My wife, kids and I had visited Southwood Townhomes and liked the property enough that we left a $100 deposit for them to hold a property for us. The management company took several weeks to reply to us regarding the status of our application before finally telling us that we were accepted. In the three-plus weeks it took them to get back to us, we got and accepted another home but Southwood Townhomes refused to return our deposit for another couple of weeks, refusing to reply to e-mails and refusing all communication efforts.
Finally, after legal threats, they finally returned our $100 and then alerted us that we had won a contest that we were entered into as the result of taking our tour and were going to receive a $100 gift card. Three weeks later, we asked about the gift card and were told they'd look into it and now three additional weeks later, nothing from this company. Not sure what it is about this company but they don't refund deposits that they say they'll refund and they offer gift cards that never appear.
