Public Storage I rented a Storage Locker at Public Storage located at 3407 N E 36th Ave. Ocala 34479 on 02/12/2018. My monthly Rental fee is $ 274.00 a month. I had my Bank send the check on Nov. 15th. I checked with my Bank and my check was not cashed yet.. I get phone calls from Janet at 352 358-7684 and emails from Public Storage tell me my Rent has increased and other emails telling me my Rent is back to my regular prices... Now they want me to send them a check for $ 463.86 and if the DID NOT get my check the contents of my Storage Locker will be sent to Auction.. NEVER,, NEVER,, NEVER Rent a Storage Locker from Public Storage... Lied about getting my Monthly Rent Ocala Florida.

This is a complaint against Public Storage has rats infestation and negligence has sanitation issues, rats all in my belongings inside the unit was disgusting, dead mice, smelled badly including on the elevator. This property manage by disgruntled staff Ivy is property manager who is mishandling the payment and the corporate office at the location. Block of 3106 Old Spanish Trail Houston Texas also a dangerous employee that works the front desk that has mental health issue or bipolar is has attempted to attacks me several times. When asking questions about the property , billings inflation, wrongful removal my lock. Ivey has failure to identify herself as she has type of skin or std disease try to attacks others on the property. Mice infestation is considered health risk and blood all over my things inside the storage. A heavy rodents infestation they had the nerve rack my account up with all kinds of fees.

Misleading information try to auction my things know the 250 was returned to the Public Storage bank account. Afterwards they had took nearly 60 days to reduce the balance going back and forth.

Corporate office has continued to allow such reckless and unprofessional service failure to provide the employee full name take photos when I was no longer on the property without my permission. I will seeking legal ground to take legal action against Kathy's the property supervisor . Kathy has allowed the horrible behavior of her employees to hang up the phone leave message without identity herself. However has full access to my credit card and check, personal information but keep hiding and the employee real name is considered illegal and deceptibe business practices..

Public Storage raised my rent from $156.32 to $180.40 after ONLY TWO MONTHS. Then they raised it AGAIN after another 4 months, to $252.15. A 61% increase in 6 months. At this rate my rent would have doubled in less than a year. That's when I moved out.

The property manager will tell you they do not raise the rent for the first 6 months, NOT TRUE. They raised it TWICE in 6 months, and by A LOT.

I expect a raise in rent at some point, but in TWO MONTHS, and then again 4 months later? And the amount they raised it is ridiculous.

BEWARE. Public Storage tells you one thing, but if you rent from them, CHECK YOUR BILL MONTHLY. They are very slick, boardering on dishonestly. I won't ever rent from them again.

There are plenty of other storage companies around that aren't as agressive as Public Storage, I suggest you consider other companies first.

I went only to rent a storage unit and found Public Storage. I did a size guide and saw two images of the storage units I could rent. A 5x5 and a 5x10, that had people standing in the entryway showing the size of the units. The entryway was bigger than the person standing by the unit. I then proceeded to search for the size that fit my price and location. I found a unit in Bothell that was a 5x5 for $33. There were different-priced units that were the same size but thought the location was the factor. After seeing the unit on 4/4/2023 on the agreed-upon rent date I noticed the size of the unit assigned to me was 5023B and resembled a cubby hole and didn't depict the image i saw online as a size guide. No information as to the height was nowhere to be found. Since the office was closed I left a voicemail and spoke with Robin the next day. She informed me the size of the unit was 5x5x4. I explained the image on the website and she informed me that it was a corporate site. Not sure what that meant because corporate owned their location. Robin did offer me the storage I wanted but it was out of my budget so I didn't want to rent it at the time and requested a refund. Due to policy, Robin stated that I would only receive the lock charge. I would end up losing $62 because I felt misguided by the storage size online. Hmm, that didn't set well with me and asked for the corporate number. She asked if I wanted to close the account and I refuse. I informed her that I would allow corporate to handle the issue.. She provided me with a corporate phone number but they were closed. Since I work the graveyard shift I went online to search for someone in corporate so I could email them because I didn't want to miss the call. I found a Debra Wright, Customer Service Director. I sent the email on 04/05/2023. I never received a response but only auto emails from the storage location stating that my unit was moved out and I was refunded the lock charge. I asked for a full refund from corporate with explicit detail of the issue. I really felt like I was slapped in the face by never receiving an explanation from corporate and only receiving a refund of the lock charge while eating the $62 cost of rent and admin fees. I entered my information online, what admin work was done? The unit location looked clean so it's not the location or the employees. This is a simple policy has no exceptions and I dont care of your reason. Denied! The reason for the low ratings for this company all stem from corporate from my experience.

First, I am not surprised. At one time I had 3 units at this location of Public Storage. I knew that there was going to be an issue as every interaction with the management was a pain in the butt. The manager is simply abrasive and difficult to deal with.

At some point, I decided that I was tired of the management, and the constant price increases, so I decided to move my stuff, (even though I may be leaving Charleston soon requiring me to move my stuff once again.)

With more than a week, (maybe close to two weeks,) I notified the office on two occasions that I was vacating the unit. I was told to leave the unit in swept-out condition, and that she would put me into the system as vacating.

About a week after the first of the month, I got a notification that I failed to pay my rent. I called the office and left a message. Later that day, I got a call from the manager, explaining that the lock was still on the door and I did not notify her. I explained that the unit is one that has a tumbler lock that inserts into the door, and thought that they simply rekeyed the lock (swapped out the tumbler for another one before renting it out). She explained that no, that this tumbler lock is mine and I was supposed to take it off. I tried to explain that I was not told this when I notified the office.

So in summary, since I did not notify her directly, and because It was not explained that this tumbler lock was to be taken off by the 1st, I will be paying the full month's rent plus a $37.00 late fee. Furthermore, If I do not pay this extortion, they will ding my credit. Well, enjoy your $166 Public Storage. You have proven yourself to be just one more of piece of crap, ripoff company.

On May 2nd, 2022 we transferred to a smaller unit at the same facility and were told they would credit our account with the $186 prior May payment (minus 2 days) to the new smaller unit. They call this a unit transfer. Except the sales person messed up and opened a new account for the 2nd unit in my wife's name (same last name) but with the same credit card.

Apparently, given how the sales person for Public Storage set up the 2nd unit they now claim we can't be credited or refunded our money and its too bad we have to pay for both units. The local manager told us to call the coporate offices, which in turn said they couldn't do anything and to go back to the local office or maybe find the name of the district manger (which they could not provide).

The local mangaer then said NO it was too bad and our problem. So we will be moving out of that facility shortly and would strongly advise anyone from doing business with them. We even asked what if they change the name on the account to my name (with my wife and I both on the phone) but "oh no - we couldn't do that now" .

I guess they figure they get lots of customers, and one upset customer doesn't matter they are keeping our money. Seems like a franchise model mabye with no real accountable or customer service focused management.

The property manager (Mr. Terry Dunn) deleted my multiple long term accounts. While deleting my name off every single unit that I have paid for years now. He took my name off my accounts and placed only my wife's name on all of my accounts. I was told by Corporate that they were not allowed to do that, yet he did that.

