Renovar Med Spa Reviews

Texas Dermatologist and Shawn are scam artists. They prey. This place is nothing less than a bait and switch Don't be fooled...Be smart and find an ethical establishment to have your aesthetics done. There have been several communications between myself and Texas Dermatology and Renova however we have been unable at this time to come to an agreement in regards to the failed laser treatment the clinic that was what not as described by Renovar representative Shawn Alvarez.

My appointment for the initial consultation was with Shawn Alvarez on October 27,2017. I was greeted by Shawn and she escorted down the hall to a very small enclosed consulting room. There we sat and I was asked by Ms. Alvarez what results was it that I wished to achieve. Mostly all of the issues described to Ms. Alvarez were pretty superficial and really should not have represented a challenge to any skin care professional. I then went on to describe a laser procedure that I had in another years before and that it was very deep laser peel and had literally resurfaced my entire face and that was the result I was seeking at your clinic. I even informed her of the actual equipment used in that procedure. Ms. Alavarez then broke into a spectacular song and dance about all the magic she could perform with other treatments. When she finished she offered me a package totaling more than $4,150. Which oddly enough are not mentioned in any of the notes that Ms. Alvarez has provided for our consultation. However, I still have all the materials with the procedures and price quotes Ms. Alvarez quoted and are well above what she has stated in her notes of $900 but $600 was the actual price we agreed upon for a 1 time deep laser peel. It seems Ms. Alvarez as per my materials seems to have misquoted the actual topics and events of the consultation. Why in the world Ms. Alvarez would have worked up $4,150 treatment plan is nothing more than obvious her attention was on sales not the patients desires or needs or words. She simply wasn't having it. I have had many procedures over the years with some aesthetic as well as some elected cosmetic surgery as well. I am no novice to this subject.

As Ms. Alvarez continued with her rather speedy and slightly scattered confusing sales pitch I interrupted her and stated that what I was seeking was exactly what I had stated at the beginning of the consultation. The exact laser treatment that I had done years earlier in another location. She seemed a bit put off knowing that this type of laser resurfacing would pretty much take all the other procedures off the table. She then stated that "The treatment was very intense and would literally remove everything from my face and leave me with a level skin texture". I stated to her that I understood and had the convenience of having the down time to do it at that time. We agreed on the 1 time deep laser peel that would only require 1 procedure.

On the morning of my procedure I arrived at the clinic under medication. Before having my procedure while medicated I was given papers to sign which stated false information in accordance to my request. It wasn't what we had agreed upon. just like her consultation notes, miss Alvarez changed my procedure description from 1 to 3 or 4 apparently in her quest to gain from several commissions rather than the one procedure we agreed upon. I cannot believe that she could be so desperate for commissions that she could possibly run the scam through while I was medicated.. The procedure didn't do anything...no results. A total theft by deception. it was a bait and switch. Shawn Alvarez agreed on 1 procedure and changed the notes of our visit and set me up with Tanya Garza for an alternate procedure so that I would return for additional procedures. Then after they finished the procedure they only charged me and stated "There was an additional $150 off that day and It was my Lucky day!" Really in what world does that happen that for one day and only one day it was a special. How many people walk through the door and ask for a deep laser peel on their face that takes three weeks to heal from on a moments notice to get the special. It's so obvious that the whole thing was part of a scam to get you back in the door. They must really believe that people are stupid not to see through them. If you do decide to go here just hand them your credit card because they're going to take your money one way or another.

After all of this the office manager Marissa Calderon has stated that I could return and they would offer a different procedures up to the cost of the $450 but refused to refund my money now that she admitted fault once I told her I no longer live in the area and have had the original procedure done at another location satisfactorily she refused to return any more correspondence regarding my refund. I have since gone to another med spa facility and got just what I requested in one treatment. I wish I would have gone there first.
