Premier International Freight Reviews

  • Aug 15, 2019

I was recruited by this company as a OTR truck driver in August 2019. Provided them with a detailed resume covering my experience, what I was looking for, things I was not interested. Ask the owner, Ismaila Moussa, and his "partner" (apparently his brother) if there was anything in my resume that was a problem, and did they read it all. I asked them this repeatedly, which I can document. As soon as I arrived in Omaha, after a very uncomfortable 16 hour bus ride, I knew Mr. Moussa was a bald faced liar. For the following reasons: - I asked to see all paperwork before I left home. He sent me nothing. When I arrived he ambushed me with a driver contract that listed things I would never sign. So I very nearly ended up leaving immediately. After a tense negotiation I signed a revised agreement. - I made it very clear in my resume I needed well maintained equipment. The truck and trailer I was assigned were an unbelievable mess. The truck, a 2015 Kenworth T680, was the worst T680 I've ever come across, and I've driven at least 10 of them. It had no federal inspection. No sticker and no paperwork. Big time illegal. There was a slow coolant leak into the fuel filter. Obvious suspension problems. Bad shocks, leaking air bag, bad leveling valve. I insisted on getting the federal inspection before I went anywhere. The mechanic doing it found a leaking wheel seal luckily. That could have been a disaster if it wasn't caught. In short, the truck was a mess. The trailer was over 12 years old. Spring ride, no air bags. Pull handle for the trailer wheels was so bent I couldn't get it to move. The wheels were locked in almost all the way forward. 2 tires had slow leaks, and one trailer door handle would not close. There was no federal inspection on the trailer, and no paperwork. So neither the truck or trailer had a required federal inspection. And it appears the company was operating the truck and trailer for an extended period of time like that. I stated in my resume that I was not interested in ANY ex big fleet equipment, due to the abuse they tend to get from inexperienced drivers. Both the truck and trailer were ex Werner Enterprises equipment. A very big fleet indeed. Mr Moussa must have missed that part, too. I later discovered that Mr.Moussa is a big time nickel and dimer when it comes to maintaining his equipment, and it showed. Some local mechanics are well aware of his habits I would discover later. I plan to file a complaint with the Department of Transportation over the serious equipment problems at this company. I stated in my resume I wanted the ability to use toll roads when necessary. A few days after I arrived Mr. Moussa said absolutely no toll roads were allowed. None. I could go on, but the gist of this is that the owner of this company, Ismaila Moussa, is a straight up liar. And his company, Premier International Logistics LLC, runs junk equipment. Ismaila Moussa lied to me, wasted my time, and now he is withholding my final pay. A two bit trucking hustler in my opinion. Highly recommend avoiding this company, and Ismaila Moussa in particular. He is a liar.