Terry Dunn digitally captured a different storage location and placed that one under my wife's name as well. She did not sign that rental agreement, I did. My wife only rents one unit, not three. He also place my minors on my accounts. I had them removed. Where are my rental agreements that I signed?

The property manager also forced me to pay for two extra units, admin fees, and insurance, and never refunded my money. Unit # 2034 and unit # 1021 are 10'x30' units and they are not mine. So who rents those units? I'd like to know, because they should not be on my account. Please properly refund the money that was taken from my bank account.

Units 2212, 2302, and 3740 have been closed. These were my accounts. Unit **22 is my personal account. Where is my new unit # **41? It is no where online. I cannot pay, if it is not properly listed. The property manager does not know what he is doing, in my opinion. He completely messed up my rentals.

My units are **22 and **41. Terry Dunn rushed me through the rental agreement signing and never gave me a physical copy of my rental agreement, so I do not know what is says. I am giving a VERY POOR review for Mr. Terry Dunn because he deleted my Rental agreements and forced my wife's name on all of my accounts.

He also changed my email address and gave it to my wife. She has no access to that email. Mr. Terry Dunn has VERY POOR business ethics. If I could give this location no stars for the rating, I would. Everything stated here are my concerns and opinions about the problems with Public Storage- Property manager Terry Dunn.

In late July of 2021 I rented a storage unit from Public Storage in Lake Worth FL. I was informed by my mover that the rate I was quoted might be short term and that I should inquire about that issue with Public Storage. I was informed by a customer service rep that my rate would not go up in the first six months and after that "if" it went up it would only be a $10-$20 increase. I have recently been informed by Public Storage that my rate is going up $60 a month.

Renter Be Ware- If I had known that Public Storage would act in bad faith and lie to me about my rate increase I would not have rented storage space from them. Do not rent from this dishonest and fraudulent company!

In addition, Public Storage has purposely created a lack of communication in an effort to delay my payments in an effort to create late payment charges to my account.

  • Dec 22, 2021

I rented space from Public Storage on 10/25/21. On 10/26/21, I cancelled it. I have never gone to get the key nor put anything in the space before closing it at 1618 Bladensburg Rd NE, Washington, DC 20002. For 60 days I got the run around by Public Storage where at one point that said that they sent me 2 refunds (and I only got one for $30.92). I was told that the second refund was sent but I never got it. I have talked to more than 8 reps and made numerous calls to their corporate office and never getting anyone to call me back.

After calling today 12/23/21, I was told by a ne4w rep that Public Storage is keeping my money for the first 30 days even though, I never come to the place to pick up the key nor put anything in their storage. Also, that $1 moves you in is a lie too because they charged me for 30 days so the $1 move in did not happen.

Now Public Storage is saying that the $186.00 I spent on the storage space it is non-refundable. I was told this after calling Public Storage for 60 days where their reps had hung up on me, transferred me to multiple places just to avoid me so Public Storage can cheat me out of my money. Now Public Storage is saying that it is their policy to keep the first month payment regardless that I cancelled the space 1 day after purchasing the space.\\ This is not right, and the people need to know about Public Storage and their policies.

I am a Navy Sailor. I started business with public storage and parked my Lexus in one of their units from Nov 2020 at 94-1128 Ka Uka Blvd, Waipahu, HI 96797 because I joined navy boot camp last December. In April 2021 public storage called me that the catalytic converter on my car was stolen and they could not tell me when it happened and who stole it from my car.

I paid public storage every month to guard my car but it failed to take its responsibilities and liabilities. It's a total public storage's fault but they rudely refused to resolve the program they made. Public storage is really a big nightmare to me!

Sorry it took me so long to post this, Ive been busy:

Looks like you're the cleaning ladies after all. And staying in your building was really fun too, really warm and cozy. And so was letting in all of my friends too. We had a ball. :-) Thanks for the stay!

Try not to take it to hard, its not very good for you. Constipation is bad enough, you don't want to make it worse by having to explain to the doctor just whats all causing it.

And you might want to look into gating here soon, I know some people that really liked your location. And honestly don't have any qualms about helping themselves either.

Pity, when all that was required was to show some decency, like the kind I was ever so gracious enough to give you. When what I really should have done is make it perfectly clear-especially for that gremlin troll looking thing you got manning the front desk and even living there upstairs. When you actually act appropriately to your customers-instead of acting like you don't have to do the work I pay you for. You usually end up getting treated with the same decency and respect youre expecting to get. Let see how that attitude of yours is now.

Especially with me getting the last word.

Suck it.

And if it wasnt clear-you definitley are not going to be getting a single dime out of me. So, good luck with that.

I went to this Public Storage in Dallas on Avery to store some of my items. I went to the front desk to ask for the overhead door to be open because my storage is on that side of the building. The lady said that she will not open the door because the store is about to close. It was 5:06 pm and the store don't close til 6:00 pm. I told her that's almost a hour. She refused to open the door. Then she ask where is my truck to unload and I pointed at my cargo van. She says no she will not open the overhead door.

I asked did she know Trish the manager and she replied who? I keep asking her about the manager and she keep asking me who. I asked can I get the phone number to Corporate and she said no. I asked her why I cannot get the phone number and she asked is there anything else I can help you with. I asked her name and she told me to get out of her office. I said fine and took her picture, she told me if I took her picture that she would sue my a*s. I asked are you cursing me and she ignored me. Finally I saw her name tag and her name was Cheryl. I've never felt so disrespected in all my life. First of all this lady was rude and very disrespectful and seem to be on drugs or something.

Another employee came in and I asked for Trish's the manager and she gave it to me outside because I left the office. I tried to reach Trish but I was unable to get in contact with her. I motioned for the 2nd employee to come outside. I asked her for the phone number to corporate office and she gave it to me.

Cheryl should never be allowed to wait on any customers because her attitude and professional is totally unacceptable. I will continue to post this story everywhere I can, so people will realize what type of monster Public Storage have. There is no excuse for her behavior and the way she treats customers.

This public storage and the home office support is absolutely disgusting . We have a pod we were trying to move out of to move into this storage facility. When we informed the property manager of this she absolutely refused to allow us to bring the pod onto the property to unload it. There is plenty of room along the fence or even to the side in any of the rows to have the pod sat down without blocking access to anyone or disturbing other tenants.

However the manager insisted abd informed us if we brought the pod onto the property they would have it towed off and call police. They said it needed to be placed in the parking lot next door to the property. This is absolutely crazy that I would have to unload the pod onto a truck or trailer just to go next door through the security gate to access my unit then unload the truck trailer again into the storage unit. No one else is barred from bringing in a moving truck and spending as much time as needed to unload and out into their units do why am I descriminated against ?

I called the main office only to not get a response then get a call back but then they wouldn't return my calls . This is silly and nutz I have now spent an additional 160 dollars on an extra month of the pod and now in going to have to hire some guys to unload the pod onto a truck and trailer so I can drive it 250 feet just to have them guys unload everything into my unit. This is unbelievable . I can't believe they would treat a veteran like this without any compassion whatsoever. By the way the way they charge for units is nothing less than criminal anyway because I know the price on my 10x30 is only 110 dollars when I know some people are paying 200 or more for the exact same size unit.

