Sew Chill Reviews

  • May 1, 2018

Sew Chill is an online children's clothing retailer. They have both a website and a Facebook page. As part of their "community" they encourage customers to be a member of their BST (Buy, Sell and Trade) group on Facebook. The BST group on Facebook allows customers to interact directly with the owner: April Chilicoat, and purchase items from her and other indivduals who are re-selling items. I was encouraged to join the BST group by various posts on the Sew Chill Facebook page. Once permitted entry into the BST group, I purchaased various items and one item from Sew Chill itself. I engaged in various contests on the BST page and interacted with the owner, April, on at least one occasion where she asked how I learned about Sew Chill.

On or about April 27, 2018, I was summarily blocked from the group. I attempted to contact the administrators frasking for an explaination.

Many days passed and it was not until May 2, 2018 that I recieved an extremely rude response. Specifically, I was told that I had broken a "rule" which was not known to me. That I was removed for "timewasting." I was shocked, I had no idea what this meant. I subsequently, asked very politely for them to provide me evidence of this alleged "timewasting." The result was the picture I attach hereto in which I asked on ONE (1) occasion whether Sew Chill was going to be offered in a particular print known as "mustaches." This request was not made in a private message or e-mail, but in response to a BST post by April advertising another print that would be available in dresses for girls. I also did not specifically tag April. April responded to my post stating that I should e-mail her. I did not e-mail April because I nderstood the print would not be available on the site and she wanted me to order a custom or private item (which are more costly). This occurred some time ago, although I do not have the exact date given that I am blocked from the group. THis was the apparent example of "time wasting" that they claimed merited removing me from a group and treating me with such disdain. I was not notified of any concern, I was ignored for some time before they responded and I was mistreated at ever step.

I was then chastized like a child in the message and told I need to "follow the rules." I responded by explaining that there is no rule that I e-mail April simply because she asked and no rule that I am not permitted to ask questions. The administrator seemed to indicate there were other occasions and none were provided in her exchange with me, because none existed. Sew Chill was extremely rude and completely out-of-line. I have never been treated in this way by any online retailer or in-person retailer for simply asking a quesiton. It was an extremely benign question that did not merit the rude unprofeesional response I recieved.

I am extremely upset and disappointed. I have already noted my disappointed in as many other avenues as possible, and will continue to do that until I recieve a well-deserved apology. This company cannot continue to do business and treat paying customers in such a rude and inappropriate fashion and especially when no facts exist for their behavior.
