Presidential Moving, LLC Reviews

Presidential Moving Services, LLC (US DOT No.: 2897189; ICC/MC No.: 973893) engages in multiple corrupt, unethical, dishonest, and fraudulent practices. Indeed, they were able to secure my business and my money through the typical bait-and-switch method. That is, they promise you a quote, even put it in writing in a contract, but then place you in a situation where you must pay a much larger amount than quoted and expected.

For my move, I secured quotes from a number of moving companies. I even forwarded to them the quotes from each other. In the end, Presidential Moving Services, LLC was willing to come in with the lowest bid and promised to be the cheapest. I questioned their representative Josh Stevens thoroughly to ensure that the company will do what he said it would.

On December 19, 2017, I signed via DocuSign a contract with Presidential Moving Services, LLC. The total price for the entire move as stated in the contract (ATTACHED) is $1,900. I negotiated this price with Customer Service Representative Josh Stevens. In the contract, regardless of space and price, the total amount of the move would be $1,900. Therefore, they got my business, since it was the cheapest by a $300.

Presidential Moving Services, LLC asks the range of dates for which you would need your merchandise to be picked up. Knowing this, Presidential Moving Services, LLC knows when to place you in your most vulnerable position. They show up late on that last day so you cannot cancel or get a different company when they lower the boom when they arrive. I told Presidential Moving Services, LLC the range of dates and that December 27 is the latest.

Jessica, one of the dispatchers for Presidential Moving Services, LLC, will confirm that the latest date possible for you. She will ask if the movers can arrive at a time that is not good for you. This is on purpose so she can ensure that the movers will still arrive at the last moment. At the very last moment possible, the movers arrived. They arrived at 6pm on the last day/night that was good for us, just hours before we had to depart on a plane. I could not cancel the move or get a more responsible moving company. We were trapped. Now, Presidential Moving Services, LLC has us in a situation where we have to go with them.

This is important because the movers will not honor any contract or agreement you had in writing with the customer service representative or the dispatcher. You must abide by their terms. At this point, you have no other choice. The movers essentially doubled the costs of the move. I called Josh Stevens, the customer service rep at Presidential Moving Services, LLC to complain and get the movers to agree to the contract terms. Not only did Josh Stevens not return any of my phone messages or text messages that night, but he never responded to any of them. This makes me believe this is their business practice. So, we had to pay the price the movers stated (ATTACHED). We had to pay an additional $1,951 more than quoted and contracted.

Things get even more interesting. Jeff, in the business/accounting office for Presidential Moving Services, LLC, will call you during the move to tell you that the movers were not supposed to have accepted a personal check to pay for the move. Jeff will tell you that the movers were only to accept cash or post office money order. Of course, you would not know that or even have the exact amount for a money order because you don’t know what the movers will require in payment. So, Jeff and Presidential Moving Services, LLC keeps the check you wrote. You will have to pay the new, larger amount at the time of delivery. Jeff will tell you that he will write “void” on the check and send you a picture of the check “voided.” You never get the check back. Why is this important? You don’t get the picture of the check with the word “void” written on it. This is important because unless you cancel the check or stop payment on it with your bank, Presidential Moving Services, LLC can cash that check. That is probably their plan. They want you to pay in check form, collect all the money in a different way, but then be able to cash your check.

Jessica, the dispatcher for Presidential Moving Services, LLC, will call you with the delivery date. Jessica will pressure you to agree to pay the amount the movers stated, not the contract amount, if you want to get your merchandise delivered. Jessica will threaten you with accepting their delivery date or get an additional charge of a redelivery fee. So, you must agree to pay the amount stated by the movers in cash or post office money order at this time or you will get that redelivery charged tacked onto your price. Of course, you agree to pay the amount stated by the movers in the form of cash or post office money order. If you do not, then you get a redelivery fee added to your bill and you will not get your merchandise until a time that is most appropriate for Presidential Moving Services, LLC (US DOT No.: 2897189; ICC/MC No.: 973893).

