I was injured in a car accident on May 8 2015. I was stopping at a stop sign when a car came flying up behind me and ran the stop and rammed into my Son and I. The driver got out of the car apologized for running the stop sign my Son who wasn't as shakened as I took pictures and exchanged information. We decided to go home and see if we needed to get medical attention. Went to urgent care the my regular doctor he told me to see a chiropractor. Since I don't have insurance I contacted a lawyer( Shook and Stone) the lawyer assigned to my case whom I didn't even meet until almost a year after I retained there services. I spoke to the first of the 3 assistant that would be passing me around for the next
14 months. He referred me to a chiropractor explained how the process of personal injury cases work I would get treatment and pending his recomandations we would go from there. Chiropractor looked at X Rays and scheduled a MRI Pending lawyer approval which it was. Chiropractor while still treating me told me I had a torn lumbar that will not heal and told me he was referring me to a surgical center pending lawyer approval which it was. Surgical center told me they wanted to do a diagnostic to see if surgery would help the pain pending lawyer approval which it was. I had to reschedule diagnostic because at that time I could get extra time off work so we scheduled it for 2 weeks later. A day before I go in
for diagnostic I receive a voicemail from some guy name Tony Lopez who is someone who works for Shook and Stone and in this message he asking me where I get off making all these Doctor appointments for MRI's and surgical centers without his consent and he told me I cancelled your diagnostic if I want it done I can pay it out of my pocket. The surgical center called me as well telling me that a representative for Shook and Stone decided not to give approval. The very next day I get another messages apologizing saying they made a mistake they called surgical center with the approval and I need to call and schedule the diagnostic after all. Went threw with diagnostic told them temporary block
really did wonders. Went to my follow up and the surgical center said we want to do another diagnostic to make sure pains not coming from any other areas pending lawyer approval which Shook and Stone approved. Went to follow up visit surgical Center wants to set up surgery pending lawyer approval and that they would contact me. 2 weeks later I receive a call from Tony Lopez again and he says I cancelled your surgery and if I want to continue anymore treatment I have to pay for it myself as of that date on. I have no insurance and no extra money being a single mom so I said I guess I'm done with treatment.made an appointment to talk with my lawyer or Dom the paralegal I thought was In charge with my
case, instead they told me now Tony Lopez is handling my case Dom has moved to different department. So after all my treatment I had to go over the whole entire case and explain from the beginning what has been going on he knew nothing of my case after six months of having Shook and Stone as my attorney . After I finished getting Mr. Lopez up to speed on my case I asked him why they cancelled the surgery they made me go to all these doctors and now that they know what can be done to relieve my pain they didn't approve it and he said and I quote" it's not our job to fix you our job is only to prove you were injured" then mr Lopez goes on to say I've looked at your MRI and I have the same
injury as you and has had it for years and it doesn't bother him and that maybe if I exercised I would be in so much pain. I got up and said well I guess we are done here call me when I need to sign papers to finish this now that my treatment is done. During this time we received a phone call from the man who hit me insurance company saying the mans wife who was not in the car with her husband when he ran into me had retained a lawyer do to the accident that was my fault. I told her insurance adjuster that he client ran into my car at a stop sign and that his wife wasn't even involved. Then I get a letter from Adam Kutner saying I was at fault. Of course my insurance company took care of it
and they admitted being 100% at fault. A couple of months later his insurance company say there not paying nothing because I had a prior accident 2 years ago which I did not. The wife of the man who ran into me Cecilia Madrigal who works for Chiropractic Healing center 7250 Peak Drive suite 106 Las Vegas,Nevada as a receptionist and looked into accident reports in her employersComputer.The office Manager Marlene Montes and The doctors that she works for let her have access to the data base that holds medical records and accident reports and she looked through anything barring my name and my minor sons name. My Son was in another accident around 2 years prior to the accident on May 8th my son
was only 15 when he was in this accident so I was named as his only guardian. They were legally not aloud to talk to him until I gave my permission because he was a juvenile. that'is why my name was asosciated with the accident. I told my lawyer this and gave the name of the attorney that handled the accident claim and told him that police were called sto the scene and there will be an accident report stated names of people involved. I was told by shook and stone that the man who hit me Antonio Madrigal 's wife said we were friends and that's how she knows I was in an accident and she could prove it. She told her adjuster that we were friends that's how she knew about this accident to conceal the fact she
illegally searched threw my personal records. Did Shook and Stone look into this No they would have exposed this fact.So instead of doing his job I'm asked in to talk to Leonard Stone months later and he tells me that I'm upside down I owe 38,000 in medical bills because insurance adjuster believes Cecilia Madrigal whom I've never meet that I was in an accident 2 years ago that caused the injury to my back in which I was now getting treated because of a prior friendship. I explained to my lawyer that I have never meet Cecelia before in my life,and as I told the 2 paralegals and his law partner Shook already that I was in an accident 10 years before in which my neck was injured .I had an MRI's gave him
the lawyers name who handled case and that there is no other accidents! did they look into this? No!no contact was made to any of the lawyers that handled that case. Now my lawyer tells me after over a year that Antonio Madrigal the man who hit me admit s 100% fault but his insurance adjuster will only settle giving us 1,850.00 total because of the prior accident in which no one even bothered to check and see I wasn't in an accident. Leonard Stone told me he would not take it to court that I would lose without looking into anything. He told me he didn't believe that this accident caused the damage to the car I was driving and that he didn't believe this accident caused my injuries and that I should take the
1,850.00 the insurance company offered and that the 38,000.00 in doctor bills that I owed he truly believes that they probably wouldn't go after me seems they agreed to treat me on a lien pending a insurance claim. I was upset but needed the 1,850.00 because after all this I was so behind in my bills that I risked losing the house I rent.so I signed the paperwork. a week later I called shook and stone to inquire about the settlement money and yet another person was put in charge of my case and she tells me She has no information on my case and does not know what's going on no one has givin her any information and she was going to hold any money I might get after she's filled in on what's happening. So

Shook and Stone will be holding any money that might have been recovered until God knows when. So after being injured in an accident that was not at all my fault I'm also in financial dept to the tune of 38,000 because I picked Shook and Stone as my lawyers. So if you don't do there job for them they will pass you around from paralegal to paralegal until you just give up .I think the way they conduct themselves as lawyers is criminal .
