Small Business Growth Alliance Reviews

  • Apr 14, 2019

On August 13th, 2018 I received a call from Issac. He said he was doing an audit to our credit card merchant services. I was new in June and assumed this was prearranged by my predicessor. After he asked for my statement (Red flag) and I provided he claimed that my problem was a was listed as a retailer and should be changed to wholesaler. He said that will save me lots of money.

I said great can you send me an email to provide me with these details in writing. He did. the breakdown showed me that the rates were lower and the monthly statement fee was half of what was paying. Looked good and i asked if I could review with my manager and let him know. I did and gave him the go ahead.

Next thing i know i am being asked to get signing authorization for the owner. I did. then he said because of the patriot act i must provide him with my personal information. I said i did not want to do that and he insisted. In a matter of minutes he sent me the docusign contract. He stayed on the line and kept pressuring me to keep signing. I signed a lease for a Clover Mini for $189.00 month/ 48 months. He eventually sent me the signed contracts with a list of fees and other costs that i would incure.

less than a month later, I was still under the impression i was going to save money and asked him if he could also change us over to SBGA for the POS websites. Long story short, he convinced me that i needed two more Minis at a much reduced cost. $39.99 for 48 months i said no, and even called them to stop delivery. They arrived and are still in the box. No one will return my calls.

i called yesterday to let them know i did not use or open the Clover and wanted to return the device. I was sent a letter saying that it will cost the business $1853.37 for each contract buy out. its $495 for the termination fee for the Merchant Services each.

Do not ever take a call from SBGA. If you have answers to my problem, i would love to hear them.

Received a call today from a Hailey who gave her callback # 1-888-642-1154 that was beyond deceptive! She claimed that she was calling my business from "Merchant Services," in regard to the account we already have - stating that we have Compliancy Issues that are very important to address with her immediately. She also said that we are being overcharged due to "inaccuraccies" and need to do an annual Merchant Services Rate Review so she could fix this. Our business just met with our Merchant Services Provider - we took care of our annual PCI Compliance and had an account analysis performed, so obviously she is making up LIES to phish for Info! Anytime a company like this calls from a fake local #, the Caller ID showed 856-861-3203 (we are located in the 856 area code) - HANG UP! The company is not a true scam, but they are going about trying to do business in a very unethical way - BEWARE!

Your dumb

Of corse your company who profits from overcharges is going to tell you eveything is fine they don't want you to fix the issues. I actually deal with this company for my annual review & they are not a scam and actually save me $5,000 annually. They don't ask for private infor so our wrong she wasn't fishing for info she was doing her job and making sure your set up correctly. IDIOT.

Small Business Growth Alliance calls businesses and tells them their credit card service is going to be cut off and they are going to be fined because they do not have EMV chip credit card terminal. State your current processor doesn't even know this is happening and it is critical you react. The word it such that the business is extremely upset and thinks something is desparately wrong and they are in trouble somehow. Competition is great but not in a negative/lying manner.

This person identified herself as Small Business Growth Alliance when she called 2 of my merchant clients. She told one of them that her machine was improperly programmed and that PIN debit was supposed to be free which is an outright lie. She then said that her machine was not PCI Compliant...another outright lie. She also called another merchant client of mine 2 days later and said that her machine was sending out an error code, which is another outright lie as she sells for a processor that I do not use. She claims she wasa direct salesperson with TSYS, and I guess they either sponsor or condone those lies and behaviors!!

Merchants beware, they are lying to you!!!

Our small business was approached and promised a "Seamless" transition to switch to the latest and greatest "Clover" system. We were told that our inventory of more than 7,000 products could simply be uploaded from an excel spreadsheet. This all occurred back in July 0f 2014.

Everything we were told and promised did not materialize. For more than a year we attempted to get this system up and running. hundreds of hours spent trying to add our products. Ultimately we were told they would all have to be scanned individually!

Additionally, we NEVER utilized the credit card processing during this entire time. Yet we were billed every monthe for 15 months. After finally reaching a level of frustration we tried in August of 2015 to cancel the contract. , Regional Manager, continued to make promises to repair the relationship, yet none were ever met to remedy the Clover System or its functionality.

We simply asked to cancel the contract and have our money returned. informed us that we would receive a refund, but that we would have to pay $495 in order to cancel the contract. We assumed this fee would be returned as well. Our refund totaled $1,761. Yet we paid $3,690 including the $495. So a loss of more than 40%.

When I asked for the additional money response was:

The agreement was to eliminate the 48 non-cancellable lease agreement, not to issue any other refunds for processing fees.

The check you have received is for the lease payments and eliminating the rest of the 48 month term.

SBGA appears to seek and underhandedly take advantage of small business owners.
