Reptilinks.com Reviews

A few years ago I came across Reptilinks . It is a product used primarily to feed reptiles as an alternative to frozen rats, mice, etc. made of ground up “whole prey” meal made into a sausage. I wanted to try it with my snakes and ackies but never got around to ordering it, and whenever I went to a local store that carried it they were always sold out, or just out. Anyways opportunity arose when I bought my own pet supply store and was looking to add a reptile section to my store. I figured Reptilinks would be a good addition as you can’t get it everywhere. Wonder why?

I contacted them about setting up a wholesale account, they sent me information and I made my first purchase, waited until the next shipping period, and received my box. Beaten, with very little dry ice left. Partially thawed out and many were not vacuum sealed. I sent them an email saying that it would be too difficult to sell them before they went bad. They offered to send a label so I could send it back. I agreed that would be best. I was then emailed a set of instructions addressed to Paul. My name is sent twice on the email. To pack it back up with at least 20lbs of dry ice and covered as so the ice doesn’t directly touch the product. I headed over to the Ice & Oil company next town over and spent $31 with change for it. Got it to the store, took everything out of the freezer, packed it all up, taped all corners, and Fedex took it away. I then got an e-mail two days later saying “Unfortunately the product showed up without dry ice and was damaged.” No explanation about whether I was getting the refund, as it was packaged just as it was sent. When I emailed them in response, they stated that it wasn’t packaged correctly, said “Did you really think it was going to show up frozen?” I responded with saying that I followed THEIR instructions and that THEY should have been proper. I used the same methods and packaging equipment they did. They then clearly took offense and acknowledged the 4 faulty bags, but then accused me of “poking holes in the packing with a syringe, and possibly injecting the product with something.”

Why? What would I gain from that? More than likely the product would have been thrown away anyways. Would this be a company that would repackage and resell? Is this something they do?

I then stated that I just wanted my money back, and that wasn’t necessary. He replied with:

“You should have thought about that before you wasted our back breaking work, time, and money. You see, I'm a business owner who pays great attention to detail. There were no more than 4 faulty sealed bags in that box when it went out. That is the most we ever have had. Any damage that occurs after that is from particles of dry ice which slash the bags open. This unusually high volume of unsealed product caught my attention immediately which is why I decided to investigate. So you are denying it. I get that. I wouldn't admit it either if I were you.

All that aside, I kindly and willingly requested you to return the product frozen. You returned the product thawed, ruined and unusable for resale as per the agreement.