This whole place is less than ethical the way they try to force insurance on you and require their special little locks which they also happen to sell. Nothing but crooks and jerks the Gladstone mo. Property is where this occured and the manager is unreasonable and a total $@$&@. U would not recommend this place to anyone until the management is turned over

Lisa at Public storage called us to say there was a charge back on 10/31/19 paymnet for the October storage payment which on my daughter's bank statement does not show any returns at all. Now they want to put a lien on my account and put my storage unit up for auction.

Lisa faxed my a copy of my account and it is blurry and not legible and I faxed her the copy of my daughter's bank statement which is clear showing NO bounced payments for this unit.

I rented from this company online. When I showed up it turned out the unit they rented me online didn't even exist much less available. I had a trailer full of equipment and it was going to be a holiday weekend I was stuck. They put me in a very hard to get to unit that I could barely fit my trailer in front of in the very back.

Then the fun started. They told me I had a past due amount of $48 that I had to pay upfront. I had no idea what this was for and ether did the staff but regardless if I want to unload it must be paid first. Then there was a service charge, lock charge, insurance charge and taxes to pay to receive my advertised first-month free rent.

The storage unit was a nightmare with unfinished walls and a few odd shaped scraps of sheetrock slapped on here and there. There was dirt, leaves and trash on the floor and mold and mildew everywhere. Rats had chewed their way into the unit several times and there was just a light bulb hanging from bare wires with some kind of material oozing from the ceiling .

Phone calls to management after the weekend produced no help on the condition of the unit but two weeks later I received a check for a partail refund of the $48 mystery money owed when I moved in. No explanation was ever given and the check listed no reason for it to be sent to me so I guessed it was for the fake billing at move-in.

At the end of my 30 days I was moving out and I was told that there was no reason to finish up on a Sunday I had until Monday to move out

Monday morning at 6 am I was notified I now owed a new $33 fee for being late and they had locked me out.

I called but could get nowhere I was just transferred from one robot to another. I went to the property and was told I not only had to pay the $33 late fee to get into my storage unit but also the months rent and there would be no refund of any unused days or I could have no belongings auctioned off my choice

My storage unit was burglarized while I was overseas due to negligence by Public Storage. I reported to the office that I couldn’t properly secure my unit due to their faulty latch and they never took care of it even though they said they would. The lights were also out in front of my unit upon move in.

When I contacted the office, they said they couldn't do anything about the lights at the time, so my professional movers had to move everything in the dark! I had to go overseas and while away, thousands of dollars worth of my things were stolen/damaged (along with 30 other units) due to a burglary. I am confident that my unit was targeted due to Public Storage's negligence.

When I returned from overseas, the office reps were very rude and lacked any empathy. Upon going through my remaining belongings, I found a large hole in my unit that was large enough to put my head and arms through to the unit next to mine and physically grab whatever I wanted out of there (which means they could do the same).

We have had a billing issue with Public Storage since September of last year. They continued to bill me AFTER the unit had already been re-rented, according to one of the employees. Every time I call over there, (useless people who don't want to do their job) they give me other numbers to call, all of which never answer their phones and never return my call. So far, I've been billed 5 months AFTER it's been re-rented

PLACED IN STORAGE: 2/1/2012

ACCESSED STORAGE: 4/2012

1ST FILED POLICE REPORT 1/26/2013

REMOVED ITEMS FROM STORAGE: 1/30/2014

MOVED ITEMS INTO APARTMENT OVER WEEKEND AND UNPACKED ITEMS DISCOVERED EXTENT OF THEFT. CALLED PUBLIC STORAGE AND BROWARD SHERIFF OFFICE TO REPORT EXTENT OF MISSING ITEMS.

ITEMS STORED AT:08216

1650 W. OAKLAND PARK BLVD

OAKLAND PARK, FL 33313

I PAID PUBLIC STORAGE TO SECURE MY ITEMS FOR 2 YEARS. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME I HAVE USED PUBLIC STORAGE, NEVER BEFORE HAVING A PROBLEM. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT PUBLIC STORAGE ALLOWED EMPLOYEES TO ACCESS MY UNIT AND GO SHOPPING IN MY UNIT.

HOW WERE THEY ABLE YOU WONDER? EASY! THEY HAD CUT MY LOCK, PLACED A PUBLIC STORAGE LOCK ON THE UNIT WHEN I PAID LATE ONE MONTH. WHEN DID THEY GO INTO THE UNIT, MAYBE ONCE MAYBE SEVERAL TIMES? I DID NOT CHECK THE UNIT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, BECAUSE MY FIANCEE HAD MAJOR MEDICAL ISSUES AND WAS MY MAJOR CONCERN. I ASKED THEM TO CHECK THE CAMERAS, NO CAMERAS ON THE ROW, JUST BY THE GATE. WOW, HOW CONVIENT FOR THEM, NO WITNESSES.

I SPOKE WITH THE DISTRICT MANAGER___________ WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE THE ONLY KEY TO THE UNIT, I DID NOT HAVE ONE. HE ACCUSED ME OF LIEING THAT MY ITEMS WERE NOT MISSING. FYI, SEE LIST NOT MANY ELECTRONIC OR EXPENSIVE JEWELRY, MOSTLY MOMENTOS AND NON REPLACIBLE ITEMS.

I WORK IN THE MOVING AND STORAGE INDUSTRY AND WHEN I FIRST NOTICE THE THEFT I BELIEVED IT WAS ONLY 2 BOXES (ELECTRONICS AND DISHES) AND A DOLLY. I WAS UPSET BUT HAVE COULD HAVE LEFT IT GO. I WAS UNABLE FINACIALLY TO MOVE ITEMS OUT OF STORAGE AT THAT TIME, DUE TO FINANCIAL REASONS AND MY FIANCEES HEALTH. WHEN UNIT WAS FINALLY EMPTIED AND BROUGHT TO MY NEW APARTMENT AND DISCOVERED THE IMMENSITY OF THE THEFT I REALLY BECAME UPSET AND YOUR RMPLOYEE ________________ ACCUSED ME OF STEALING MY OWN FAMILY’S HISTORY.

I HAVE LOOKED ON LINE AND SEEN THE BBB RATING THAT PUBLIC STORAGE HAS AN FM DO YOU CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS PROBABLY NOT. I DO EXPECT A RESPONSE TO THIS LETTER, MAYBE YOU WILL NOT DO ANYTHING, PROBABLY NOT, BUT I AM SURE I AM NOT THE FIRST TO HAVE THEIR ITEMS STOLEN AT THIS FACILITY.

THEY BELIEVED THAT BECAUSE I DID NOT ACCESS THE UNIT, THAT EITHER I WAS OUT OF STATE OR THAT I WOULD LET IT GO SO THEY WOULD BEAT THE AUCTIONEER. I MIGHT HAVE BEEN LATE, BUT NEVER MORE THAN THE 30 DAYS FOR IT TO GO TO AUCTION. WOW, I WAS ROBBED AND PAID TO STORE THE ITEMS FOR 2 YEARS. WOW, ROBBED TWICE.

