Regional Relocation & Warehousing, Inc. Reviews

  • Sep 11, 2017

My husband and I entered into a binding moving estimate on 7/28/17 via phone with Region Relocation. Estimated weight based on the household inventory provided was 8500lbs or 1215 cuff. Cost was $4497.00. We paid $1147.00 which was charged to our credit card. Pick up date was 9/4/17 between 10 and noon. On the morning of 9/4, my husband made several call to the company to again confirm pick up time and was informed that they did not work on Labor Day. After speaking with their dispatch, they stated that the truck would be there for pick up around 1:00pm. Shortly after 1, the driver called and stated he was still a couple hours out and would arrive by 4. He arrived with a crew of 2 other men at 6:30 driving a 26' box van. They determined that they would begin wrapping furniture and get ready for loading the next morning. My husband and I questioned the driver, showed him all of the contents that was to be moved and asked him if all of our items would fit in this box truck and he said that he had been in this business for 9 years and stated that everything should fit but would be tight. He also stated that the cost of packing materials would be $1200 but he could save us some money if we wrote a check payable to him in the amount of $650. The check was written and given to him.

We met the driver and crew at 8am on 9/5 and the driver stated that they would have everything loaded I 45 min. At 11:30am, it was determined that the truck was full and a 2nd truck would be needed. Driver stated that he could have another truck on site in 2 hours as he was made aware that due to closing on the house that day , we would have to vacate the house. In the process of loading , several items were taken to the end of the driveway. When it was determined that another truck was needed, driver and crew vacated our property and left valuable items which were stolen a short time later. Value of these items was approximately $2600 so police were called and report filed. Loaded commenced and completed st 6:30pm. Driver stated that my husband would need to follow the truck to the local weigh station to confirm weight. At that time, the driver had my husband sign the BOL and revised estimate but did not go over the changes or charges. The calculations for the cost were incorrect and we are certain that the weight was incorrect also as nothing from the BOL matches the cost/weight in the revised estimate. The dates are also incorrect as the driver dated the information for 9/4.

The final weight is triple what had been originally quoted and the bill went from $4497.00 to $17,000.00! My husband was instructed that driver had to have a check in the amount of $7400.000. We placed a stop payment on both checks until all issues could be resolved and numbers for weight and cost were corrected along with monetary reimbursement for the stolen items. I have tried to talk with Adam Avi who is supposed to be the operations manager and have been threatened with legal action. I have continually requested that the paperwork provided be corrected and to tell me where they are holding my household goods. I have also requested that my goods are loaded on - truck and re-weighed for accuracy but he has refused all requests. I have no problem in paying for actual and legitimate costs but don't want to be scammed. I am in hopes that when good folks read this that they will not hire this company. They have falsely misrepresented weight/ moving cost. They conduct themselves in a fraudulent manner.
