If you don't want your good credit to be put at risk AVOID Simon Med! I just got a notice from a collection agency for a bill I had never received. I called Simon Med and dicovered they had sent 4 bills to a Phoenix address I left over15 years ago!! As papers asking for an address as well as other information have to be filled in each visit there was NO excuse for this. And as the imaging took place in Prescott where I now live, common sense alone should have made it obvious my address was no longer 90 miles away. There is no way I will ever go back to Simon Med and their utterly incompetant billing department. If you value your credit and good name AVOID!!!
We have been referred to this disgusting company numerous times for radiological exams. Each time we have had a worse and worse experience with rude staff, lost test results and failure to follow up to anything. The most previous visit was for a fractured toe which resulted in a quick foot x-ray. When we were finished (it was late in the day) the office personnel ALL refused to accept our cash payment for the x-ray which cost about $135.00 saying their books were already closed and to forget about it.
A few days later we heard from the referring physician of the results and there was no other contact from the company for fees or reading costs. Nothing.
Last week we were once again referred to this same company but this time for a gastrointestinal area MRI. Before agreeing to use their service we checked repeatedly with the office and were told the complete, all told cost was $335.05. We confirmed that amount in total for the service when we arrived for the test. It was accepted but then the office person informed us we had a $135 unpaid balance. She printed the invoice and it showed the unpaid amount but did not list anything in 30,60,90 or over categories as being owed. When we explained the very strange occurence of the previous visit , this person, who was not with them then, shrugged her shoulders.
We paid the $335.05, had the quick NO CONTAST MRI and left with an statement showing PAID IN FULL.
Now today we receive a text message with a link to a website where this company is not attempting to claim that the $335.05 was only a PAYMENT on the total cost over $1500.00.
We spoke with a very rude and abrupt female on the phone about this amount and she immediately attempted to explain that the cost was never $335.05 but always was going to be that $1500 because of a litany of listed extras that were just absurd. The $135 foot x-ray is not included in the account's balance so they are obviously charging it off to taxes at whatever level they want to.
They agreed to $335.05 as the total cost of the MRI and all expenses related to it. They will NOT receive another dime, nor will they ever receive additional business from us.
SMI Imaging LLC AZ DBA as Simon Med is an unethical, rude and obnoxious enterprise NOBODY should use. We plan to urge the Doctor to STOP referring anyone to this sheister orgnization. Beware of doing business with these people.
