So again, I missed this email somehow and now am out $14.95 and the time it will take to end my relationship. I'm usually pretty good about looking for auto-subscription and auto-email buttons when buying things, but somehow missed this. My guess from my experience and so many others taken in by this is that it's pretty well hidden.

The deceptive manner in which this was done irks me. This is a really stupid business practice and Signals has lost my business forever.

They got me too

I placed an order a few weeks ago that I am still waiting for. I, too, got a "welcome to Signals VIP" email. I only entered my email address to see what it was about. I never entered a password and threw their message in the trash. Today, my PayPal account was charged $14.95. I had a hard time finding out what the charge was for. I called Signals and they cancelled the membership that I never signed up for. They are very vague and deceptive in their offer. I hope I get my stuff.

Thank you for including phone number

Thank you for including the Signals VIP phone number.

Was looking at my account online and saw an unexpected charge for $14.95 from Signals VIP. Didn't know what it was, but I called the phone number you gave and cancelled future charges.

What a scam! I must have missed that email telling me that I signed up for it unknowingly, too.

They just sent me an email saying I will no longer be charged $14.95 per month.

Thanks again.

signals scam

I remember no such email

I am very cautious of such underhanded tactics.

I ordered items from their website. But do not remember signing up for any memberships.

I have no tolerance for companies that apply such a slimy scam. I thought this was a quality company.

I was wrong.

Ditto...I'm hoppin' mad

They keep this scam up and they should be out of business soon. I will never do business with them again.

Scam

I made one purchase from Signals and now I see I have two months of charges on my credit card for $14.95 each. No notice that I would be charged. It's the Christmas season so there are a lot of charges being made. The first one slipped by, but now, seeing the second one! These charges are more than the original order. The catalog is going in the garbage the minute I receive it.

Scam

Never authorized $14.95 monthly for VIP Insider. Contested with my credit card company, cancelled my credit card. This company is a complete ripoff and not reputable. DO NOT purchase from this company!

Signals asked me during a purchase ,"Would you like to receive free shipping on your order today?"

Of course I said YES. From that moment on I was charged $14.95 each month as a member of the Signals VIP member.

It took me three billing cyclesbefore I noticed the charge and a contentious telephone conversation before I was withdrawn from the program.

It cost me $44.85 and is a complete scam.

total scam -- beware!

They signed me up for some "subscription" thing without my consent -- charged me $14.95 a month for nothing. It took me a couple months to catch it. I just disputed the charges with my credit card company.

Unauthorized charge

I just received notification from Paypal that I was charged $14.95 by Signals VIP Insider. I did not authorize this payment. I did order several t-shirts a month ago from this company and it was paid in full. I am currently trying to contact PayPal to stop the payment and have e-mailed this company that they have committed an unauthorized charge.

What a scam

I too, like all of the other people, made a purchase at Christmas and was put into this vip insider program without my knowledge. I also did not know what it was or why I was being charged $14.95 a month. It took 3 months before I realized the charge. I got my credit card company involved, and had them block this company. I then Cancelled this program and asked what I was paying the $14.95 for. I was told that there was a 10% discount on merchandise purchased. In order to receive my investment in this program I would have to spend $1800.00 a year with signals to get the $180.00 investment for the year in this program. WHAT A RIPOFF. Who in their right mind would sign up for this??? What a scam. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau, and I will be placing reviews wherever I can find a place to post them. Signal will not get my business again. I shopped there every Christmas, and probably spend at least $100.00 each time. So I guess in the long run they lost, since I am not longer in the program and they no longer have my business.

Not scammy, but definitely somewhat shifty/deceptive

I've been on the receiving end of several of these programs over the years, and I have to say that while I used to believe as many of you do that they are simply scams, I no longer feel this way. But I DO agree that they don't come right out and tell you exactly what you are signing up for in plain, open, straight-forward language, and thus people usually unwittingly join without realizing they are doing so and then feel duped.

Just an FYI: you can submit purchases from MANY other stores to get either 5% (for most places, both online and in-store) or 10% (for family brands) cash back on the things you buy. I have been a member of this program for about a year and a half, and I got back the maximum $1000 allowed per member year in 2018 just for normal purchases at stores like Walmart, Walgreens, and Target. Totally worth the $180 for me, I've been very happy.

Addendum to "Not scammy, but definitely ... deceptive" reply

Even when you do know what you are doing, the terms of these programs can still be unclear because the pertinent details aren't stated concisely or prominently; you often end up having to hunt them down in lengthy terms and conditions pages. I think adding a 'Things You Must Know' section would be infinitely more helpful than any of the FAQ pages alone I've seen.

Decietful SCAM

wish i could give negative stars!!! I purchased a T-shirt and was prompted for give my email for free shipping. Once you enter your email, they consider that 'acceptance " to enroll into their VIP program that charges 414.95 per month. I immediately called the company and could not cancel it until after I "received an email within 72 hours" then set up a password, enrolled myself and then they said they could cancel it. Of course by then I will be charged the first months fee. ! Ridiculous, now the FREE shipping would not be applied either if I canceled so now not only was I charged an astronomical shipping fee shipping but an extra $14.95. this practice should be shut down as fraudulent business practices. i will never again buy from this company. By waiting 72 hours to send your email, this company effectively skirts the Federal buyers remorse law in which you have 3 days to cancel an order! how shameful! I have written a cancellation letter and will send return receipt , I wonder what nonsense they will pull after that?