I STILL AM TRYING TO REPLACE THE ITEMS THAT I CAN. SINCE MY FIANCEE IS NOW PERMANENTLY DISABLED, THE MONENTOS AND FAMILY HISTORY CANNOT BE REPLACED ESPECIALLY SINCE I WAS AN OONLY CHILD AND HAD THE ONLY ONES OF MIST OF THE ITEMS.

CONCLUSSION, MY ITEMS WERE TAKEN, I PAID FOR THEM TO BE STORED AND ACUSSED OF BEING A CRIMINAL BY YOUR STAFF. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE PUBLIC STORAGE. LET’S SEE IF YOU MAKE IT RIGHT OR EVEN TRY.

HAVE THEY MADE IT RIGHT, NOPE!!!!

I EVEN OFFERED A REWARD FOR INFORMATION AND THEY CONSIDER THAT HARRASSMENT. I WONDER HOW THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT. THEY DENIED INSURANCE AS USUUAL AS I SEE OTHER REPORTS ONLINE. I HAVE READ RESPONSES TO OTHER CUSTOMERS COMPLAINTS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I QUESS I WILL NEVER SE MY FAMILY HEIRLOMS AGAIN, BUT I WILL TRY TO MAKE OTHER CONSUMERS AWARE., WAITING TO SEE IF THEY WILL TRY TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT OR SAY THEY ARE SORRY.

Cynthia Huffman stored her contents at Public Storage in Studio City, California. Her contents went to auction, so the onwer (Cynthia Huffman) went in the room and put stickers on all her music cases, describing the instruments inside. All the cases were empty and the onwer clearly staged the room and committed a fraud. Even her amplifiers were "dummy amps" with the speakers and insides taken out. Grace Kim, a distric manager for Public Storage, sold me the room. I told her it was staged and she put me in touch with Geoffrey Gardner, the regional vice president. I later found out from other buyers that Grace Kim was "upset and frustrated" and telling the buyers this. Amazing that I am the bad guy when Public Storage just sold me a fraud room for almost $6,000! And very wrong of Grace Kim to talk to other buys at later auctions about this, completely unprofessional. Geoffrey Gardner then called me and I was optimistic to hear that he agreed the room was staged.

Then days passed and no word from public storage. Days later I called Geoffrey Gardner and he imformed me that public storage decided to do nothing about this and that they would give the proceeds of the sale to Cynthia Huffman, who is the real person who committed a fraud in this case. I do feel that Public Storage aided a crime and should have simply done the right thing and cancelled the sale, rather than allowing a staged room to be sold and benefit a lady who commited a fraud

PUBLIC STORAGE PIRATES, LIES, BROKEN PROMISES, LOCKS YOUR UNIT, CONFISCATES YOUR MATERIAL! Headquarters Glendale, AZ, U.S.A.

Public storage promises $1 for the first month's rent. They never did this for me. Public storage has DOUBLED their rates over the past 3 years. The unit is the smallest available and, there is no climate control. The rate is $187/month for the smallest unit. The rate is an OUTRAGE. A storage unit with no climate control nor any thing else would be 10/month absolute tops. I could not afford the outrageous rate. These are very hard times, and public storage has TO CHARGE LESS, NOT DOUBLE. That is the POOREST of public relations. I told the "manager" that I could not get my stuff out right now, but I do have work lined up within the next month. Whereupon, public storage put an "overlock" on my unit!! When I patiently explained to public storage that any storage provider will allow 3 months before taking punitive measures, the "district manager" and the employee made up LIES that "in the contract". Any contract that is immoral is automatically null and void.

public storage does NOT EVEN TELL YOU WHERE YOUR MATERIAL WILL BE AUCTIONED OFF!! I told them that my wife and I have winter clothes, overcoats, et cetera, and that they must remove the lock so that we can at least get that. "customer focus" my big toe!! "member S&P 500". SO WHAT!! Public storage are pirates, preying on people. public storage MUST have all of their assets confiscated and the moneys distributed to those whom have been robbed by this predatory, pirate, ransacking, secretive, heinous, criminal, abominable outfit!

Must recommend not to rent from any Public Storage facility. They have unused unethical practices such as bait and switch to luring customers.

Despite having been a perfect paying customer with no issues, they have often raised rates over 300% the rate of inflation in a 6 month period with no plausible explanation, minimal notice, and absolutely no response or assistance from customer service either at the facility nor via their phone or email.

My family & I moved to Boiling Springs, SC in December, 2017. We had put all of our belongings in a Public Storage on Chesnee Hwy, in Spartanburg, SC. We had to get one of their larger units to hold all of our things. This particular unit had multiple doors, which contained the locks belonging to the storage facility. We had purchased a lock from the front desk for the main door that we had access to, along with insurance through Orange Door that was offered at the front desk.

On June 1st, 2018, we signed the lease to our new place & went the storage facily to get our things. Upon entering the storage unit, over half of our belongings were missing. We imediately called the police & filed a report.

I also reached out to Orange Door Insurance to begin the claim with them as well. I filled out all of the required paperwork, sent in pictures & receipts of all the items that I could find, along with the police report.

Because my personal lock was not physically broken, Orange Door Insurance denied my claim. They will not return my phone calls or emails. The detective had even reached out directly to the claims adjuster & sent her an updated police report and still not response from Orange Door.

I met the detictive back at the storage facility & we were advised that there are not security cameras on any of the buildings. We asked for a list of all of the breakins they have had in the past few years & the list was very long. Every unit in my building had already been broken into & this information was not given to me at the time that I was inquiring about the unit.

We had also asked the front desk attendent to bring the keys to be sure that all the keys to all of the additional locks were accounted for. And all of them but 1 was not accounted for & it belonged to someone else. The detective & I was told that the lock belonged to someone else & they did not have a key for it. The detective asked why was it never removed & replaced with another facility lock. The attendent, responded "I dont know"

I need some help!! I don't know where to turn for help. I want to go after the storage facility & make them accountable for all of the breakins occuring on their property. Not just for me, but for all of the other families that will be moving in after me.

I also want Orange Door insurance to honor the claim, that was legitimately turned in.

I moved into my unit in May 2017 a 10x10 unit# 396, $113.00 per month, month to month and was informed I needed to give at least 2 days notice if I was going to move out. The gate access and property would close at 9 pm sharp nightly and I never got locked in or out as I obey the rules. Anyway I needed a bigger unit and found one nicer and cheaper in Irvine, Ca so I gave my 2 day notice and then didn't move out as I figured I may as well wait until after Christmas as most of the items are our Decorations. So I called the office and informed them of my plan change and they were totally fine with it and reminded me to give a 2 day notice before I do move out," I know I will" I replied. So now I put in 2 (two) 2 day notices to move out, not one mention of the time I had to vacate the unit by time wise ...not even a hint of a specific time to be out of mu unit and close out account, I just figured the time would be by 9 pm when the property closes but If I were to get behind and take a bit longer to load the truck or something, I naturally assumed 12 midnight of the last day of a month was in every way, shape and form common knowledge the absolute end of a month and 12:01 am is the beginning of a new month, a deadline , no gray area, as to not roll over into the next month I knew I would have to pay full rent for the new month and that would be a real stupid thing to do and was no way going to be that tenant!!!

