company from our communities.

On Sept. 19th,2015 I had contracted with Sterling Construction and Home Remodeling LLC to install an asphalt driveway in my rental home in Cedar Lake Indiana. Time was the essence of the contract as I had a tenant moving in on the 3rd of October, the date that the contracted job was to be completed by. a $50.00 per day penalty was to be assessed if not completed by the 3rd. At that time I had entered into a separate contract for a new driveway in my personal home. Oct. 3rd had come and gone and no work had been started on the Cedar Lake driveway. I called Wayne Hermansen, the owner of Sterling Construction. He acted oblivious to the deal and my time constraints. He stated he would get back to

me. Silence from Sterling Construction continued for several more days although I had made several attemps to have this resolved. At this point I only wanted a refund on both jobs as Sterling was in breach of the contract. On or about Oct. 7th I received a call from the Cedar Lake building department stating they had 2 driveway permits for the same address in Cedar Lake, one from Sterling Construction, whom it turns out is not licensed to conduct work in Cedar Lake, and another from a company called Economy Paving. I had already fired Sterling Construction but had not hired a replacement contractor at that time. I asked Cedar Lake for a copy of Economy Paving's permit application and they complied. Wayne

Hermansen from Sterling Construction had contracted Economy paving without my knowledge for only half the job I had contracted with Sterling Construction. I was never told by Sterling's sales rep that Sterling was not licensed to conduct work in Cedar Lake Indiana. Nor was I told that Sterling Construction had planned to subcontract the job. Sterling Construction just wasn't licensed to do the work. The contract I signed With Sterling Construction included the removal of the existing driveway, install gravel then asphalt. The contract Wayne Hermansen from Sterling to Economy Paving stated to lay asphalt over the existing driveway. This was not my agreement. It would never had been discovered by me that the

original driveway was NOT removed before laying new asphalt as the home was vacant. It was only after the Cedar Lake permit department had called me that I learned of Sterlings seperate contract with Economy Paving. This conduct borderlines fraud by Sterling Construction on myself. I then demanded a full refund from Wayne Hermansen. He told me to come to his office for the refund. When I arrived I was told he spoke with his attorney and was advised not to efund any of my money. I immediately received a letter from his attorney stating Sterlings legal right to retain the profits from both jobs. I called his attorney and told him that I was in possession of Sterlings contract with Economy Paving proving

unethical buisiness practices. The conversation abruptly ended with Sterling's attorney hanging up on me. The second contracted driveway on my personal home was again subcontracted leaving out the replacement of the entire sidewalk. I contacted the BBB as well as filed suit. Do not contract with Sterling Construction and Home Remodeling LLC owned by Wayne Hermansen. He is far from ethical and had made me sue him due to his outragious conduct.
