R & R Moving & Storage, Inc. Reviews

Run from these crooks!

Like the reviewer above, I thought I did my homework and also have been scammed. Eric Scott and Richard set up my move from United Moving in Florida. R & R Moving of North Hollywood actually came on time to do my pick-up. The move was to include two legs...one from Camas, Washington to Los Angeles and the other to Pelham, NY.

What actually happened was that the whole move went to Los Angeles. The drop off there went fairly well with an increased cost of $46 and no damage. The segment of the move going to New York turned into a disaster. It arrived 3 weeks late, after endless fanciful stories about broken trucks and phones answered by extremely jolly young women and the driver in the background yelling that he "wasn't there." It's clear that our grandfather clock was stored upside down at one point and will need new works. China packing was very poor and a number arrived broken.

Now it gets better, customercare at R and R at 6340 Coldwater Canyon Drive is not answering phone messages or e-mails. So I'll be writing to the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Will I have any luck? Probably not...there are 15 moving businesses registered at this address....

Moving from southern california to southern oregon about a 14 hour drive, I thought I did my homework, but i was still taken for a ride. I carefully asked many questions, thought i had all the answers but they were just to slick for me,

I dealt with a man named Eric Scott from United trcking out of florida, He assured me the price would be $5,773 for the move, He called me everyday for 2 weeks trying to get the deposit for the move, I finally gave him the $800 deposit and I never heard from him again, unless i initiated the call.

When the moving truck arrived 2 hour late and with a different name on the truck only to find out that was the beginning of the nightmare.

the so called supervisor of the 3 men(Carlos) came in and looked at all that was to be move, which i had discussed with Eric Scott in great detail, down to the number and sizes of the boxes and each piece of furniture.

Carlos looked around for about a minute and decided that the cost of the move would be$ 9,096.00. I call that bait and switch!!

my mouth dropped to the floor and i said i was promised the original price. i was all packed and ready to go. what could i do, they had me over a barrell. Come to find out that Eric scott of united moving out of florida was just a broker and not the actual moving company and he had no idea what he was talking about.

After the sticker shock sunk in there was more to come. they had to break down everything in the house, but promised to put it back together in the new home. It took them 11 hours to do this process, and when they delivered to the new home what a disaster.

there were parts missing to every thing includong not being able to put my $5,000 dollar adjustable bed back together, they lost some of the parts. total incompetance was the story with this company. 2 weeks later and i still haven't goten my bed back to normal and half the shelves for my book cases are still missing!!!