So now its almost January and I thought I would make it out on January 1st per my 2nd notice....nope, one more month and that was it!! So once again I called and spoke to the manager and she was fine with that and assured me it was no problem, just let her know at least 2 days before I move out. Ok I know already, we both laughed because I was now 3 months past my intended moving date.Feb 1 for sure....nope something came up...again, so I called and extended my stay one more month. Now this is 4 times I am giving notice and then canceling move out. March 1 2018 has got to be the final date as I was paying for the other unit at the Irvine Property as well, My husband was too busy at work to help me is why I had to keep extending my stay. So its February and I knew I could move out for sure completely by Feb 28th as The entire month I was taking small loads to the Irvine Property and purging my belongings, and had the Aliso unit nicely organized and ready to load up with out any super of sorting or packing..just pack and go. I was proud of myself being so nicely organized and ready to go.

So about 4 pm on Feb.28th 2018 I went to the PS Office and got the info on what to do with the lock, and tell them i was for sure leaving the property today tonight and I wanted to close my account and whatever the protocol was as I had to rent an hourly van from Home Depot to move my things....alone . This meant I had to be out of that unit, unpacked and into new unit , and return the rental van by no later than 8:50 pm At Home Depot otherwise I would have to pay 20.00 x 8 hours at least if I was a slacker. So I tied up all the paperwork and they took me out of the system and said I was to keep my key and have unit clean and empty. I was out of the unit and my last gate code log was 8 pm on Feb 28th 2018 with my account closed earlier in the day of the 28th of Feb 2018, I was kicking butt right on schedule and proud of myself, I was now exiting the property for the last time at 8 pm on Feb 28th and my account was closed earlier that day so I was good to go.

So I get this letter stating I owed them 113.00 for the Month of March 2018. I didn't understand why I received this, I called the Allied phone contact and explained my situation and they lady understood and agreed I was not in violation of the rules. She noted it and I hadn't heard from them again until a second notice came and I went to the office at the property and the gal gave me the contact info for district manager so I called and left a detailed message with my info and phone number because I have great credit and no way was this going to screw me up. No reply ...I got another notice so I was pissed now and went to the office at property and there were two new people there and I explained what the deal was and the lady told me the move out date was March 1 2018 on the account info in computer there...no no no I was off the property by 8 pm Feb 28th.and closed account at like 4 that same day as not to use rental time of truck diking around with that stuff. She said well, its considered the Next month after our office closes at 6 pm. WHAT ?! I was never told that, and I have made many move out 2 day notices ...like 4 or 5 with no mention from any employee or the manager at all ....even that same day when I came in to close out my account... maybe the manager or the other employees should have said ..., "Oh and to avoid being charged for an additional month be sure to be moved out by the time our office closes at 6 pm....don't you think that is a major big time key factor in protocol of moving out??? Yes I Bet all of you agree I should have been informed or reminded because of its presence in my Public Storage contract.....they didn't feel it was necessary???? it was in contract... which i never read until then like 10 times looking for that clause...I could not find one letter or word or one mention of the clock time to be moved out is the time the property office closes at 6 pm .

I went to the office after i looked for it in contract and when you can find it and show me where it states that in the contract ...any contract plus mine....signed by me....it states that I needed to be out by 6pm instead of 9 pm and i beat that by an hour out by 8pm I will not pay for another month ..never..its a ripoff scam and I will not roll over , not for a penny....Its the principal now..and if messes with my credit, someone will be brought to justice and beg for my leniency, they have no idea who I am and what I do, put it this way Erin Brockovich in the movie looks like a novice compared to me... I have taken down huge corporations by myself as they were trying to rip me off and do me wrong. Bring it on Public Storage, Let's dance!!! If I were them, I would take the high road because I am coiled and ready to strike.

I started renting a unit from Another Room Storage on Aungust 2011. I had no problems with this company, however, I went in to make a payment on August the 30th of 2016 to be told they are now Public Storage. I asked why I wasnt notified of the new ownership. I talked to Ted Spatt, he stated that he could not find me in the system, they had me on file so he had me fill out a new application with their company and stated they could not except any money from me at that time due to not being in their system. He told me to call back the 1st of September to only be told that i was still not in the system. They said to call back the 1st of October of 2016 and I was still not in the system. This went on for several months of being told the same thing. I was reassured nothing would happen to my things. I took more items over in June of 2017 and I talked to Courtney King she stated that it shoulnt be much longer and that i would receive a letter and phone call when i was in the system. I Talked to Laura in july. I went back on August 15th of 2017 and discovered that the lock had been changed and the storage had been emptied. A worker named Dean contacted the district manager Phillip and was reassured that he would call me by the end of the day and he would look into what happened. He never returned the call. I went back on August the 16th of 2017 at 9:30 when they were suppose to open and waited until 11 for someone to show up and then got a call from the district manager Phillip. He said he was new and he was unsure of what happened. He told several diffferent stories of what could of happpened, one being that it could have been robbed because they have had several robberies. He then stated our unit had been disposed of and thrown in the dumpster. When pressured on how this could have happened, he said it was a mistake on their part and to let him contact his boss and he guaranteed that he would call me back no later than 5 that day and as of September 15th of 2017 I still have not heard anything from him. The loss from the storage was more than just valuables lost, it was very sentamental items from my deceased son and several other family members. Upon making a police report I was told they have had several break ins and when asked about cameras they were told they were nonfunctional. Also was told that 3 managers have been fired and are suspected of being an inside job.

I had a storage units with Another room storage and then they change people. Then the storage became Public Storage, never had a problem with these other storage company. Then we received letter that our storage unit was properly, unlocked. I always eavy lock on my unit. Then I went to my unit with Public Storage and they had placed their lock on my unit. I receivedthis letter two weeks aftern my storage unit was broken into, then I filed a police report, acording to the Police Office. He had been called 4 times in a two week period to this storage company. then we asked the storage company about video camera and they claim the cameras was broken. How convenient cameras was not working, then up on my return all the current employees was fired. Now I filed a claim with my insurance company, they will not cover some of my things, because my policy do not cover Automotive Rims and Tires. I want to file a lawsuit against them to recover my lost items. The police office states that he felt this was an inside job and now it must have been. All the former employees have now been fired. This does sounds very suspious of their employees. I just want them to pay me back, my $1000.00 deductible. My lost of claims the insurance will not cover items whoch total a lost of $4000.00. Now the Public Storage turn me over to collection for overdue bill, When I left and empty storage out on June 29, and was not in their storage by July 1,2015. So I did take a picture of empty storage and clean it out. I do not owe them $94.00. they owe me for lost items.