On the date of delivery, the movers come to you first to get payment. They will not do a thing unless they get the cash or money order. So, you have no recourse or way to redress Presidential Moving Services, LLC for not honoring their contract. No, the movers do not give you back the voided check. Jeff of Presidential Moving Services, LLC will not send it to you either. You better cancel that check or put a stop payment order on it or Presidential Moving Services, LLC can cash it and take even more money.

Please get out the word on Presidential Moving Services, LLC (US DOT No.: 2897189; ICC/MC No.: 973893). Protect your constituents, readers, listeners, and the general public against the scourge that is Presidential Moving Services, LLC (US DOT No.: 2897189; ICC/MC No.: 973893). Write or encourage tougher rules, laws, etc. to prevent consumers from getting bilked by companies such as Presidential Moving Services, LLC (US DOT No.: 2897189; ICC/MC No.: 973893).

We were quoted $4700 to move a 3000 sq ft home. After they loaded the truck, we were handed a piece of paper that said it would be $7900. They didn’t even take all of our things. We were forced to spend an additional $700 for a uhaul to move the remaining items. We even had less furniture than originally quoted. We are currently living in our new home and have spent hours on hold trying to find out when we can expect delivery. We have left messages with no return call. At a loss for what to do next. One of the movers actually stole my ADHD medication. They had the nerve to ask for a tip after loading.

SCAM Moving Company – Avoid at all costs! We were ripped off, the movers were rude, stole from us, customer service – non responsive via email and only occasionally reachable via phone - was unapologetic and rude. This is a classic moving scam company. If you follow this checklist to avoid scam companies, Presidential Moving FAILS this test ([*** Link removed ***] Just read this site and make sure select another company that passes the test, not this company.

Here is the story for we got taken for more than $3000. - Our estimate was $3151.98 and our total ended up being $6,640.50 for a 1500 sq ft 2 bed/1bath home. My in-laws moved a 4600 sq ft (3x the size of our place) 5 bed/4 bath100 miles further than our move and paid $10,000 (1.5x the cost). Our actual cost was more than double what we were given as an estimate (the space estimate was off by 42% - 907 estimated vs 1530 cubic feet actual). This is despite two detailed walkthroughs of all our possessions.

They charge per cubic foot, but once loaded on the truck, they just give you a measurement – with no way to validate how or if they measured the cubic footage. - Two of the three movers were incredibly rude. We had a tree removal service here at the same time due to Irma damage (not by our choice). The tree removal asked for 15 minutes to use our driveway and the mover was rude with me and said "this is wasting my time." The tree removal company complained to move that the movers were very rude to him, and spoke quietly in an Eastern European language he could not understand (nor could I).

The moving truck tore down a tree limb in our front yard, then tried to blame it on our maintenance man who is here every day (even though we saw them do it) AND the aforementioned tree removal company. - We had a box of liquor outside our door for our neighbors. I saw a mover take a bottle, hiding it behind an empty, folded box. The bottle was quickly hidden in the truck when I went to confront them about him so I had no proof. - I emailed Christian, who provided us the initial estimate, and never heard anything back.

I called Customer Service and spoke with Brie. Brie’s tone was rude, annoyed, critical. I issued all of the complaints above and never received anything resembling an apology or attempt to achieve customer satisfaction. Every time I politely issues a complaint, she just “noted”. Never asked if there was anything else she could do, if she answered my questions. Of course there is no survey to provide feedback on their customer service – something offered by any reputable company. - First, we were told the balance could be paid with personal check. We wrote a check and this was not accepted – we were then told cash or postal money order only.

I provided a Cashier’s Check from my bank (for which I paid a fee), but this would not suffice. The movers waited with our stuff for two hours while my sister in law withdrew $4K from her savings and paid them in cash. - Despite the fact that the company promises to assemble desks, tables, beds, etc. they had to be asked to do this upon delivery. And they acted very annoyed when asked to complete this The company has only existed since August 2017, is not part of the BBB, and was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business.

We’re a young couple with our first child on the way in May, and we had carefully budgeted for our move. Presidential Moving unapologetically scammed us and disrupted my family’s financial well-being. Please avoid at all costs and make sure none of your friends and family use them. Any positive reviews are likely fake!! Our credit card company is disputing the charge, and we'll be reporting them to the BBB.
