Several weeks ago, I was contacted by this dealer about a complimentary oil and filter change, tire rotation and truck wash for the new truck I purchased from them. I agreed and made arrangements to also have my wiring checked for a short I seem to have. I wanted it all done at once because of the 70 miles I live from the dealership I choose as mine.
When I arrived at Sarasota Ford for my appointment I was told they were too busy to do the wiring but would have time for the oil filter, tire rotation and truck wash. I then made a second appointment for the truck on the following Tuesday. I gave them the keys and went inside, a few minutes later I was told it was on the rake being worked on. One hour and 20 min later I was given the keys and paperwork and told it was all done.
I was in a hurry and left the dealership and was headed home before I noticed the windows were dirty. I thought they had forgotten the car wash, no big deal.
When I got home I noticed the tires had not been rotated. I have a car lift in my shop
to do service work on my service trucks. No car wash, no rotation it was time to check
and see if they even did the oil and filter.
They had put a sticker in my window to have it changed again at 13190 miles. The problem is they never changed it to begin with. The filter was still dirty from 8000 miles I’d already put on it and the oil was black.
I drove 140 miles round trip, used 9 gallons of fuel, 4 hours of my work day and didn’t get my wiring problem looked at either.
$48000 for my new ford doesn't get me much. If you’re going to cheat someone why cheat a customer that has had fords for 40 years.
I’ve tried to reconcile this situation but I can’t get a return call from Sarasota ford.

Thank you so much for your review. Our vehicle is now in service at Sarasota Ford - they kept it overnight when they said I could wait for the oil change and a few minor other items. We purchased the vehicle from them - good price, great vehicle. But I suspect the good service stops there. My husband has worked on cars all his life and we will be checking our vehicle (if we ever get it back!). Plus, we had made an appointment, with a confirmation number, and they didn't seem to be able to find the information. Check-in was a very long process because all the data had to be input (again).