In contracting with this area self storage the agent charged for 2 months instead of the one she was supossed to. when asked if we could just get the one month to start the use of the storage unit she charged for two months when asked why she stated it was a misstake and then stated it would take a considerable amount of time to get the money back problbly knowing the manager would not give a refund or it was done intentionally we dont know. so we just told her to keep it on so we would be payed ahead . in finding we did not need the unite after all we asked for our money back on the over payment well the manager never got back in contact with us at all and on talking to the agent we delt with she just accknolaged it was a Shame we couldent get a refund . it makes you think it was donee on perpous with all knolage no refund would be given if you changed your mind and needed your money back on the OVER PAYMENT. The California State Attorney really needs to take a close look at the Corporate Scofflaw Thievery of Public Storage Inc., a deceitful Corporation who chronically rapes their California Customers lives away with Fraudulent Conversions, (as well as in other states), and as they did to me personally, with a blatantly Illegal Form Contract that absolutely Violates SSSFA, the Governing Laws of the Storage Industry in my state of California. Yet they just keep getting away with it because they know the majority of their customers do not know the law and the State is turning a blind eye to what this Illicit Corporation is doing

In my opinion what Public Storage is doing is beyond just Fraud, it is Criminally Negligent and a Chronic Conspiracy to Defraud all their California Customers on multiple levels, and they do so as a Scofflaw Corporate Policy that Wrongfully, with an Illegal Contract that allows them to Defraud their customers by Maliciously and Illegally under CA Law, triple late fees, Overstate Actual Balances, Lock Out their Tenants, Break, Enter and Trespassing into customers units for their own Self Help Collection before Fraudulently Converting what's left of their Customers Property with Wrongful Lien sale Auctions without any proper notification, Breaching their own Illegal Contract that states they will send you notifications electronically.

Personally I consider what Public Storage did to me was Grand Theft, and that is one of sixteen of my causes of action against them. These Corporate Scofflaw Thieves literally leave their CA Customers with NOTHING except what they may have with them! And they do so with self authored and blatantly illegal provisions in their contract that do indeed violate their own industries governing laws, on top of violating several CA and US laws on the way, and in turn, Violating all their customers as well! This is based on my personal experience! I was Defrauded on the first day with a blatant Bait & Switch as they Falsely Advertised a $1 Dollar Special, that was nothing of the kind! And then it just got worse from there!! I insist that Public Storage Inc., are Corporate Scofflaw Thieves who have wrongfully destroyed 47 years of my life as an artist, and they did so with blatant Fraud and Deceit, and as a corporate policy that the California State Attorney needs to stop! And I am just one of THOUSANDS they continue to do this to daily.

My entire business, my career, my entire life's work as an artist is gone because of their deceitful Scofflaw Policy to use an illegal contract, a contract that they actually do Breach anyway with their Wrongful and Criminally Negligent Actions that lead to all their scofflaw violations of Law, and they do so as they claim their illegal contract gives them the authority, when under CA Law, their entire contract is blatantly, Illegal, Defrauding and I would argue Void under several CA Laws!!

All my portfolios, years of my best show pieces are gone! Millions of original copyrighted images, Photographs, Graphic Design as well as 10's of Thousands of Dollars worth of my Original Painted Artwork on canvas that was illegally Raped from my life by Public Storage, and they did so as a Corporate Policy to Defraud their customers, as they did to me, and is something they do on a daily bases by using a totally Illegal Contract as well as a multitude of Deceitful Business Practices that do indeed violate multiple CA Laws and absolutely violates their customers rights in the process, as they did to me!! This needs to be stopped NOW!!!!!!!

If you want to hear from an expert Storage Lawyer who knows exactly what Public Storage is doing as a scofflaw policy, please contact "Dale Washington", [[email protected]] 714-625-1161, 714-242-3868. Dale specializes in Storage Law and he has sued Public Storage multiple Times and currently has several Class Action Lawsuits against Public Storage in court. Dale knows all the Illicit and Deceitful business practices that Public Storage inflicts on it's California Customers, and I know he would be incredibly grateful if our Government takes notice of what is happening and offers some help from their end.

These Scofflaw Corporate Policies have been going on way to long now! I was forced to authored a 16 Cause of Action Lawsuit myself, against Public Storage, a total Scofflaw Corporation of well groomed Thieves who have stolen my life. They may have their own legal department, but right is right and wrong is wrong, and what they did was wrong! And do plan to make them pay. It's been hard to find contingency lawyers since these thieves have left me with no way to make a living. The suit is not filed yet, but should be filed in the next several weeks.

I would say this business practice is at best deceptive. Basically your just giving your stuff away to private auction sellers who, that after roughly a 60% monthly charge for late fees, they will then allegedely collude with ebayers and local craigslisters to sell off your items. Usually people from out of town, or any visitors to the city would be a likely target. Our bill was roughly 65% over paid in late fees and taxes and such monthly, and when we became aware of the past due balance, immediateley called with half payment. They sold all the stuff anyway.

As far as ID theft or anything, I wouldn't mind a lawyer contacting us. We can pay daily. Don't have much. As far as if anyone one else has had a similar experience, I'd love to here from you if you have ideas. Maybe classaction.com. IDK. Just a heads up. You make your own decisions though. Just sell your own stuff on ebay basicly. I don't see how pawn brokers, or lenders are held to a standard of interest rate being able to be applied to loans, or a renter has a standard of some sort. All in all, 0-5 in my opinion. Would't reccommend to an enemy.

P.S. I have my bills and other documents if your interested. IDK what to do with them.

I arrived the next day with a trailer full for storage and was met with a property manager saying 1st thing I was lucky he was there, I should have called and made an appointment to move in?? He said the fee is 175.00 per month with a 25.00 discount, I told Steve this is wrong, but I cannot research it now as I have my trailer loaded for the storage and a baby in the truck. Another thing they don't tell anyone is that you must buy their special lock $19.99, a $25.00 administration fee and you must buy insurance on the storage space $11-15 per month and sign and initial forms that you will not bring them to court? I spoke to the District manager twice David Friday and the second time after he tried to resolve this with text messages he called me and was yelling over the phone I should have read the email 1st before coming in and that's it. I asked him to stop yelling as my wife could hear him over my phone and he said he was just using his car phone and he has to talk loud.

Advertised 124.00 on the web, arrived it was 150.00 plus 25.00 admin plus 19.99 lock plus monthly insurance $11-15. Its one big scam, they use so much advertising dollars they push down any complaints.

The district manager says you shouldve read the contract fully and the propterty manager has very little personality, except sit down and sign this and this. And i was lucky i caught him, because he was going out, I didnt know i had to make an appt for storage.

My older sister, age 76 when she died last month, had the misfortune to have been a customer of this business since 1993. She originally had 4 units, and decreased it to two, over time. She had started using their services when she lived in cincinnati She was a consultant who moved often before she retired), and found it convenient to leave items there.

Until she became 'broke', due in no small part to the way the charges for this service steadily increased, which in turn made it harder for her to keep her car in good enough repair to travel there, she periodically went there to remove items that she no longer needed or wanted to store. She paid at a local other public storage facility, in the town in which she last lived, which was no longer ohio. She paid by visa card at least part of the time, so this may constitute an even more serious level of misbehavior by this company.

Remember, this is a long time customer. That meant nothing to the public storage ripoff artists. The charges steadily increased. As in paragraph above, that affected her health, her peace of mind, and in my opinion hastened her death. They periodically sent dire reminders that a lien had been or would be placed, items auctipned, etc. Unfortunately, she did not confide in either of her siblings that this was going on. We would have taken steps to intervene, had we known.