Signals VIP Insider

I placed an order from their catalog - all came in with no issue. Today - I checked my financials, I was hit with a charge for $14.95 to be part of their "VIP Insider" program. Never requested this, don't want it. Pure scam!!

I contacted them immediately and notified them that I want a full refund and that I did not authorize this. They stated that I will be getting a refund. We will see...

I made a purchase from USA Signals, a catalog order firm operating online, in August of 2016. After that purchase, I was entered into their VIP Insider program, which charged me $14.95 a month, ostensibly for premium access to purchases and for rebates. I did not authorize this. Due to financial problems following the death of my wife in September, I failed to notice this charge on my monthly credit card statement. I contacted the company today to cancel my membership, but I have been charged $14.95 per month for the last 13 months; a total of $194.95. I was promised a refund on the most recent charge, but I will still be out $179.40 for the previous charges.

Apparently I have been charged for belonging to something I never signed up for nor authorized after a purchase 3 months ago.

  • Jun 11, 2020

Buyer beware

Signals products still come with a hidden monthly charge. When you call to ask what is going on, the csr is very rude. I tried to stay courteous, then finally told her to cancel these charges immediately and to think about getting another job.

This company has scammed me for at least several hundred dollars, maybe more. Never signed up for this program, which as far as i can tell comes with no benefits, yet have been charged $14.95 for the past who-knows-how-many months before discovering what that odd charge on my credit card was. When i called the company the operator insisted that i signed up, which i did not. I don't know if this is a "fine print" scam or what, but i know beyond a shadow of a doubt that i did not sign up for this rip-off. She did take my name off, but did not refund any of the money this company scammed out of me. My advice is to steer clear.

  • Mar 25, 2020

I ordered a gift for our choir director for Christmas but now I noticed a $16.24 charge on my credit card monthly from this company for a total so far of $64.96. I never signed up for a VIP Insider service it, I never received a notification of a service with terms/conditions and I have not used the service at all. I have sent them an email requesting a refund and to stop the charges

All the complaints I have researched say the same thing—that they did not ask for this service.

As has been stated in another complaint The Company says that you had to unclick something. That is deceptive, you should NEVER default to a service that you did not ask for. It should always require you to click if you wan the service. I believe this is a violation of both Federal and State UDAAP laws.

Still Scamming at Signals

I just had the issue that everyone on this thread is talking about; I never sign up for these things and I was very surprised to see a 14.95 charge from Signals. It looks like the scam has been going on for awhile and this just happened today. I will never order from them again.

  • Apr 10, 2019

Total Scam!

I buy a lot of products on line and am pretty capable of avoiding such nonsense, but this one was so well hidden, it slipped by me. It was 4 months before I discovered the charges The rep. on the phone today said we would be reimbursed---we'll see. But, I will never buy another thing from this company. Catalog goes directly to the trash!!

  • Mar 8, 2019

A membership fee was deducted from my credit card. I received no notice from signals. I am sure you've heard this story before

  • Mar 8, 2019

SCAMMERS

Like the others listed here, I made one ()1) purchase from SIGNALS and without notice from SIGNALS, I was charged $14.95 for a B.S. membership. I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING SIGNALS AGAIN. If my bank account is attacked again by you SCAMMERS, I will be in touch with the BBB. I am SO PISSED.

  • Mar 5, 2019

Criminals!

I too had this happen. I'm working with PayPal to see if they can reverse some of the charges. It had flown under the radar, because I never use PayPal and never check my charges. They got me for close to $500! Despicable criminals. :(

  • Jan 25, 2019

Deceitful practices

This company has made it very easy to become enrolled in their VIP program WITHOUT REALIZING IT, which results in a $14.95 automatic charge monthly. It reminds me to keep a better watch on my monthly credit card statement. I have been paying this charge for months, unwittingly.

  • Dec 10, 2018

Worse than the above reviews, They send broken merchandise.

Who calls catalog phone numbers instead of using the web site? Answer: The elderly. My 95 years old mother has been scammed by Signal. She was bumped to the VIP. If you don't take the VIP program on the phone which as reviews say above is $14.95 per month they send you intentionally damaged merchandise. They sent my mother an umbrella which had been razor slashed in multiple places. It looked intentional. When she call them to return the umbrella she was bumped into their VIP program to avoid a $7.95 return charge. She didn't even realize it happened. Months later, she forgot her prior experience and ordered coffee mugs from them at least telling them she did not want the VIP club. The mugs arrived broken. Now, when I return the package they will, just guessing here, call her to see if she would like to avoid the return postage fee and bump her to the the VIP club. Many elderly, who do not have someone watching their back, will pay the monthly club fee for months and be unaware. Who is NOT going to read this review on-line? The elderly.

  • Dec 10, 2018

Does not work as described

  • Dec 3, 2018

This i a catlog company hawking gifts and clothes. They signed me up for a VIP program that costs $14.95/mo.

You're supposed to get free shipping and 5% back on what you spend. Their offerings are limited (& do not include steaming video like Amazon). You'd have to buy over $600-800/month to make it worthwhile.

This is a scam to rake in money for Signals. I never sign up for these kinds of things. Never.

I called for a refund. Now to see if I actually get one for all these months.

I'm never, never ordering from them again. They are crooks.