Their website https://www.Publicstorage.com/ohio/self-storage-cincinnati-oh/45241-self-storage/1464 shows that the standard charges for the size of units she had are $72 per month, and $121.00 per month. They were charging her $181.91 and $234.33 respectively. Rather than reward her being a long term customer, they took advantage of a senior person on a fixed income. Their continually raising the rates to an egregiously high level should be investigated by the consumer protection bureau, by the ftc, icc, and by the agencies that oversee cases of elder abuse. I am sure that the public storage company does this all over the country, since this is a national company.

To make things worse, when i Her sister) was notified by her apartment complex management that she had died, i took time off from my work, and went across the state to deal with her arrangements and effects. The contact person charles stated that Despite we, my husband and i, only had one weekend available that we would be available to at least inventory what was in there, and despite my ability to prove i was next of kin - my birth certificate and my sister's - and despite our jumping through the hoop of immediately going to a local storage outlet of the company to pay their outrageously high charges) we would not be allowed even to come there to view and inventory the contents. That surely was illegal, as despite our having paid, and being able to prove we had a right to do so, i/we were prevented from exercising the due diligence which an estate administrator normally would be requied to exercise.

My brother and i are so disgusted over this exploitation of a vulnreable elder One of the definitions of elder abuse in ohio) that we mutually decided this company does not deserve another dime from our family, nor will they receive any further paymentS). I am slightly mollified and laughing to myself that they Public storage) will see that my sister stored a lot of 'useless junk' of no actual value. Sadly too, my sister died destitute thanks to the ongoing abuse of a vulnerable oldster perpetrated by this company.

The bottom line is, avoid doing business with public storage. There are a large number of other such reports about this company.

  • Oct 21, 2016

I just put my belongings into Public Storage back in May. I have a rate of $134 a mo. I was just sent an invoice of an increase in Nov. to $157!!! Haven't been there a year and they are jacking my rates. Went online for the pricing of the exact same unit and it's $108 to $118!!! What gives! How does one determine pricing?? How do you expect to keep tenants this way? This is a huge turn off! Not to mention it has taken me weeks to get anywhere with this company. All they are willing to do is honor my rate in Nov! Then I go online and read about the CEO being a crook!! That's really comforting, and a class action law suit that I will gladly partake in!

I needed temporary storage as I was moving from one apartment to another, but had a two week gap between places. So i was simply crashing at my brothers place for two weeks, and got a storage unit to store all my stuff. Public storage has specials so the first month costs you very little. They want you to keep your unit for more than a month, or else they don't make much at all. My first month cost me 60$ total. My second month was to run me 160$. I rented my unit on 6.6.2016 and had to be out by 7.5.2016 in order to not be charged for an extra month. On 6.27.2016 I informed the property manager that I had lost the keys to my unit, and needed help. She told me that the owner could come and cut off the lock if I bought a new one from them (they charge something like 25$ for a 5$ lock...). So I did buy the lock from them, and informed the property manager that I needed the lock cut off before the 5th so I could get all my stuff out and not be charged for another month. I was promised that the lock would be cut off by 7.3.2016 in order to give me two days to remove my things and avoid being charged more.

The owner failed to cut off my lock and provide me access to my unit until 7.7.2016, and I believe this was done intentionally to force me to pay for an extra month that I didn't need. I was charged at the time, but disputed the charge with my bank (Wells Fargo) and they awarded me back the money deeming the charge fraudulent. However, this owner has no remorse, and has put the account into collections, despite my bank determining that fraud occurred. I have since written a letter informing the collections company that now owns my debt that I am disputing this charge, and that my bank has already deemed it fraudulent. This owner, and this business have no concern whatsoever for their customers. I informed them that I would be filing negative reports all over the web about their unfair practices, and they don't seem to care what the reviews of their business online look like. Do yourself a favor and go to ANY of the other several storage unit places in the area. These guys will screw you over every chance they get!

When the manager called to follow up and I told her we moved in the day before and I came to pick something up the next morning and it stunk so bad that I emptied our stuff out of the locker. I had to literally scrub everything and wash everything and some things still stink. When the manager called to see how we liked it I told her and she said someone would call me - they DID NOT CALL. She also told me that was the RAT poison that smelled. WAIT, RATS? I SPECIFICALLY STATED I WANTED A CLEAN FACILITY WITH NO CRITTERS THE DAY I BECAME A CLIENT - LIARS!!!! I am also posting this review in other places online to save others from using the facility. THAT IS SUPER AWEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY CALL WHEN THEY WANT YOU TO USE THEIR SERVICE BUT SUCK AFTER THAT!

I am a long-time customer of Public Storage (2010-present).

I have been repeatedly late on payments for the last 1.5 years. I am well aware of this fact and also of the financial penalties that have accompanied the late payments.

However, I went to the Public Storage location on Sinton Rd. In Colorado Springs, CO and was treated with the utmost disrespect also to include my friend who had accompanied me. Here is the account:

I entered the store location at approximately 3:15 p.m. with my friend. My purpose was to make a payment on my late account. “Gene”, a well-known representative for many years, greeted my friend and me about the details of my account. In a calm manner, I questioned Gene about the seemingly excessive late charges over many months. Gene then proceeded to send his coworker out of the office as if to anticipate an aggressive argument with me. Gene then proceeded to raise his voice at me in anger and in a somewhat violent manner in efforts to explain my account.

My complaint here is not about my charges; however, it is clearly indicative of battery charges, which I am considering pursuing very soon. The cameras show all the evidence, and I also had a friend with me (as a witness).

In addition, I was informed by Gene that he was unaware if the lien and auction charges are actually filed with the court; and that the company possibly had the rights to take such action without any court filing. I will be checking with the local courts tomorrow.

I have plans to pursue this charge immediately. Public storage employees are less than professional and also aggressive and rude. I am also gathering other customers for a potential class action lawsuit. The evidence of other dis satisfied customers is clearly stated in many places online.

Do not get scammed by 1.00 first month fee - called call center 1-800-688-8057 associate said that it would be $1 plus $24 administration fee plus state tax and bring your own lock. I asked several times what was the cost and what was needed. I was told $25 plus tax, plus ID. Made reservation. The local public storage called and spoke to agent who said when would you be coming and then I asked what was needed just to be sure. She told me it would be at least $61 for the first month that included 1 plus 25 plus tax plus INSURANCE. At no time did customer service agent mention incsurance and I asked several times. I was quite amazed. Agent put the unit mgr on the line. The manager said yes there is insurance on the unit and there are three different levels to choose from. Told her customer service said 25 plus tax and did not mention anything about insurance. She said that customer service would not know and every state different. What seems strange to me, which I told the manager is that the agent knew which state the reservation was for and even if they do know the exact insurance rates he did not mention it at all as a fee. I told the manager of 7975 Branch Avenue in Clinton, Md that Public Storage did not practice full disclosure of pricing just to get you in the office. I of course told her to cancel the reservation. One last thing - even though I only needed a small unit - the reservation was for one of their largest units which would have been in the hundreds if I had kept the unit for more than a month. Big time scam artists - BEWARE!

Hi, I'm Rich from Santa Clara. Been using Storage System for my belonging.

What surprise me is that in some of them Restroom is never open for people who pay every month and are in title to use Restroom occasionally; I consider it a Human Rights Violation and a criminal SCAM behavior. Torturing 50 to 100 people a day or 1000 legally being there customers a year is big social problem. I know there are many sick & handicapped people, disable & veterans, oldest and woman too, Ladies has always more urgent need.

What shall they do; pee to the bottle or run to the car and visit gas station or fast food or near by Costco or something – while their stuff is on corridor …

Manager come to the office at 9:00 – open it, he goes home at 18:00, close restroom for the day. Sundays & Holidays is never open a single minutes. Most people work, tells your boss, you have to leave job to go to the storage, Only have time to grab or re-order own things … after work … or on weekends; NO Restroom what so ever, while we have time to visit it.

We come between 06:00 and 22:00 and have no way to pee in urgent situations. After I did hate this in Extra Space Storage on 1700 De La Cruz Blvd I moved out to Public Storage on 1018 Duane Ave and is the same criminal minded customer service.

They never said this before you move in; you learn this hard way after you put your stuff in. This is SCAM and restroom shall be open all the time Gate is open for customers, not the office. I’m perfectly healthy man – no prostate or things like that, but while I’m a little cold I do need to pee every hour …

Using Storage is not easy task, small place and too many things. Sometimes to find something take few hours and is not way to run out for 3 minutes, while your stuff lay on corridor… looking around to pee do take 20 minutes or longer; and your stuff is out not safe. I try get help from Santa Clara City Major, but he ignore it. Maybe his name is Mr. Flint ? You pay every month .. or they kick you out; by check, cash or money order ... some do use credit card; Storage love it ... Move in, pay by plastic and never show up to get your own stuff for your life.

I'll be bypassing the first month for a dollar ripoff and continue to the next complaint which is NEVER lose your key to the $21.00 lock you were made to buy when you first rented your unit, because if you do, you will be required to buy another lock I was told there is only one key and now I have to pay $21.00 AND wait 2 weeks for their boss to come out to the unit and snip my lock off. So now I have to rent my storage for another month and pay an extra fee supposisly because i have the only key. The real truth to this matter is one day when they can get off their lazy butts, they will go to a key making place and spend a couple of dollars and get a copy of the key they have and give me another key to the lock that is already there.

Everyone knows when you buy a new lock that they always suppky 2 keys to that lock. In fact, I got them to show me a key just in case I overlooked it at home, and lo and behold when they did this, they showed me a lock with 2 keys attached to it! This proved to me they do have a spare key and they are making extra money off of my negligence. I don't know if there is a way around this or not, but by reading other complaints, I now know Public Storage is not consistant with their rules across America. Maybe knowing this much I might be able to get around this stupid money making scam?! I think we should start a class action lawsuit is my answer. Hey, $20.00 may not be much for some people, but for me it's a lot at this point of time.

David Friday as per our conversation on Saturday November 28,2015, you stated that you gave away my property that was stored in unit B135 at Public Storage located at 199 Missouri Ave N, Clearwater FL. I received notice stating my account was past due and in order to avoid my unit being auctioned a payment of $469.52 needed to be made before November 27,2015. On November 20,2015 I made an online payment of $465.00 by Debit card. I am attaching confirmation of payment to this email. On November 21,2015 I came to the storage facility located at 199 Missouri Av N in Clearwater Fl and made a payment of $4.52 for the remaining balance to your Manager named Jessica. Jessica then accompanied me to my storage unit B135 and removed the lock that was placed on the unit.

I then took out some of my property as the storage unit was still in my possession until the following Billing date of December 1,2015. On November 28,2015 I went online to purchase a fullsize mattress that was for sale at Bobbie jo Mcdonalds thrift shop location at 1283 Lincoln Av also in Clearwater Fl. After arriving I noticed a frame that was custom made which I am attaching photos of the frame hanging in my home with other property that was in my storage unit that you gave a way. U gave away My Dresser, night tables, Frame, TV Stand 2 boy bikes a bin filled with toys and 4 chairs. Upon browsing through her yard sale which was advertised on Let it Go App I went to her shop to purchase the full size mattress, I seen my Custom made frame. I then seen all my property that was in unit B135 at her sale.

I am also attaching the ads posted showing my property for sale to this email. On November 23,2015 I received an email from the public storage facility where I had my property stored stating that a lock was placed on my unit as customer courtesy in order to protect my belongings and keep them safe. I also sent you two voicemails left by Jessica and Vicki who work at the facility stating that a lock was placed on my unit to keep my stuff safe via email. You stated during our conversation that you were under the assumption that I no longer wanted my belongings. Not sure how you came to that conclusion when the Prior weekend I made my full payment in order to secure my unit. I am requesting full reimbursement of the cost of my property that you illegally gave away without my consent.

After paying for my unit prior to the deadline date, which would legally release the lien public storage had on my unit. Without my consent you gave my property away. Before I file civil suit against you and Public storage I am demanding reimbursement of the cost of my property. This Demand letter is being sent to the email address you provided me in hopes that you can rectify the negligence that you and your company are responsible for. I did not authorize you to enter my unit and give my property away. Sincerely, pissed off customer Below u will find one of the ads with my dresser and night tables Also the payment confirmation and the email feom your facility stating they secured my unit. If needed I also have the voicemail left stating they secured my unit to keep My property safe before you illegally gave it away.

Public Storage sold off my stuff because of non-payment. Now I informed them I was over seas and was not able to get into contact with anyone and was never informed on the auction. They stated they contacted me but that was bogus; so I come back to find out my stuff has been auctioned off. Im like where can I sleep now!!they say call this guy name phil, but there was no such thing!!! I had to force the Customer service rep to tell me why my stuff was auctioned and she refused to tell me, until I started screaming!. This is terrible like comeeeeonnnnn. They said they mailed me information and found out it was delinquent because I no longer lived there!! And they still sold my stuff.

I am so upset about how my 2 60" and 55" tvs just walked out of a locked storage. Sounds like an inside job to me. I told employee that lock needed to be fixed properly as it was dented and took a while be properly locked. I was told that they would only repair when all units locks were repaired at one time. Now my tvs are missing and no one knows anything. Think your things are safe at public storage well think again. Read the small print. Put your own locks on because i think they have extra keys. Be careful when storing expensive items.

I was renting with public storage for almost a year. I normally would just pay the late fees required. But When my job required me to wait for a paycheck due to the system change for their paper checks, it put e behind on my storage fee. I called to the copany and asked for an extension, but the manager told me to try and borrow the money fro a family member are bank. If i coudn't get the money by the next day y things would be sold. It took me 4 1/2 years to get everything over again. But I trusted them and they let me down. The letter was never served to me from any courthouse. I only want whats rightfully mines. I asked if I could have my personal inforation and was told that he would see but everything was supposably thrown away. I am a mother of four and starting over has not been an easy task. But maybe someone from this web could assist me with my issue that I a faced with.

Please conatct e and let e know what can be done about this issue.
